Rust Stains from Metal Outdoor Furniture Can Be Removed

Rust stains from metal outdoor furniture can be removed from concrete by using fresh lemon juice. Our front concrete porch had several rust stains due to an outdoor wooden bench with metal legs. I tried a couple lemon juice applications to the stains and was astonished at how well the treatment worked!!! -- posted by Linda's Kitchen-Klatter

Also known as Italian frying peppers, Cubanelle peppers are large and blocky. They are light green in appearance and they mature red. The thin walls of this pepper make it an excellent choice for frying. This pepper is not hot.

Amazing Burgers

I always used to play around with my burger recipes until the night i made these- I'll never make burgers any other way. Enjoy!

NOTE: The addition of a slice of your favorite cheese melted over the top of your burgers can never hurt.

ANOTHER NOTE: I make my patties and let them sit in the fridge covered in clear wrap for a half hour before grilling.

MORE NOTES: A good juicy burger can tend to make the bun soggy so it's a good idea to lightly toast the bun on the grill.

LAST NOTE: For a great sauce for all your burgers check out my 'Amazing Burger Sauce' recipe. -- posted by Drunk Chef

Mini Polenta Sandwiches (Easy)

Here's a quick and easy recipe using only 5 ingredients!Great for holiday shopping nights when their isn't much time for dinner. Made with purchased polenta, they're great! You will find Polenta tubes in the refrigerated deli section of your supermarked.I think the tubes are 10oz. but am not sure. For the sake of the computer, I'll put down 10oz. I have bought the polenta many times, and have never looked at the weight. There's only one size that I've ever seen. The tube looks o me to be about 8-10" but I may be wrong. I'll go to the market and pick one up, and then post.
If you make this, please tell me the weight so that I can correct my guestimation! -- posted by FLUFFSTER

Turkish-Style Grilled Chicken With Yogurt and Cumin (Tavuk Izgar

This is from "The Mediterranean Kitchen" by Joyce Goldstein. I haven't tried it but it sure sounds good! It's meant to be cooked over charcoal, or under the hot oven broiler. It gives a choice of 4 half-chickens, but I couldn't get the system to accept them. I'll probably make this with bone-in thighs as that is what I usually buy, and skewers would be an unnecessary step/cleanup. -- posted by firefly68

Sneaky Chef Green Juice

This can be used to boost nutritional value for lots of recipes! Use in chocolate pudding, milk shakes, green icings, casseroles, etc. Green juice is an extremely nutrient dense food. One tablespoon is equivalent to eating 1/4 cup of spinach leaves. It contains iron, calcium, and enzymes for digestion, as well as chlorophyll and carotens for disease fighting power. And just think, your kids, husband, guests, etc. won't even know! :) This recipe was gleaned from The Sneaky Chef cookbook by Missy Chase Lapine. -- posted by Sharon123

Sarasota's Garlic Basil Oil

I don't think I can actually call this a recipe, because it it so simple. Since I have grow herbs year round, I use this for my cilantro, basil, mint and parsley as well. Three ingredients is all. I love it over grilled vegetables, zucchini, portabellos, eggplant, and pretty much anything you want. It is equally as good over grilled chicken, fish, shrimp, and scallops. And try some drizzled over some pasta or grilled bread. -- posted by SarasotaCook

Beef Braised in Barolo Wine (Brasato)

Brasato al Barolo is one of the classic, elegant Piemontese dishes, and really does require a hearty red wine, ideally Barolo (though you could use other hearty red wines, e.g. Chianti, Brunello, or Taurasi), to come out right. Save it for a special occasion, and you'll be quite pleased with the results. -- posted by Phil Franco

Spicy Stir-Fried Pork and Bok Choi

Very easy and yummy! I buy a whole pork loin then cut it up into meal-size pieces, wrap each piece in wax paper and stick it all in a freezer bag. This time I had pre-sliced one piece into strips, so it was really easy to thaw the package in the microwave and make this dish quickly. Also, if you store your ginger root in the freezer it is easy to grate with a serrated knife or a vegetable peeler. If you cannot find mirin, you can substitute dry sherry or orange juice. -- posted by Mom of picky eaters and vegetarians

I saw Giada from Food Network make this and it looked so delicious I had to try it, and it was FANTASTIC! The directions on the FN site do not say to lay the twine in the pan FIRST, THEN add the roast, then the bacon. But this is how she did it on the show and it looks much easier to tie it up that way. I also double the garlic as we love garlic. I hope you try this for any special occasion. We make them for an appetizer for Thanksgiving since the guys are always trying to stick their hands in the food we are making for dinner. These keep them away until the eggs disapear.
