Confetti Cole Slaw With Cilantro

This recipe is traditionally called "California Cole Slaw", but I made some changes by reworking the recipe. The pretty contrast of colors reminded me of confetti, hence the name. I found the original version "California Cole Slaw" recipe while going through my deceased mother-in-laws recipes. Thought I'd make a couple ingredient changes and wala. Here's the finished product. It is even kid friendly. Hope you enjoy it. -- posted by Chef Angie S.

Chopped Salad in Lettuce Cups

Now, I can make many different versions of salads to put into these lettuce cups. From ... Cobb, Mediterranean, chopped, traditional, lettuce tomato, onion ... or you can make a all vegetable salad, a Mexican black bean and corn salad, fruit salad, chicken, shrimp or crab salad. The method is the same. But I love serving these at dinner parties. My last one I served a version of a caesar salad and put them in lettuce cups and served at a dinner party. They were a big hit. So, my favorite is a simple chopped salad, I love the traditional version for this. -- posted by SarasotaCook

Easy Italian Dressing

I L.O.V.E using Italian dressing, but the store bought kind can be a little salty. I found this on another website, and it is so good... you'll want to put it on everything. You can very the dry ingredients, I use whatever I think smells good and whatever I have. Instead of a fancy bottle, I use a left-over dressing bottle to store it... double the "mixing" recipe and it works fine. The dry should last you a long time. -- posted by MamaMount

El Torito Southwestern Caesar Salad

El Torito Restaurant's Caesar salad has been a popular favorite for decades; I obtained the recipe in 1994 when it was published in the Los Angeles Times and have made it many times since.
Creamy Cucumber Salad Dressing

Delicious dairy-free version of cucumber dressing. I liked to use 2 small cucumbers, rather than 1 large because of the seeds. IF using a large or non-organic cucumber, make sure there is no wax on the peel, and scrap some of the seeds out! For a thicker, creamier dressing add more cashews and less water; for a thinner, lighter dressing add more water and fewer nuts. -- posted by Kozmic Blues

Gold Salad Dressing

This is a great salad dressing that I found in a raw cookbook. It's a thin dressing, but I think thin dressings coat the salad better. I use a little more honey than it calls for (about an extra tablespoon or so). I use an electric juicer to squeeze the lemons, which makes the prep time very quick.
Outback's Copycat Caesar Salad Dressing

I don't know what Outback's tastes like but this is the best Caesar Dressing I've ever had. This is bursting with flavor!
Andalouse French Fry / Burger Sauce

This is a fantastic sauce. It's similar to thousand island dressing although it uses fresh ingredients instead of a relish which gives it more of a gourmet twist. I put it on belgium frites, traditional french fries and hamburgers. I love it so much I've started keeping a jar in my fridge at all times. A good tip to finely blend all ingredients is to (carefully) use a cheese grater on the vegetables, that way you're using more of the juice from the vegetables. -- posted by OwlMonkey

Prosciutto/Chicken Breasts/Eggplant Panzanella/Raisinvinaigrette

"Chef Barbara Lynch's take on saltimbocca gets its richness from Taleggio* cheese, which is stuffed in the chicken breast. A slightly sweet bread salad is served with the chicken." Bon Appetit Magazine, September 2009 Edition. The real name of the dish is: Prosciutto-Wrapped Chicken Breasts with Eggplant Panzanella and Raisin-Pine Nut Vinaigrette - with "Taleggio cheese that is a semi-soft, washed-rind cheese from the Valtaleggio region in northern Italy, near Lombardy. It is characteristically aromatic yet mild in flavor and features tangy, meaty notes with a fruity finish. The texture of the cheese is moist-to-oozy with a very pleasant melt-in-your-mouth feel. The combination of the soft texture, pungent aroma, and buttery flavors has proven to be addictive especially when spread on fresh crusty bread! Taleggio pairs nicely with Italian Nebbiolo wines, as well as a wide range of reds & whites." Cooling times have not been included. -- posted by Manami

Caesar Dressing (From Carnival Cruise Lines)

Great dressing - it makes me look forward to eating salad. This recipe makes a HUGE batch of dressing, but this is hands down the BEST Caesar dressing I've ever eaten. Thankfully Carnival kindly provided the recipe to me upon request. I will be breaking this down into smaller increments to make here at home.

I have left measurements as I received them. You'll have to convert them from metric on your own. Or use the exact metric measurements for best results.

I wanted something a little different in the dressing so I improvised and we liked the results. I always use the packaged coleslaw mix because I am lazy!
This calls for Miracle Whip, but mayonnaise can be used as well. I don't care for very creamy coleslaw so if you do just make a little more dressing. The time does not include the refrigeration time for the dressing. If you are counting points, as on WW, this is 3 points using light Miracle Whip and Splenda. -- posted by carole in orlando

Creamy Greek Salad Dressing

A couple of my favorite Greek restaraunts of all time serve their salads with a creamy Greek dressing. I assumed it was a common occurance until I started searching for recipes so I could duplicate it at home. I'm so happy to have finally found one on this site (Recipe #59898)! All the non-creamy dressings are too tart for me (and believe me, I've tried several)...this one hits the spot!! The credit for this recipe should be given to evelyn/athens...mine is only a slight modification of hers.
Gazpacho Shrimp Salad

This is great to serve anytime! Makes a great lunch and a fine dinner if you toss a little wine and a loaf of crusty bread in the deal! You can use whatever vinegar you like, and can add, after tasting, more. Nakano makes several seasoned vinegars that are scrumptious! Smoked paprika is one of the best seasonings I've ever used; you can't believe how fragrant it is nd the taste is amazing. However, having said that, it is very pricey. I cannot advise you excpept to tell you that without it, the recipe won't taste the same. -- posted by FLUFFSTER

Sarasota's Creamy Maple Brandy Salad Dressing

Serve over some greens (romaine, spinach or arugula) with fall fruits, apples, pears, cranberries, nuts, caramelized onions, even blackberries or raspberries are great with this and crumble some blue cheese, gorgorzola, goat cheese, grated fontina or swiss - the combinations are endless. It is just a great dressing. My favorite salad happens to be; candied walnuts, romaine, blackberries, roasted pears, and caramelized onions. It doesn't get much better.
