These are delicious anytime, but most especially with Thanksgiving dinner. This is a recipe I hand wrote so many years ago I can't remember who gave it to me, but these sweet potato biscuits are very good.

SERVES 12 , 12 biscuits (change servings and units)

Ingredients

    Preheat oven to 425 º.
  2. 2
    With sweet potatoes in a large bowl, add butter a little at a time untl well blended.
  3. 3
    Put flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda and cinnamon into a medium-sized bowl.
  4. 4
    Stir brown sugar through a strainer into flour mixture.
  5. 5
    Stir until blended.
  6. 6
    Stir flour mixture into sweet potato mixture in 3 additions alternatively with buttermilk, just until well blended.

    Form into a ball and sprinkle some flour on top.

    Roll dough to 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch thickness.

    Cut with a 2-inch round cutter.

    Bake on cookie shet 15 to 20 minutes.

Made these as a trial run & liked them so much that I'll be making them again as part of my contribution to a special Thanksgiving gathering that we'll be attending! REALLY, REALLY GREAT TASTING BISCUITS, & especially nice when topped with Thanksgiving Cranberry Fig Jam #397116 that I'd also made! Thanks for this wonderful treat!
