I like to tuck a few fig leaves amongst the salad for colour........but please do wipe them first! Serve these figs with crusty bread, some mixed herb and salad leaves.......and a glass of chilled wine. 			<description>This is a nice and rich tahini-based salad dressing that goes great with romaine and butter lettuces, and also makes a nice garnish for falafels, veggie burgers, chickpea salads, and tons of other great vegetarian and/or Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes. Serve with pita breads as a snack or appetizer. I used packaged tahini paste that I bought from a gourmet foods store that happened to be really good, but you can probably make your own too. NOTE: the lemon juice amounts shown are correct! It is 1/4 liquid cup plus an extra tablespoon. Unlike traditional couscous, pearl couscous which takes its name from its pearl-like shape and size is often described as a toasted pasta specialty. Like regular pasta, it is made from hard (durum) wheat and water. But instead of being dried, it is toasted in an open flame oven. It has a rich, nutty flavour and a chewy texture, with a smooth, almost buttery mouth feel. It makes a perfect side dish to meat, poultry, or fish instead of potatoes, rice, or traditional pastas or couscous. It cooks in around 10 minutes by the absorption method  just like rice  and you can also use it in a variety of dishes  just like rice and other pastas. He says &amp;quot;If there is meat around, why waste the time on side dishes?&amp;quot;  He ate two HUGE servings of this......it is THAT good!  If you cannot find candied jalapenos, just use one small fresh jalapeno (seeded and minced) and a tablespoon of sugar....it is just as good.  We love curry, so we add more curry powder.  Taste it and customize it to your taste!
