Bun Ga Nuong (Grilled Chicken and Vermicelli Salad)

This recipe comes from Chef Viet Tran of New York City's and Philadelphia's Le Colonial Restaurants. I posted this in response to a recipe request. I have neither tasted or made this. (Prep time will depend on how long you marinate. Use your own judgement on how much you shrimp you want with this). -- posted by Teresa M

Vietnamese Sugar Cured Beef Salad

A Vietnamese family who own and run our local fish'n chip shop gave me this recipe. The beef takes up a beautiful flavour. Make sure you use fresh beef for the recipe. I prefer to use the rib eye fillet cut. It is easier for me to carve. A great summer dish for those hot, hot summer days. -- posted by Chrissyo

Black Rice - Xoi Nep Than

You may have seen black rice with its exotic coloring. It has a nutty taste similar to wild rice and pairs well with baked meats, poultry, and game. -- posted by Sue L

Vietnamese-Style Spicy Fried Rice

Spicy and flavorful, this easy dish provides a delicious change from Nasi Goreng or Chinese Fried Rice. Try to use Vietnamese fish sauce (Nuoc Mam), which is more pungent than other Southeast Asian fish sauces. Preparation time does not include the time needed to dry the rice overnight. -- posted by Daydream

Banh Chung (Vietnamese Rice Cake)

Vietnamese Lunar New Year(Tet) will never be complete without this cake. It's very heavy, very filling, an Atkin dieter's nightmare, but it taste amazing. It takes a LONG time to cook. You read right that it takes 6 hours. And overnight soaking of rice and beans! -- posted by Nolita_Food

Vietnamese-Style Fresh Spring Rolls With Salmon

A great way to use leftover cooked salmon! Serve these delicious fresh (not fried!) spring rolls with a spicy peanut dipping sauce. You can mix some peanut butter and hot chili paste with hoisin sauce, or look up a more sophisticated dipping sauce recipe. I used leftover salmon, which happened to be baked with cilantro butter - Feel free to use plain salmon or canned salmon. Make sure to use only fresh herbs and remember that practice makes perfect when it comes to the art of spring roll assembly! Kosher and gluten-free. -- posted by What's Cooking?

Com Sot Ca Chua - Vietnamese Tomato Rice

I got this recipe from my Husband's family. It's an easy way to jazz up the usual rice. Cook time is estimated, and doesn't take cooking the rice into consideration. -- posted by Kiersten Phae
