			<description>Simple, refreshing and delicious! Juicy tomatoes, crisp cucumbers and crunchy onion combine with Miracle Whip to make an unbelievably delicious salad! You will be surprised and delighted...the juice from the tomatoes combines so well with the Miracle Whip, you'll never know that Miracle Whip is in it once the flavors have combined. You may be tempted to add something to it, it seems too simple to be good, but try it like this first, I guarantee you'll like it! I make it often for potlucks and BBQ's and people are always amazed at the simplicity of this recipe. Family legend is that relatives from California always made this salad and so it was dubbed 'California Salad'. Can easily be made low/non-fat, but I prefer the regular version. It is also great as a 'relish' on grilled meats, especially brats. This is also a very 'forgiving' recipe...I never measure anything, just throw it together. Just remember the veggie ratio is 1:1:1 and you'll do fine!  **Unless you live in a warm climate and can grow or get locally grown tomatoes all year long, don't bother making this in the winter! This is not only healthy, but it is SO festive and colourful - my photo shows the one I made this Boxing Day (26th December), I usually add kiwi fruit too, but we had run out of them.......oooops! My quantities listed here make enough for 6 to 8 people, but this can be increased as well as reduced to suit personal requirements. I normally serve this with cr&amp;egrave;me fraiche or vanilla yoghurt, but its also wonderful when served naked, the salad that is, not me! These are a breeze to make but they tick all the taste boxes, as well as being elegant. Cucumbers do vary in size, and I have suggested a medium cucumber, which is about 10&amp;quot; to 12&amp;quot; long.........however, any size will do!! Adjust the cr&amp;egrave;me fraiche to how many cups you yield from a cucumber, I managed to make 30 cups and used 10 tablespoons of cr&amp;egrave;me fra&amp;icirc;che for that amount, 1 teaspoon per cup. Serve these with cocktails and pre-dinner drinks, or as part of a buffet. The cucumber cups and cr&amp;egrave;me fra&amp;icirc;che can be prepared beforehand, but these should only be assembled 1 hour before serving (at the most) and covered in cling film to ensure the smoked salmon does not dry out. We in Croatia are very lucky because we can buy salted anchovies from direct producers who make these salted anchovies the same way old Romans did. And I must say, these home made salted anchovies are much, much better than grocery-stores one. Beside anchovy we also salt srdela a.k.a. sardine. Srdela is heavier to eat, and more cleaning work. It is very salty meal and a person should not eat more than three salted anchovies per day (thats 6 fillets). It's most popular in the Caribbean around the holidays and can double as an adult beverage with the addition of your favorite alcohol (namely rum or guinness). It has a milk base with spices like vanilla and nutmeg, so it's definitely not a carrot juice for those looking for health, but hey, there are carrots involved!

It's complex without being &amp;quot;difficult&amp;quot;, unless you count how hard it can be to find Japanese peppers. If you can't find them, I'm sure you could sub something similar.  These are mild, thin-skinned, 3-inch-long peppers with wrinkles running down the length of them and a blunt tip. I found them in a large Asian market's produce section on a plastic-covered styrofoam tray.  Though I roasted and dehydrated them, I don't think the drying is necessary.  Roasting whatever pepper you use, however, is crucial to the flavor of the dip. My husband and I both agreed this is a versatile dip and we'll be using it on hamburgers tonight. 			<description>An old-fashioned treat, this is a fabulous way to use up left over ham, although I have also put some freshly cooked ham aside especially for this when I have baked a ham for Christmas, Easter or another special occasion. The ham is finely minced and mixed through with old-fashioned spices and butter, and it keeps for several weeks in a cool place. Another name for this recipe is Potted Meat, and it was VERY popular in Victorian times, although recipes for potted meats (preserved under butter) goes back even further than that historically. Wonderful in sandwiches for the teatime table or for picnics, lunch boxes and festive buffets. This is an adapted recipe from Mrs Beetons Book of Household Management, where she suggests that this is a nice addition for the Breakfast or Luncheon table. Serve with sliced breads of all types, oatcakes, toast, bread rolls, and crackers or with salad, chutneys, mustard and pickles. I love these kinds of appetizers because they don't take much time, this one is vegan -- so almost anyone can eat it. I like to serve them with Pita Crisps: preheat oven to 375&amp;ordm;F. Split 6 pitas hrizontally into circles, then cut each circle into 6 triangles. Lay them in a single layer, rough side up, on 2 or 3 baking sheets. Use a pastry brush to brush triangles with olive oil, then sprinkle with fennel seeds and a pinch of sea salt or instead of fennel and sea salt use Mrs Dash salt free seasonings. For example: Table Blend, Original or Garlic &amp;amp; Herb, these have a flavor all their own -- try it you might like it.
