Hot Spiced Holiday Punch

Sipping on a warm mug of this always feels like a holiday to me! Starting with Thanksgiving, through Christmas, and ending on New Year's Day, I always start any holiday gathering with this treat, and just keep it warm in the crockpot all day long. It is fabulous. -- posted by JackieOhNo!

Cointreau Fruit Punch

While looking thru my holiday recipes, I came across an old favorite. Totally forgot about this one. I'm adding it to my beverage collection so I don't forget it again. This makes a great Adult Punch. I've made an ice ring with the cranberry juice in a jello ring and add it to the punch before serving. Keeps it from getting watered down and looks pretty in a punch bowl. This has Contreau in it, but you can use OJ or even Triple Sec. Whichever you prefer. Half the recipe for 4 servings easily. -- posted by Vseward (Chef~V)

Almond Tofu

This is a very popular dessert dish in Asian countries. It's easy, simple, and refreshing! It doesn't actually use tofu, but it's white and cubed, which resembles tofu, hence its name. Give it a try, I have shared this with many of my non-Asian friends and they all loved it and gave rave reviews! -- posted by Cabnolen

Prohibition Party Punch

This recipe is from an old cookbook I found. Homemade wine or beer was legal as long as it contained no more than one-half per cent alcohol. From Every Woman's Cook Book by Mrs. Chas. F. Moritz (1926) p. 617. If you can find a bootlegger in your area, I think some rum or whiskey would really perk this up. This recipe makes a LOT! Please keep this in mind when preparing this party punch for your local Speakeasy :) -- posted by Jess4Freedom

Cranberry Cornucopia Sangria

Adapted from "Peterson's Holiday Helper," by Valerie Peterson (Clarkson Potter, 2008). This is a blend of all the favorite holiday flavors, not really a true sangria. You can use a sparkling cider or grape juice, or even a champagne if you'd like to. Cherries are an excellent addition to this drink as well. This is best left to sit for overnight to let the flavors blend well. -- posted by Jess4Freedom

From the 'New Idea: ultimate barbecue cookbook'. I haven't made this yet but it sounds SO delicious and what a nifty way of getting juice and zest into the drink without having to grate the limes! Sounds also like a great Christmas Day - or any other festive occasion - drink and particularly a welcome cooling drink on a hot day, whether it's served at a BBQ or indoors! -- posted by bluemoon downunder

Anne's Lip Smackin' Sangria

Years ago Mom compiled a family cook book for my eldest sister when she went off to college. What has become of the final version I don't know, needless to say its gone. However I've got Mom's notes. I'm attempting to save these recipes by posting them here. Any of Mom's special notes I'll include in parenthesis. But needless to say some of these are not complete recipes. Enjoy! I haven't made this in a long time so the yield and and cook times are based purely on my memories.

I made this yummy pink punch for my daughter's 5th birthday party last year. We had a Princess theme. It was a big hit with everyone. For the adults, you can just add a little rum or vodka directly to their glasses and stir. Malibu Rum is especially good in this.
Ruby Relaxer - Ruby Tuesday Copycat

This light and fruity drink is perfect for sipping on a summer afternoon. An undeniable girly drink (not to say that guys should not enjoy it as well), it has no taste of alcohol, nor the cloying aftertaste that some overly sweet drinks have. This recipe can easily be multiplied to make a crowd-pleasing punch for your next shower, party, brunch, etc. The brands listed are those that Ruby Tuesday lists on their drink menu (how nice of them to tell us what is in their drink so that we can come home and make it ourselves!) -- posted by Oenophilly

Sardo Punch

Mirto means myrtle in English. The myrtle bush has small pointy leaves, and dark berries similar to wild huckleberries.I don't know exactly what's in mirto, I think that the term is used interchangably for foods flavored with the leaves or the berries. From Healthy Italian Hors d’Oeuvres published in the October 2008 edition of F&W Magazine. They say that Amaro means bitter in Italian & the quintessential after dinner cordial ;) so a punch made with it can't be bad. Saw this recipe and am putting it here for safekeeping. Watch out it can be lethal!!! -- posted by Manami

OMG! My friend in Germany took my to a Thai restaurant that had lemonade with ginger and basil. I thought to myself "What a wacky combination!" So I decided to try it. OMG! OMG! The ground moved, the clouds parted and I heard angel voices singing in 4 part harmony. It was that good.

This, is as close as I can come to replicate that glass of beverage perfection I found in Germany. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do. If you prefer, the tea can be prepared and chilled 1 day ahead (Step 4), just cover and keep chilled in the refrigerator.
This is a very simple, quick recipe that I put together with what I happened to have available. The result is quite tasty! The splenda is partly for offsetting the tartness from the citrus fruit wedges in the drink- if you don't use citrus fruits in the punch, taste test it before adding any sweetener.
Lavender and Strawberry Fruit Cup from Wolds Way Lavender Farm

A boozy lavender fruit cup made with vermouth, herbs and fresh strawberries! How good is that! This is another gem of a recipe that I discovered on a recipe card from Wolds Way Lavender Farm in North Yorkshire, England – which is just 10 minutes from my parent's cottage. The delicately flavoured drink is the perfect way to unwind after a long, hard day........It is almost better than Pimms, and, as Pimms is my favourite summertime tipple, that is really saying something!
White Sangria

Fresh, sweet and fruity - goes well with tapas or as a light cocktail, I even drink it with paella! Slightly different from the traditional one which calls for red wine, but I just can't drink red wine when it's too hot outside, so I tried with white wine and it turned out just as great.
Feel free to sub any other type of fruit according to season or taste, and where possible use liqueurs that match. -- posted by AdriMicina

Frozen Festive Vodka or Tequila Bottles With Herbs and Berries

Another GREAT Jamie Oliver recipe, and one that I am preparing for New Year's Eve! Jamie says you can use any spirits or liquor, but he suggestes vodka and tequila in his recipe. These bottles look SO festive and pretty, I plan to use holly, berries, bay leaves, fruit slices, ivy and woody herbs for my bottles this year. DO check that the liquor bottle fits INSIDE the plastic water bottle first! This recipe idea for serving liquor originates from Scandinavia.
