This receipe comes from the cookbook 'Salsa Cooking' which is an amazing cookbook. The salsa is as close to the real thing as I have tried outside of Mexico. This salsa is also the base for the Lime Chicken Tortilla Soup The receipe calls for grilled tomatoes but I prefer fresh, cored tomatoes instead. I agree with Katzen's review about adding oil, if you are using recipe as a regular salsa there is no need to add oil. If using for the soup you do need the oil You can spice up the salsa by leaving some of the jalapeno seeds in

I have found the same recipe on a tortilla chips bag in Iran, but forgot to write it down. Thank you for bring it back to me. I just chopped the tomatoes, didn't use the oil and added extra coriander. Now that I found it, I'll be making it again.

This is almost the exact same recipe I always make. But I use red onions and more cilantro. It tastes so good with so many things. I could put it on anything. Thanks for posting.

This was good! The only changes I made were that I didn't use the jalapenos and added some cumin, oh and I didn't use the olive oil. I've never cored tomatoes and squeezed the seeds out before so I'm glad that I learned this technique... which I just sort of winged and it worked out fine! Made for ZWT5.

A good, standard pico de gallo recipe, although I am not accustomed to using oil; I think it added a touch of mellowness to the lime juice. I used serrano peppers instead of jalapenos. Simple, and good! Thank you for sharing it! Made for ZWT5.
