It just goes to show you how many great recipes there are on Zaar that you can be a total addict and still when there is a list of the top 100 recipes most you have never come across. Some great recipes that I've tried. Even more great recipes I would've missed if they weren't on this list. I am astonished, though, with so many great cooks on this site that 18 of the top 100 are "copy cats" of various well known chain restaurants (and really shocked that 6 of those are from the Olive Garden, which is referred to in my family as the "Olive Pit".)

Actually...they are the most popular recipes from 2008...as in they could have pre-existed before 2008, but got tons of reviews/stars in 2008 or they could have been created in 2008 and racked up tons of reviews/stars. These 100 recipes were the most-rated and reviewed in 2008, created before or during the year. Hope that makes sense!
Congratulations to all on the Top 100 list. I too would like to see a top 100 list each month or even quarter - that way we could try recipes that we may not have found on our own. This is a great site and I have enjoyed lots of new recipes!

I agree that a monthly list would be a pretty cool feature (didn't zaar use to have a top-40 at some point? I thought it was this site, but maybe it was another, I don't remember..) however it would probably involve IT changes and they would end up breaking the site again for months to come, lol..

Wow, tons of great recipes, and it was fun to see a bunch that I tried in 2008, too.
Thanks for a great site. I only recently learnt to "surf" the web and already I have used some of our recipes. The top 100 really look exiting. For me living in Capetown South Africa ,it is interesting to how some recipes are the same here as in the rest of the world. Others give me a new perspective and to try them out, add value to my cooking and teach more about other countries.
Although we now see Alfredo listed as a sauce quite commonly now, it is not really a sauce. It was originally served as Fettuccine Alfredo style. The butter, cream and cheese were simply tossed with the hot noodles and served. Today we have many products available in jars and containers (and even Olive Garden) bearing the name Alfredo Sauce. Many are thickened with guar gum in order to achieve that thick, gooey texture we love. But the true style is just to toss the ingredients; not mix and cook them.
Looks like a lot of folks are going for the restaurant clone (copycat) recipes. I think I'll post the recipe for the Big Mac --- heh... heh... heh..... just kidding. pat

These recipes look amazing, and can't wait to try alot of them!! I Love "Recipe Zaar" what a great site for "Tried & True" recipes. Its all the reviews from others that really help me decide if ist is a recipe I want to attempt to make or not, and I really havne't seen one that I haven't wanted to try! Thanks so much to all of you----- so much for my weight loss in 2009!!

I am fairly new to this site and must say that EVERY recipe I've tried (with many thanks to the reviews) I have thoroughly enjoyed, as has my husband and our friends. My favorite so far are the Chicken Marsal and the Simply Sour Cream Chicken Enchilades! This is the best site I've found for recipes bar none! A monthly list of the top recipes would be great!
Love the Zaar!! Many thanks to all the recipe contributors AND all the insightful ratings/comments. It might be cool to have a monthly Top 100 (or 50 or whatever) for chicken recipes or Italian recipes or pies or some more narrow recipe group. Love the Zaar!!

Some really good stuff here, think some of the recipes can be refined a little more but overal a good job. If anyones interested in some top quality International recipes have a look on the hyperlink. Once again recipezaar well done for another great post
These are terrific recipes as I've had more than a few of them and they do not disappoint. But! Theses recipes are overwhelmingly high in calores. Could you possibly make a list of top recipes that are better for families who are nutritionaly oriented but still love flavorful food. If anyone can do it, I would believe you guys can! I must admit I frequented another popular food website but this list is what got me hooked onto recipezaar. I must say most of the recipes I've tried from here have been good and the rating, in most cases, aptly reflects the final outcome, which is more than what I can say about some other websites. Good going. Keep it up!!
My first peek is more than enough to bring me back again and again. Printed out several recipes to try. Can't wait to get started.
