Strawberry Amaretto Ice Cream Cocktail

Recipe #375460 | 5 min | 5 min prep | add private note

By: Shuzbud
Jun 2, 2009

This tastes like a fresh fruit version of a thick shake with amaretto. The amaretto gives a warm flavour to this otherwise ice cold treat!

SERVES 2 -4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
    Wash and hull the strawberries.
  2. 2
Put them in a blender with the ice cream, milk, powdered sugar and amaretto.
  3. 3
Blend until smooth. Taste and add more amaretto if desired- I like a hint of amaretto but you may prefer it stronger.
  4. 4
Strain through a sieve to remove the strawberry seeds (this produces a much smoother drink and is worth it if you have time).
  5. 5
    Serve ice cold and enjoy!

This was an enjoyable drink! I didn't strain either, as I knew it would be fine, as is...I also didn't use any sugar, as I tasted it, and didn't think it needed it. Perfect to share with friends, I'll definitely be making this again ! Thanks, shuzbud, for a lovely treat!

I wouldn't dream of putting this through a sieve. It would be a waste of perfectly good 'roughage'. Loved it on this most hot of summer day! Made for Everyday is a Holiday.
