Mexican Tortas De Milanesa

It is a Mexican steak sandwich which is nothing like you've had before. Don't let the long recipe scare you off, it's really easy--it just takes a lot of words to explain each step. This is an authentic meal my husband grew up on in Mexico. You won't find anything like it at Taco Bell, I promise. -- posted by ROBIN PENA

Steak-Lovers' Leftovers (Sandwiches)

Amazingly enough, there was a little bit of beef tenderloin left after Christmas dinner last year. Looking for a way to stretch less than a pound to make a full meal for 4, I found this recipe from the Feb., 1990, issue of Gourmet Magazine. Everyone just lapped it up! While the quality of meat is obviously a big factor, you can use anything from tenderloin to grilled flank steak to deli roast beef with acceptable results. -- posted by highcotton

Portuguese Garlic Steak Sandwiches (prego No Pao)

These steaks flavored with onions and red wine are called garlic "nailed" steaks because a small meat mallet is typically used to "nail" the garlic slices into the steak. If you like drama, go for it, but I usually just push the garlic in with my finger - it doesn't really stay in too well anyway. Regardless, this is an awesome way to enjoy your next steak sandwich. They're quick, satisfying and totally delicious. -- posted by EdsGirlAngie

Steak Sandwiches in Buttered Tortillas

These are sooo good dripping with butter and topped with avocados....Reminds me of digging the "butter" out of the bone in chuck steak and spreading it on tortillas. This is good even with leftover steak. The amount of tortillas used depends on how thick you stuff them! The "resting" time for the meat is including in the cook time. -- posted by pines506

Marlboro Country Chicken Fried Steak (Country Fried)

This is true southern cuisine, the flavors in this recipe are a little more complex than the basic chicken fried steak. Not being a real Texan I don't like mine with gravy, but it would be blasphemy not to post the gravy recipe as well. This recipe also works well for venison (first soak meat in milk to remove the gamey taste). Makes excellent sandwiches the next day (serve leftovers on texas toast). Storing this recipe on Zaar cause I couldn't find it last time I had a craving! -- posted by MommyMakes

Skirt Steak Sandwich With Blue Gouda

Flavorful skirt steak is a great way to enjoy beef, especially when paired with creamy and piquant blue gouda cheese. Succulent grilled red & yellow peppers combine with tangy whole grain mustard and sweet red onion to make this sandwich an impressive meal. Serve with a simple crisp romaine salad topped with a light vinagrette dressing. I first tried this at the Whole Foods Market & then I found the recipe on their web site. The marinating time is not included in the cooking time, it is from 2-24 hours. -- posted by Manami

The Westerner Steak Sandwich

This is off of the Texas Beef web site. I made them last night, and they were quite good, except for the fact that I couldn't find any decent sub rolls, so I had to buy small French bread loaves which ended up making the sandwich more bread than beef, but try them. I also put slices of Muenster cheese on ours. -- posted by HEP MEP

Grilled Flank Steak, Onion and Bell Pepper Sandwiches

These are great sandwiches for a crowd during the summer. The ingredients marinate for a few hours, so you can make them ahead. Then, they go on the grill and cook very quickly. We also make these with flank steak leftovers by scaling the ingredients down. Time does not include marinating time. -- posted by lazyme

Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich

DELICIOUS! This is by far a wonderful sandwich when you are craving onions, melting cheese and steak! Very EASY preparation. Provolone cheese is the only kind to use in making this sandwich. I have used thinly sliced ribeye steak with success, but have listed deli roast beef in this recipe. We prefer mayonnaise and mustard as condiments to this sandwich which enhance the flavor. Note: In my area we have a restaurant named J. Michael's Philly Deli. This recipe is similar to his version and it's darn good! -- posted by Seasoned Cook
