Mirto means myrtle in English. The myrtle bush has small pointy leaves, and dark berries similar to wild huckleberries.I don't know exactly what's in mirto, I think that the term is used interchangably for foods flavored with the leaves or the berries. From Healthy Italian Hors d’Oeuvres published in the October 2008 edition of F&W Magazine. They say that Amaro means bitter in Italian & the quintessential after dinner cordial so a punch made with it can't be bad. Saw this recipe and am putting it here for safekeeping. Watch out it can be lethal!!!
