Lacy Potato Kugel

I have been eating potato kugel all my life - take it from me, this one is the absolute best.
Kuure-ed Chicken (A Yooper-Inspired Recipe)

A lot of you don't know it, but Yooper and I are diet buddies. We were chatting on the phone one Friday morning and he told me how he admired my talent of just "coming up" with a recipe off the top of my head. That morning, with Yoop's words echoing in my head, I created this curried chicken recipe. And guess what, Yooper? It's legal for Somersizing. Non-Sommersizers can serve this with some Basmati rice. Mark, I return the compliment by naming this dish after you! Prep time includes marinating, but cook time does not include crockpot option. -- posted by Mirj

Easy meatloaf

This is my mom's very simple and very delicious meatloaf recipe. **Be careful- it's been reviewed as very salty!! It may not need the salt called for in the recipe. It is probably the Progresso breadcrumbs. I use kosher meat which does not need extra salt because it is already salted and also contributes to the flavor- I've tried and the flavor hasn't come out as good with other meat. -- posted by Pax44

Banana Fritters a La Jacques Pepin

This is from Sweet Simplicity: Jacques Pepin's Fruit Desserts. These are all he said it is and more! The batter becomes like a "tempura" batter because of the ice water. We added a large egg because it is included in the directions and not ingredients and it made sense. If there is anyone who can look it up for me, I would appreciate it. I copied the notes by hand, copy machine at library was broken, & I wasn't allowed to check the book out. We made these for the last night of Hanukah, there were a lot of over ripe bananas and went ahead and made the fritters. I had been saving this recipe for awhile - am glad I did. -- posted by Manami

A really tasty, easy, and healthy recipe adapted from ''The Low-Fat Jewish Cookbook'' by Faye Levy and printed in the New York Times. They are more like cute, individual kugels than latkes, and are really yummy. -- posted by blucoat

Cottage Cheese Pancakes (Levivot)

This delicious, traditional Jewish recipe is from Joan Nathan’s wonderful cookbook, “The Foods of Israel Today”. Use the cinnamon and sugar for a sweeter pancake. You can also add a little vanilla . -- posted by blucoat

Potato & Cheese Latkes With Apple-Pear Sauce

I found these online about 6 years ago and never posted them. What I like is that they are savory and a combination of both cheese and potato. The potato-cheese latkes prep time = 15 mins & frying time = 10 mins per batch. The apple-pear sauce prep time = 10 mins & cooking time = 20 mins. While there is nothing like the traditional applesauce and sour cream, here's this variation - easy to make and tastes great!!!!;) -- posted by Manami
