Prohibition Classic Cocktail

You can add some soda to this if you need to, but this is no bathtub cocktail! During Prohibition you cannot waste your time drinking a lighter drink. Lillet is a blend of rigorously selected wines and fruit liqueurs, aged in oak vats for around 12 months. Lillet Blanc has a golden color with candied orange, honey, pine resin, lime and fresh mint aromas. This is the stuff in the James Bond cocktails like the Vesper. -- posted by Jess4Freedom

Prohibition Party Punch

This recipe is from an old cookbook I found. Homemade wine or beer was legal as long as it contained no more than one-half per cent alcohol. From Every Woman's Cook Book by Mrs. Chas. F. Moritz (1926) p. 617. If you can find a bootlegger in your area, I think some rum or whiskey would really perk this up. This recipe makes a LOT! Please keep this in mind when preparing this party punch for your local Speakeasy :) -- posted by Jess4Freedom

New Year's Day Punch

The flavor of this can vary greatly depending on the flavors you choose for jello and juice. Choose some favorites and give it a try.
Cranberry Cornucopia Sangria

Adapted from "Peterson's Holiday Helper," by Valerie Peterson (Clarkson Potter, 2008). This is a blend of all the favorite holiday flavors, not really a true sangria. You can use a sparkling cider or grape juice, or even a champagne if you'd like to. Cherries are an excellent addition to this drink as well. This is best left to sit for overnight to let the flavors blend well. -- posted by Jess4Freedom

Red Punch in a Rush

It doesn't get any easier than THIS! It's red, and the kids LOVE it. Thought it up on my own, when I needed punch for my son's party years ago. You can add other things, but it is fine as is. I served it at an adult Christmas party, and THEY liked it,too. Store brands of bottled punch and soda work every bit as well as the national brands for this punch. -- posted by AWestCoastYost

Beat Em to the Punch

This stuff LOOKS like beer, with a foamy head, but it is NON-ALCOHOLIC, with a not-too-sweet flavor. It is light and refreshing. Recipe can be greatly multiplied easily. I got it from my mother, who used to serve it all the time, and now goes for the creamy type punches. It is fast and easy to make, too. A single recipe makes about 90 ounces, or 22 half cup servings (if you have the small punch cups), and the recipe can be multiplied as many times as you like. -- posted by AWestCoastYost

I made this yummy pink punch for my daughter's 5th birthday party last year. We had a Princess theme. It was a big hit with everyone. For the adults, you can just add a little rum or vodka directly to their glasses and stir. Malibu Rum is especially good in this. I made fruit punch ice cubes which looked really pretty floating around in the punch. -- posted by Realtor by day, Chef by night

Ruby Relaxer - Ruby Tuesday Copycat

This light and fruity drink is perfect for sipping on a summer afternoon. An undeniable girly drink (not to say that guys should not enjoy it as well), it has no taste of alcohol, nor the cloying aftertaste that some overly sweet drinks have. This recipe can easily be multiplied to make a crowd-pleasing punch for your next shower, party, brunch, etc. The brands listed are those that Ruby Tuesday lists on their drink menu (how nice of them to tell us what is in their drink so that we can come home and make it ourselves!) -- posted by Oenophilly

Punch With Floating Worm Ice

This was a hit at our murder mystery party. It's really supposed to be a creepy-crawly punch for Halloween gatherings because kids love the gummy worms in the ice cubes. It's super simple and a lot of fun. You could just make the ice cubes and serve it in any beverage to make it more interesting. I found the recipe on betterrecipes.com. Cook time excludes ice cube freezing time. -- posted by AmyZoe

Sardo Punch

Mirto means myrtle in English. The myrtle bush has small pointy leaves, and dark berries similar to wild huckleberries.I don't know exactly what's in mirto, I think that the term is used interchangably for foods flavored with the leaves or the berries. From Healthy Italian Hors d’Oeuvres published in the October 2008 edition of F&W Magazine. They say that Amaro means bitter in Italian & the quintessential after dinner cordial ;) so a punch made with it can't be bad. Saw this recipe and am putting it here for safekeeping. Watch out it can be lethal!!! -- posted by Manami

The Best Party Punch Ever!

This recipe will make enough green punch to fill an average size punch bowl. If you are entertaining a large number of people and feel that you need to make more, just multiply all of the ingredients, with the exception of the sherbet. Recently I made this punch for my nephew's first birthday party. To serve aprrox. 50 guests, I multiplied the recipe by 4. Results vary depending on the size of the cups. To change the color of the punch, substitute a different flavor of Kool-aid with a MATCHING color of sherbet. (The two colors must match, othewise, the punch will turn brown.) -- posted by BeanPole

Firefly Juice (Punch)

One of the best days that my son had in Kindergarden was the day his teacher made Firefly Juice! My picky 5 year old had his teacher write out the recipe and brought the delicious mixture home from school. This recipe is for a large batch, but we also can make a glass at a time just using smaller amounts. We love it! It's really is good! Cute name. Easy. Fun. Enjoy! -- posted by Jennibear

Ahead of time, freeze the water or lemonade in a ring mold to make an ice ring. For a specially festive touch, place whole strawberries in the ring before adding the liquid and freezing.
Frozen Festive Vodka or Tequila Bottles With Herbs and Berries

Another GREAT Jamie Oliver recipe, and one that I am preparing for New Year's Eve! Jamie says you can use any spirits or liquor, but he suggestes vodka and tequila in his recipe. These bottles look SO festive and pretty, I plan to use holly, berries, bay leaves, fruit slices, ivy and woody herbs for my bottles this year. DO check that the liquor bottle fits INSIDE the plastic water bottle first! This recipe idea for serving liquor originates from Scandinavia.
