The Best Ever Guacamole

Recipe #374901 | 15 min | 15 min prep | add private note

By: Jb Tyler, TX
May 28, 2009

This is the tastiest Guacamole. Simple, yet delicious. I was told that this recipe lets the avacado taste shine, some recipes add several spices....cumin, chili powder, etc. I was hesitant, (to make such a bland sounding recipe) but gave it a try. It really is delicious. Use avacados that yield to gentle pressure....not too soft.

SERVES 4 -5 , 2 cups (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Mince garlic, dice onions (use more if necessary). Cut avacados and scoop out contents into glass bowl. Add onion and garlic. Using 2 knives cross-cut mixture until you have small chunks, then mash with a fork. Squeese in 1/2 the lime, white pepper and salt. Taste, and use remaining lime juice if needed. Chill covered.
  2. 2
Garnish for serving with a few pieces of cilantro and small dices of tomato.
  3. 3
Serve with tortilla chips or as a side with Mexican dishes.

Without a doubt the best avaocado dip recipe I have made, simple, yet elegant. However, because it spotlights the avocado taste, it is a must to have very good tasting avocados.

Like it says, this is the best guacamole ever. I used to add everything in my tex-mex arsenal to my guacamole (tomato, cilantro, spices, etc) but since trying this recipe, this is the only one I will ever make. This has a clean taste that lets the avocados truly shine. This came together fast and everyone loves it.Thanks for posting!

Too easy and absolutely delicious!! Next time I will double or triple the recipe. Oh, I chilled it for about an hour which seemed plenty to make it tasty enough for us to devour it in about 20 minutes. Thanks.
