Tropical Pear Honey

Recipe #394440 | 1½ hours | 10 min prep | add private note

This is crazy good!!! I made this with leftover pears. Found this recipe in a 1963 Farn Journal canning cookbook. I will be making more of this to put into my gift baskets. You can double the recipe but the cooking time is doubled also. Leave the peals on the pears for a little boost of fiber.

SERVES 1 , 3 pints (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
    Core and chop pears.
  2. 2
Cook over medium heat until just soft.
  3. 3
Put into food pro, with pineapple process until smooth.
  4. 4
Add all ingredients and cook thirty minutes, over medium heat, stirring often.
  5. 5
Pour into sterilized hot jars, cap and put into boiling water bath 10 minutes.
