Veal Osso Bucco

Every Osso Bucco recipe has a different flair to it! I like to keep it simple with the taste of the vegetables coming through. Leek is very good in this recipe! I don't add salt or pepper as I use a gourmet stock that has enough flavour for this dish.

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

    toss the shanks in the flour and brown them in a pan on both sides (use a little olive oil).

    combine all the other ingredients into a large casserole dish.
  3. 3
    push the shanks into the combined mixture, ensuring it is covered with liquid.
  4. 4
    salt and pepper to taste.
  5. 5
    bake in a medium oven (150 C) for 3 hours.
  6. 6
    serve with potato or risotto and some green beans.
  7. 7
    you can add your favourite herb - I love rosemary with this dish.
