Wonderful Kitchen Sink Scrub That Makes Your Sink Glow!

My wonderful Auntie Karen(Chef Yogi) has been so generous and kind to me. She sent me over half a dozen awesome essential oils which is something I have been wanting for so many months!! She sent me this wonderful easy recipe that was listed on www.make-stuff.com I have just finished making this and using it in my horribly dirty sink and now, I have the most clean and glowing sink I have ever seen in my kitchen! Nobody would believe I haven't used even a little Vim or Jif tonight to clean my sink if they saw it. Something so easy as this, and using just 4 ingredients is a true winner and a sure keeper in my book. Hope this will make you as happy as it made me! I am going to use this as long as these oils last!;) In my opinion, this would make a nice gift to give a would-be bride or your best friend for that matter or your neighbour or mom or MIL. Whoever you gift this to, is going to love you for it! ENJOY! -- posted by Charishma Ramchandani

This looks so pretty and tastes delicious!!! I can imagine it at a bridal luncheon or even as an untraditional wedding cake. Great for Canada Day with the Red/White of if you want to make a Red-White-and Blue cake for the 4th of July, make it one pint raspberries (or strawberries) and 1 pint blueberries.
Homemade Prickly-Heat/Rash Fighting Powder

This powder is awesome to use in the hot summer months when prickly heat/rash breaks out on the body due to excessive perspiration. It's best to stay cool at such a time. To do that, use this powder to stay cool and dry. I like to make a batch of this and store it in my refrigerator, so that when I apply this, I feel light and cool! Also, wear light clothing made from natural fibres such as cotton. My mom has always made me a new cotton lingerie ever since I can recall for every summer:-) This recipe is from the book Natural Beauty At Home by Janice Cox. -- posted by Charishma Ramchandani

Solid Perfume

This is long lasting, easy to carry and discreet- you can just rub them on. Now you can carry your own personal scent just like the beauties of the olden times did such as Cleopatra, Nefertiti, Madame de Pompadour and Irene Langhorne(the original Gibson girl). Pour your blends into vintage compacts or pillboxes for a unique package to slip into a pocket or purse. Any fragrance can be given a solid form. One must bear in mind that oil-based scents will last longer.
Lorraine's Luscious and Lovely Limoncello

My friend Lorraine B gave me this wonderful recipe when I was looking for an interesting hostess gift. One of the best things about this recipe is that it only takes one week to infuse, as opposed to up to a month that I've seen in other recipes. I actually made a quadruple recipe and got 6 bottles to give as gifts (I kept one for myself, of course!). At last night's preliminary tasting (2 hours after bottling) I can tell you that this is a very refreshing tipple! I'm also going to try this with oranges this winter. -- posted by Mirj

Raspberry Coconut Cake With White Chocolate Icing

I made this cake from a vision, lol. I have seen these things called "Dream Bars" up on this site that have raspberry and coconut flavors mixed in them, and I just couldn't help but want to make a cake that had the same flavorings. When I first made it, I was really nervous when I took it out of the oven because it began to fall, but little did I know that it had turning into an incredibly moist, sponge-like cake. It soaks up the raspberry jam and takes up the flavor and color of it. It is really a pretty cake, and very tasty I might add. I hope you enjoy it! -- posted by MizEmerilLagasse

Rita's Christmas Cheese Logs

Pop's secretary, Rita, is one of the best cooks! She brings in stuff to the store all the time. (Pop is the store manager at a farm equipment place.) She gives all the employees there a plate of candy and some of this every year for Christmas. When I lived at home, I'd sneak and eat a chunk right off the ball (like an apple..no knife necessary) and Mom would find teeth marks in it the next morning. So, I got the recipe so I could make some and not worry about leaving teeth marks in Pop's. It's good, but you really do need to let this hang out in the fridge and "mellow" a day or two before you eat it. Serving size of the recipe also depends on how big you make your logs. **Cook time is "mellowing" time.** -- posted by Redneck Epicurean

Swedish Cookie Shells

This is a recipe I found on a Web site awhile back but don't remember which one...grrr...old age strikes again. Posting this for ZWT II 2006 Scandinavia. Just a note Zandbakeiser tins are little tart tins 2 to 3 inches in diameter with fluted edges, but if you don't want to go out and spend a bunch of money on this just use your mini muffin pans they work just fine. I make these as gifts, for weddings, and so darned many family events...they are delicious are eaten so fast it amazes me every time. -- posted by Chabear01

Precious Aunt Lill's Pizzale Waffles

This is a staple in Italian households and are served mainly at holiday time or other important events such as Christenings, graduations, etc. This recipe has been in my family for generations and all my non-Italian friends love them. My Aunt, Lillian, whom we all loved so much was the lady who taught my cousins and I how to make these. She's passed away now, but Pizzale Waffles and Aunt Lill go hand in hand! I like this recipe because they are very easy to make and are beautiful to look at. Special note: you must have a Pizzale Waffle Iron to make them - the irons are available at most Italian food stores or better department stores. -- posted by FromSiCiLy 2 NY with LoVe

Gorgeous Little Butterfly Cakes or Fairy Cakes!

An absolute must for ANY children's party or even dare I say, adult parties too......weddings, girls night's in, showers, pajama parties & sleep overs, retro buffets, etc. My Mum showed me how to make these--the recipe is an original Be-Ro standard Victoria Sponge mix--very easy to multiply or reduce. I have given a modest amount here for 12-18 butterfly or fairy cakes, depending on what size paper case you use.
Bride & Groom Apples

Are you looking for something special for a wedding or shower? This apple couple is adorable and would make a cute edible centerpiece. Use two jumbo apples for a bridal couple or small apples for wedding favors. A firm, crisp apple works best for this project. It is also helpful if you look for apples that "sit" up properly. You will also need the following supplies: 1 12" circle of white tulle,
1 20" length of white satin 3/4-inch ribbon,
1 20" length of black satin 3/4-inch ribbon, and tacky glue -- posted by Susie D

Devil's Food Cupcakes With Chocolate Ganache Frosting and Center

These cupcakes are my favorite cupcakes in the whole wide world. I could eat these every day for the rest of my life. If I met a man who could make these I would marry him. :) I made these for a poker party and a girlfriend of mine Molly cried when she tried them - they are that good.

First thing to keep in mind is that you have to make the Chocolate Ganache first. You need half of the frosting for the fillings which need to be set so you can turn it into little balls before you start with the batter. -- posted by BakeSpace

These are delicious arabic biscuits / pastries, they can be made with a variety of fillings, including pistachios, walnuts or dates. They are often eaten in the Middle East as a celebratory food, for example at weddings, the end of ramadan, rosh hosana, christmas, easter etc. They contain very little sugar so they are quite healthy. The pistachios are considered the most desirable fillings. Almonds also work quite nicely though.

Bobby Flay Throwdown Red Velvet Cupcakes and Cream Cheese Icing

I saw this recipe on the Food Network show Bobby Flay Throwdown. He challenged a lady who has a cupcake store. This is the recipe she uses and says she sells the most of. You want to make these huge. She makes them to feed 2 people. Opening them up and cutting them in half like a regular cake. The icing recipe makes alot,,,but plan to use a heaping scoop on top of the cupcake. Since you cut it in half and eat it with a fork every forkful can dip into the icing. I double the cocoa amount for more flavor. Also,,it calls for 2 tbs of red food coloring, it does make it very red,,but even 1 tbs will make it red enough. -- posted by Domesticgirly

Barefoot Contessa's Shortbread Hearts - Ina Garten

I got this recipe from the Food TV website after seeing the cookies made by the Barefoot Contessa herself, Ina Garten. It's been my go-to recipe for Shortbread Cutouts for years now, and I was surprised to see that it was not already posted on the Zaar. It's the first recipe for Cutout cookies that rolled, cut and baked with ease for me, just as shown on TV! Not only does it make great holiday Shortbread cutouts, it's the perfect recipe to roll thin and sandwich with your favorite jam, or my personal favorite, cutout using a Kaiser-brand, wavy-edged Square Cookie Cutter and place an After Eight-brand Thin Chocolate Mint between 2 cookies, immediately after removing them from your baking sheet!
Hannah's Butter Mints

My daughter Hannah based this recipe on one she found in a book entitled Teens Cook Dessert. She had a friend sleep over and they made it together. Even better, they shared it with all the girls in their youth group that night. Everyone loved it. We can't wait to make it again. Although the recipe instructs to let them sit overnight, we found they didn't reach the soft, creamy, melt in your mouth butter mint texture until they had sat for two and half or three days - perhaps because we live in humid Florida. They are just as delicious if you eat them sooner, but have more of a salt-water taffy, chewy, sticky texture. -- posted by CTRmom

Soft Cream Cheese Mints

I like this recipe because it is very flexible allowing you to be very creative in how pretty you make the mints and design the mints to fit the occasion. My sister got this recipe from a friend. -- posted by BitbeStitch

Soft Caramels

These caramels are so good that we gave them away as Christmas gifts each year for about 5 years in a row and have been harassed ever since for not taking the time to make them as often. This recipe came from a very old Ball (as in Ball Canning Jars and Lids) cookbook my mom had, but I have added MANY tips to help you be successful right out of the gates. Very rich and yummy. -- posted by BitbeStitch
