Easy Overnight Ooey-Gooey Pull-Apart Caramel Rolls

These should be illegal they are so darn delicious! --- for 16 rolls I suggest to use only a tube pan and do not use one with a removable middle, you could use a bundt pan but you will need to reduce the amount of yeast rolls to about 12 or they will rise over your bundt pan --- make certain to generously grease your pan, I use my recipe#78579 nothing will stick with this! --- start this the night before there is an overnight rising time -- do not use instant pudding for this :) -- posted by KITTENCAL

Basic Muffins (With Variation Options)

This is a basic muffin recipe that you can either leave plain or add other favorite ingredients to make them special. They are very easy and fast to make. It is great when you want to make a ton of muffins but want each batch to have a different flavor.

I got this recipe from a very old cook book of my moms. she always baked from it and every recipe from it is absolutely yummy. Its called "Quick Breads" -- posted by CherryT

Savoury Chickpea Onion Biscuits

Gluten-free, sugar-free, corn-free, soy-free, vegan! I was on a crazy diet and sharing my food with friends who have allergies, so I developed these. The rice and chickpea combination makes a complete balance of essential amino acids, so it's good vegan food too. Oh, and they taste awesome.
I like brown rice flour, but you could easily substitute white rice flour. I love onions, but you could use less or omit this ingredient entirely if you don't share my enthusiasm. Sometimes I also add garlic for good measure.
They are best hot out of the oven, but do okay cooled. I've also tried freezing these with good luck - making a double-batch on the weekend and bagging them 2-3 at a time for use during the week. -- posted by wormwood

Pumpkin Banana Zucchini Spice Bread

I've been working on perfecting this recipe for a few years. If my family & extended family's picky toddlers & even pickier teens who'll literally LIVE on it while it lasts are any indication... then by goodness I think I've got it! So easily interchangeable with whatever you have on hand. Ex: Pumpkana; Nanacchini; Zumpkin... I have no end of fun inventing names for various mixes lol & of course you can always use just pumpkin, just bananas, etc. -- posted by Ozarkldy

Chocolate Monkey Bread

This recipe was featured in an email today from the www.kingarthurflour.com website. The picture looks incredibly yummy!
"We've never been partial to chocolate bread; somehow, this cross between cake and white bread seems to fall short on both counts. But coat vanilla-scented white bread with a ground chocolate/sugar/cocoa combo, and you've got another animal entirely. The bread retains its soft, faintly sweet character. And the chocolate, rather than coming across as dull or bitter as it so often does in chocolate bread, fairly sings in concert with its soft, yeasty partner. Read our blog about this bread, with additional photos, at Bakers' Banter." Here is one of the reviews from the website - I first made this several years ago for my family's traditional Christmas brunch, and everyone loved it. It is now required on the table every year! It is to die for! -- posted by senseicheryl

Quick & Easy Gourmet Corn Muffins

I wanted a corn muffin recipe I could double and triple easily to bring to our Thanksgivings this year. Finances are tight so I wanted to make something that tasted and looked more expensive and gourmet than it really was. I remembered having some delicious gourmet corn muffins at a breakfast a few years ago with real corn kernels that were very sweet and moist and I wanted to make that deliciousness for everyone else.

They turned out wonderful and picky DBF requested I make them again. Major compliments everywhere. A definite crowd pleaser!!!! (and very simple per Jiffy box). I recommend doubling the ingredients to make 16 because these are yummy and disappear fast! :)

I made 5 batches for thanksgiving so $2.15 for the 5 Jiffy boxes $1.00 for the eggs (and I had extras to make breakfast for days) $1.50 for the cans of creamed corn and I had milk, honey, and spices on hand. I spent about $4.65 for 40 yummy corn muffins so not too shabby! I guess I'm sort of the "Frugal Gourmet." lol -- posted by Kikiloveshercop

American-Style Panettone

From the www.kingarthurflour.com website. If you refer to the website, there are step-by-step instructions that include pictures that could prove very helpful!
"Ah, panettone! That ubiquitous (at Christmas) sweet bread of Milan, golden, high-rising, studded with citron and citrus peel - yuck! If that's your reaction, it's probably because a) you haven't had a good panettone, made the traditional way with a starter, or b) you just don't like citron and candied peel. If this reaction (and its possible causes) is yours, read on. We often use a biga (overnight starter) when making ciabatta or other Italian loaves; we feel it helps bring out the wheat flavor in breads that might otherwise seem a bit plain. But in a sweet bread, loaded with sugar, butter and fruit - who needs a biga?

Well, as it turns out, panettone made with a biga has a moist, fine texture, and rises better than anything with that amount of sugar and fat has a right to. Though the dough still needs a big kick of instant yeast, the biga gives it the strength to take off and rise, despite the sugar and fat doing their best to retard the whole process.

And as for the fruit: our version uses our favorite combination of dried fruits: no citron, no peel. And, instead of the traditional tall, round loaf pan, which often results in a raw center and burned crust, we suggest the use of a tube or monkey bread pan, such as we use here." -- posted by senseicheryl

Hg's Top Banana Bread - Ww Points = 2

From Hungry Girl: "Go Bananas!
Banana bread typically has pretty horrific nutritionals, so we set out to create a guilt-free version. And (tada!) here it is. FYI, if you're looking for a cake-tastic sweet treat with a POINTS® value of 2*, a fat slice of this stuff topped with Cool Whip Free is the way to go..."
Serving Size: 1 (thick!) slice
Calories: 140
Fat: 0.5g
Sodium: 267mg
Carbs: 31g
Fiber: 3.75g
Sugars: 7g
Protein: 5g

POINTS® value 2*

NOTE: On 3/1/2009, I decided to make these into muffins instead of bread. The batch made 9 muffins which I baked for exactly 28 minutes. I calculated the points and they are 2 points for each muffin. :-) -- posted by senseicheryl

Club Sandwich - Baked

If you ever have the pleasure to come to a family or friends gathering in Iceland you will be able to try this. If you think your chances are not that high for that, try it for yourself. This is such an easy crowd pleaser, you will be amazed!
12 ounces are about 340 grames which makes 1-2 packages. I prefere it not to be too rich. You can use plain cream cheese or cream cheese with herbs.
You can leave the ham and use sliced and panfried mushrooms instead.
If you want the sandwhich to be higher, only pour half of the mixture onto the bread, then add onother layer of bread and finish as stated below. -- posted by Iceland

Easier Than the Easiest Chocolate Croissants

Yep - that's code for SUPER easy. :) My family traveled to France when I was little and these were on the BREAKFAST buffet! Every kid's dream!!! I made sure to eat one *every* morning. Chocolate for breakfast? That is only something a kid can get away with while in a foreign country - at least in my family! Now that I am a bit older, I no longer seek the adrenaline rush of breaking the breakfast routine, and I prefer to occasionally make these as a potluck contribution.
Focaccia Flat Bread Homemade (Bread Machine)

An Italian flatbread brushed with olive oil and flavored with grated Parmesan cheese, galic salt and grated Italian Seasoning makes this bread heavenly. A good friend of mine brought this over for Sunday Night football. We cut it into squares and topped with Prosciutto Panino rolled in Mozzarella cheese and toasted under the broiler for 5 min.... oh my, this is dangerously good! It is so easy to make. Can't wait to have this with a bowl of soup or top with Pizza topping, or to just dip in garlic olive oil. This comes from a bread machine cookbook with instructions to layer ingredients liquid first. Yummers! :) Family Favorite!
Spicy Cheesy Corn Muffins

This is a very easy way to make spicy and cheesy corn muffins that would be great served on their own (as a snack) or with soup. The best thing is that the ingredients are very cheap!! I came up with this while playing around with Jiffy corn muffin mix which costs $0.45 at my grocery store. Sriracha is a chili sauce that you can get at Wal-Mart for a couple of bucks. It's very spicy and will last you a very long time. -- posted by PillsburyPimp

Gingerbread Loaf

This can be made with or without a butter sauce (butter sauce will be posted separately). I made this when I received my Christmas present from my mother: a gingerbread man loaf pan from Nordic Ware! -- posted by SnoBahr

Coconut Bread

A yummy sweet savory bread/cake treat, great when you accompany it with your favorite cup of coffee.. You can bake in either a cake pan or bread pan. It takes about 45-50 minutes to bake, this makes about 2 full size loaves, and 4 small ones. -- posted by Chef #1487768

Deluxe Cornbread Dressing Casserole (Big Batch)

An old family recipe that's been tweaked little by little over the last 100 years. This makes 2 large pans about 1/2-3/4 filled. To relieve holiday stress make the pre-cooked dressing the week before Thanksgiving and freeze. Use one pan for Thanksgiving and one for Christmas. Begin defrosting 2 days before in the refrigerator. I split the prep process between 2 days. On the first day make the cornbread, boil the fryer, pick the meat and save the broth. The second day assemble and freeze. For OAMC split dressing into even smaller portions; may need to reduce bake time.

My picture is of a smaller baked portion. -- posted by gailanng

Killer Banana Bars

Absolutely addictive! These bars are moist, light, and fluffy like a quick bread (rather than dense like a brownie). They have a slight sweet/salty thing going on that takes them to the next level. Make a pan and watch them disappear! These are a huge hit at potlucks.

You can double this recipe and bake in at 13x9-in. pan.

Variation: For outrageously good pumpkin bars, substitute canned pumpkin for the banana and add 1 tsp. fresh grated ginger. Outstanding!

Savory Loaf (Abm)

I've baked this 5 times before I posted it on RecipeZaar. It's a big hit with my friends and family. It's wonderful for ham & cheese sandwiches, or sopping up the bowl from beef or chicken stew. I've made it both with sugar and with honey, with margarine and with butter. The cooking time is a guess on my part, as I set the machine to bake and fugeddabouddit. Do give it at LEAST three hours to do its thing. -- posted by SnoBahr

Easy Bake Herb and Garlic Bread

I attended a cooking demonstration by Lisa Brink of Hod Hasharon. Lisa has her own cooking blog, www.deliciouskitchen.weebly.com, and has some wonderful ideas about cooking and presentation. This recipe comes from her Take Five class, recipes which contain five main ingredients and take five minutes to prepare. This bread was delicous, soft and yummy and devoured by everyone in the class, even the carbophobes! -- posted by Mirj
