Strawberry Pineapple Banana Smoothie

My sister always requests this. Ingredient measurements are not exact; I kind of just throw it all together. I don't always this exact combination of fruits either, it's usually whatever we have on hand. Makes 2 servings. -- posted by Andrew Mollmann

One Second Strawberry Smoothie Omg It's Orgasmic!

I call it one second strawberry smoothie because it only takes a second before its all gone! One of my play-around recipes. so you know it's good! I actually make homemade cool whip and add banana cream pie pudding into that whipped cream then freeze it. Then just add that into this recipe. It saves time and plus it's a yummy treat all on its own anytime! -- posted by ammi

Light Strawberry Smoothie

Made this over a thousand times now, and I never get tired of it! Takes care of my appetite and sweet cravings, with no fat and little calories. Sometimes I'll even add half a banana or 20-25 blueberries to change it up a bit, or even 1/4 cup of pomegranate juice. This makes 1 HUGE serving, or just add 2 more strawberries and use 1/2 a cup of milk instead of 1/3 and you'll get 2 medium servings. -- posted by CafeAronzo

Green Smoothie

This smoothie is often called a "Shrek Shake" at our house because it can have some odd colors to it. Nonetheless, everyone from the grown-ups to the baby loves it! It can be made with any kind of berry, and another kind of milk could be substituted as well, but we have a dairy allergy at our house. I have substituted kale for the spinach as well, but kale's strong flavor is a bit harder to mask and it may need a bit of sweetener if you go that route. -- posted by Chef #976904

Berry Blend Smoothie

A smoothie recipe that I came up with experimenting with our new blender and our picky tastes. We wanted something healthier than our normal breakfasts. I'm sure you could use just about any juice or fruit you like, and fresh fruit would probably taste better and be healthier. We chose that one because it's 100% Juice and for the antioxidants. -- posted by *Mell*

Berry Smoothie

I was craving fresh fruit for breakfast and only had frozen, but I ran across this recipe in Taste of Home's Quick Cooking Sept-Oct '99. Patricia Mahoney of Presque Isle, Maine says it's difficult to get everyone to eat breakfast before school in the morning, and this gives a delicious and nutritious easy start. If fresh mint were in season, I would definitely throw in a few sprigs for flavor next time. Of course fresh fruit would be even more delicious, but this is a great winter alternative to beat the doldrums. YUM! -- posted by AmyZoe

Delicious Fruit Smoothie!!

I've never had much luck making smoothies until I threw this one together. It is ridiculously good for you, amazingly delicious, and super easy to make! However, my favorite thing about it is that you can store some in the fridge and it stays smoothie consistency for at least 24 hours (maybe longer, I haven't tried yet)! For the frozen strawberries and bananas, I freeze my own from fresh. I imagine the frozen kind you get from the store would work well too. You could try substituting other fruits or juices, but I can only guarantee the results with this recipe! -- posted by ramartin42

Healing Blueberry Aloe Smoothie

There aren't very many things better than this when it comes to helping our your body. Plus, it's yummy. And if it's too "fruity" for you, you can always add a scoop of non-fat frogurt to make it thick and creamy, I suppose :) To harvest the aloe vera gel, use a knife to filet away all of the green skin and any of the red veins along the inside. Then just toss it in the blender. I also usually add a teaspoon of lemon-flavored fish oil for Omega-3's, but this is not necessary. Aloe vera is known to cure ulcers, Crohn's, fight cancer and disease and do so many wonderful things! -- posted by Jessievs

Blueberry Strawberry Smoothie With Protein Powder

Smoothies are so easy to create with milk, mixed frozen fruit, yogurt and some protein powder. I made mine a bit different by using yogurt drinks. I like the fact that you can drink this smoothie without having to use a straw (or spoon!!) and the frozen fruit act like ice cubes, so this helps prevent brain freeze -- posted by Abby Girl

Berry Berry Good Smoothie!

This is a healthy, thick and delicious smoothie that goes great as a breakfast, snack or even dessert! It has a delicious and very thick texture, and servings can be easily altered to meet your demand. This smoothie packs in protein, calcium, fiber and antioxidants with a delicious taste and satisfying thickness. Yummy!
Note: The plain greek yogurt is packed with protein at about 15 grams for every 6 ounces, with much less sugar and calories then regular yogurt and no fat, along with a thick and creamy texture. However, if you cant find this delicious stuff, any other yogurt can also be used.
Note: If your looking to cut down on calories, omit the banana. -- posted by Chef #1290167

High Fiber, Low Calorie Raspberry Pear Green Smoothie

Green smoothies sound gross, but believe me, with fruit added, they are sweet and tasty, and unbelievably healthy. Not to mention you are getting lots of water, which helps fill you up more and studies show most Americans do not drink enough (thus making them more likely to eat more food.)
Bass Lake Fruit Smoothies

This is my recipe for smoothies that I always use. We drank many of these while Holidaying at Bass Lake California, hence the name.
My daughter loves these, and it's a great morning treat, especially before school, it helps get her moving! I let her choose what flavour she wants the night before, and bring it up to her while she's getting ready for School.
The key is the vanilla yogourt, it gives it a great flavour. -- posted by ~Leslie~

Berry Smooth Shake Smoothie

This is my favourite smoothie recipe! My kids love it, which is even better. Oddly, I originally found it on a website providing camping tips for the Freeman River campground in Alberta. I haven't yet figured out how to get my blender to work in my tent, but the recipe is a big hit in my kitchen at home. I've also done this with strawberries, which were tasty.
Healthy Strawberry-Banana Breakfast Smoothie

I've been trying to eat healthier and add in my fruits and vegetables in my diet. For me, that's a huge task since I'm a horribly picky eater! I wanted to get more bananas in my diet for the potassium, but I HATE the taste of them! So basically what I did this morning for breakfast was add everything into this smoothie recipe until I could barely taste the banana and it worked! I calculated that this smoothie is about 470 calories, and almost 9 grams of fiber. I also flax oil to give this drink an extra boost of nutrition. -- posted by Chef #1356549

Berry Yoghurt Smoothie

I got this recipe from Sarah Owen's book "The Top 100 juices", published by Lifetime Distributers, Castle Hill, Australia.
Sarah Owen says "The super-nutrient vitamin C is needed for more than 300 diferent processes in the body, but it is easily wiped out by smoking, pollution and stress. Found in abundance in berries, vitamin C and other antioxidants help to quash the damaging free radicals that are associated with many illnesses."
The original recipe calls for natural bio yoghurt to be used, but any yoghurt will do.
This makes a large amount of smoothie, and if you're making it just for yourself, I'ld recommend halving it.
I hope you enjoy this healthy - but still tasty - smoothie :) -- posted by TALIA #3

Raspberry-Peach Smoothie (Diabetic)

This recipe is from a health magazine and was created by a Diabetes Education Program Director. It has low glycemic index ingredients such as peaches, apples, milk and yogurt. The moderate glycemic index ingredients would be the raspberries and the high index item would be the honey. It is very yummy and not overly sweet! I think it favors a milk shake!
Strawberry Raspberry Smoothie

I made this completely by accident, and i love it! I use Yoplait thick and creamy yougurt, i think it gives the drink the best texture, and I also use the condensed frozen juice, welches white grape is the best, but apple also works, depends on how sweet you like it. I also found substituting 1 Delmonte Fruit chiller in polar raspberry tastes better to me than the frozen berries themselves. To each his own.
For a healthier smoothie use light yougurt, no sugar added juice, and skim milk. -- posted by Chef #1470073

Power Packed Purple Smoothie

I've gotten really into having smoothies for breakfast lately. They taste great and it helps me get in some great nutrients to start my day. This one contains a couple ingredients that will make you think "What??!!" Trust me on this one. The cottage cheese adds lots of protein and gives the smoothie a creamy texture. Spinach adds lots of vitamin A and you can't even taste it (really, I promise!). ___________________________________________
