Pink Lamingtons

Entered for safe-keeping for ZWT. From Marie Claire. This is the most popular Australian snack, a sure winner at a bake sale. And is it easy! The more traditional Lamingtons have cocoa, but dare to be different. If using cornmeal, pulverize it in a food processor to get a fine flour texture. Preparation time includes 8-hours sitting time. -- posted by KateL

Sheila's Swedish Creme

This is a "must have" on our Christmas dessert table, but it is equally as good any time of year, or for any occasion. Although I use berries, it is wonderful with all different fresh fruits, such as kiwi or peaches. It is also very versatile and can be layered with fruit in a parfait dish if you prefer, nestled in a puff pastry or dessert shell, or set in a mold. We always serve it in one large stemmed glass bowl. Preparation time does not include chilling time. -- posted by JackieOhNo!

High Fiber, Low Calorie Raspberry Pear Green Smoothie

Green smoothies sound gross, but believe me, with fruit added, they are sweet and tasty, and unbelievably healthy. Not to mention you are getting lots of water, which helps fill you up more and studies show most Americans do not drink enough (thus making them more likely to eat more food.) Anyway, it's a really good and versatile drink, and I found a bunch of recipes that I've altered in a book I got called, Green For Life.
Old-Fashioned English Summer Berry Jelly and Ice Cream!

Little wibbly-wobbly ruby red jellies with mixed summer berries, so cooling and great with ice cream. There is nothing I love more than taking a basket to the end of my garden to pick an assortment of ripe summer berries when they are in season! The sense of satisfaction at picking your own fruit is wonderful. Although I have called these little jellies “English” summer berry jellies, I DO make these in France of course - it's just that the berries remind me of my grandparent's gardens and picking the fruit when I was little…………...plus, the combination of berries is the same as a traditional English Summer Pudding recipe! I make these in little vintage metal moulds, they look so pretty served this way; you can of course make this recipe in a large mould, but DO allow extra time for the jelly to set. -- posted by French Tart

The Original Bisquick® Strawberry Shortcakes

The original Old Fashioned Shortcake recipe appeared on the first Bisquick® box in 1931. It's said that an advertising slogan promised – “Here’s the Kind of Strawberry Shortcake Your Husband Will Rave About.” Shortcakes are the sweet cousin of the dinner bisquit, and these easy-to-prepare treats have stood the test of time in my family. It started with my mom who made her Bisquick® strawberry shortcakes with her garden grown strawberries and REAL homemade whipping cream. Some thirty years later my sistes and I are still baking up these sweet treats. -- posted by Feast Your Eyes!

Bergamot Fresh Fruit Salad With Scented Pelargonium Leaves

This fruit salad is amazing, and all the more for the addition of bergamot leaves and flowers! The fragrant leaves of this versatile herb delicately flavour the syrup whilst the gorgeous shaggy red flowers and scented pelargonium leaves decorate it for the final finishing flourish! If you are a lover of Earl Gray tea, you will instantly recognise the flavour of this herb, as it is used to flavour this famous and popular tea blend.
NOTE: Bergamot, often referred to as bee balm, became distinguished as "Oswego Tea" when a Quaker botanist, John Bartram, sampled a tea made from the leaves. A Bergamot lemon is a small yellow sour citrus fruit similar to an orange, mostly cultivated in Calabria in Italy. The rind contains an essential oil used in perfumery (the basis for eau-de-cologne), confectionary and Earl Grey tea. The zest is also used in pâtisserie. NB: Prep time includes cooling time. -- posted by French Tart

Berry Smooth Shake Smoothie

This is my favourite smoothie recipe! My kids love it, which is even better. Oddly, I originally found it on a website providing camping tips for the Freeman River campground in Alberta. I haven't yet figured out how to get my blender to work in my tent, but the recipe is a big hit in my kitchen at home. I've also done this with strawberries, which were tasty. The fruit doesn't necessarily have to be frozen. -- posted by Mctet

Red Hot Pepper Jam for Those That Like It Real Hot!!!!!!!!!!

Now you though my Recipe #99942, Recipe #95424, Recipe #68981 was hot! You should try this if you dare! This is eye tearing mouth burning. I used 3 yes 3 ghost peppers and 5 habaneros. Ghost peppers are 100 times hotter then habaneros.
I used red raspberries, red bells, and apple and pomegranate juice to bring more red to this so no need for food coloring.

Berry Yoghurt Smoothie

I got this recipe from Sarah Owen's book "The Top 100 juices", published by Lifetime Distributers, Castle Hill, Australia.
Sarah Owen says "The super-nutrient vitamin C is needed for more than 300 diferent processes in the body, but it is easily wiped out by smoking, pollution and stress. Found in abundance in berries, vitamin C and other antioxidants help to quash the damaging free radicals that are associated with many illnesses."
The original recipe calls for natural bio yoghurt to be used, but any yoghurt will do.
This makes a large amount of smoothie, and if you're making it just for yourself, I'ld recommend halving it.
I hope you enjoy this healthy - but still tasty - smoothie :) -- posted by TALIA #3
