Recipe #361419 | 1½ hours | 25 min prep | add private note

This recipe is one of my mom's favorites and a family stand by. I think these days I'd use turkey sausage and add some chopped celery.

SERVES 6 -8 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb sausage, browned
  • 8 ounces wild rice, cook 35 min
  • 1 onion, chop and saute
  • 1 lb chopped cooked chicken

  • 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of chicken soup

  • 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of celery soup

  • 1 (4 ounce) can mushrooms

  • 1 (2 ounce) jar pimiento
  • 1 dash sage
  • 1 dash salt
  • 1 dash pepper
  • 1 dash parsley
  • slivered almonds

Directions

  1. 1
Mix first all ingredients except slivered almonds. Pour into casserole dish and level it with a spoon. Top with slivered almonds. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.
