What do moms want on our one day of the year? The one day out of 365 that is all about us? Well, if we're shooting for the moon, a trip to the spa or a shopping spree would be nice, but more realistically, all we really want is just an extra hour or two of shuteye and a lovely breakfast in bed. So let the kids do the cooking with kid-friendly recipes and — wait for it — clean up the dishes afterward!

If dinner is the meal you'd like them to make to show their appreciation, share these recipes for a celebratory Mother's Day dinner full of your springtime favorites. Watching your family bust their chops, worrying about your every need sounds like the perfect Mother's Day gift to us. But be careful — you might enjoy being pampered so much that you'll demand this service more than once a year!

Try using an online "metric to standard conversion" website. They are free--just google the parenthetized phrase, then follow the rest of the directions, substituting standard measurement amounts.

This is a delicious recipe you can prepare for motherīs day. ROAST CHICKEN WITH ALMONDS The almond is the fruit of the almond tree, a tree typically from Mediterranean climates, although it has acclimatized well in the Far East, California and other warm countries. There are two kinds of almonds, the sweet, the most used, and the bitter, the aroma and flavor are very pronounced. Almonds are consumed in greater quantity dry raw, must be consumed in moderate quantities by those with sensitive stomach and are not advisable in slimming regimes as a seed full of fat. This recipe is for 4 people. 1 whole chicken 250g almonds cut into thin sheets 50 grams of raisins 3 tablespoons butter 2 tablespoons olive oil 200 gm rice 1 medium onion Thyme, salt and pepper Bring a cup of warm water into raisins to make them spread out. Preheat oven to 300 ° C. Make a dressing with thyme, salt, pepper and a tablespoon of butter and spread the chicken with the dressing. Place inside the chicken a little salt and pepper. Place the chicken in the hot oven, let cook for 1 hour turning several times. In the middle of cooking, add two tablespoons of boiling water and wash chicken with this juice. In the middle of cooking chicken, prepare rice: bring to boil with water, peel and chop the onion, pour the olive oil in a pan and heat it to close well, add the rice and chopped onion. Stir until the rice grains lose their transparency. Turn off heat and add the boiling water, salt, pepper and a pinch of dried thyme. Cover and put back on low heat for 15 minutes until boils and remove cover it. Arrange rice in a dish for the oven, place the whole chicken on top and sprinkle with almonds and raisins. If you need to add two tablespoons of boiling water at the source of cooking. Heat, stirring for 1 or 2 minutes to dissolve the chicken juice and place the sauce in a gravy boat. Cut the chicken and serve with sauce and rice, garnished with raisins and almonds. This recipe is mine, and it is published in http://www.recipesdrinksandfood.com hope you enjoy it
