Sauteed Spinach With Sesame - Korean

This recipe is from Mark Bittman's "The Best Recipes in the World". I haven't made this yet; I'm just always looking for simple, tasty ways to eat spinach. Cooking time is just an estimate. This looks like it will cook up very quickly.

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

  1. 1
    Put 2 T. of the oil in a large skillet over medium heat for one minute. Add garlic. The instant it begins to sizzle, add spinach and cook, stirring occasionally, until it is completely wilted. Turn heat to low.
  2. 2
    Stir in sugar and soy sauce. Cook for a few more moments. Turn off heat. Taste to see if you need additional salt or soy sauce. Serve hot, warm, room temp or cold.
  3. 3
    Before serving, drizzle with remaining sesame oil and spinkle with sesame seeds.

I love spinach, so I knew I'd love this. I made it exactly as posted, and it was really good. I loved the nuttiness of the toasted sesame seeds on the spinach! The only thing I might change would be not to drizzle more sesame over the spinach...I thought it had enough as is. Thanks for posting another yummy spinach recipe! Made for Zaar 123 Hit Wonders Tag.

    We really loved this! Even my DS' girlfriend, who doesn't like spinach, liked this! Thanks for the easy, tasty stir fried spinach recipe. I fixed it, alongside, Spicy Thai Chicken With Basil and jasmine rice. What a great combo!
