I just had this today on Memorial Day at a cookout at my neighbors, it was so good & so strangely made I just had to get the recipe to post on Zaar for my friends. She got it from her boyfriend's mom in Arizona. So simple & so good! You just might want to double this, it will go fast!

SERVES 4 , 1 quart (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

    Put chopped lemon rind & all in blender.
  2. 2
    Add 1/2°C sugar.
  3. 3
    Add 1°C of cold water, blend well.
  4. 4
    Strain in fine mesh strainer.
  5. 5
    Add 3 C.cold water to lemon water.
  6. 6
    Makes 1 quart.
  7. 7
    Serve ice cold & enjoy!

Hi, I had some beautiful Lemons so I tried this but it did not work out too well.I made one batch and it was way too sweet.It also had a very bitter after taste.So I did a second batch with half the sugar and it only had a bitter after taste and not much of a lemon tartness or flavor.Maybe Texas Lemons are the trick but we can't get them in Oregon

    School Cooker, I think you'll find the pith is what is causing the bitterness. I make a very similar lemonade, but I peel the skin off the lemons with a potato peeler as thinly as possible, then peel the white pith off the lemon and disgard it. Then shove everything in the blender and continue.
