Cherry Pie

Pie Filling from Frozen Sweet Cherries

This recipe is from an old cookbook from about 1960. You can add almond extract or Kirsch to the filling if you like almond flavoring. I usually add about a tablespoon of Kirsch.
Upside Down Cherry Crumb Cheesecake

If you really want to impress your guests or family with a dessert then this is it! This is a never-fail pie that I have made on many occasions, it's absolutely fantastic! --- plan ahead the pie needs to chill for a minimum of 8 hours before serving --- it's also wonderful even without the chocolate-dipped cherries, the first time I made it I did use the cherries, the second time I made this I just drizzled the melted chocolate on the cold pie, then dolluped whipped cream around the edge of the pie :) -- posted by KITTENCAL

Cherry-Red Raspberry Pie

I watched the National Pie Championships held by the American Pie Council on TV last night and had to look this recipe up today! It was torture watching the judges eat this delicious looking pie! They raved about her crust as well. This pie won "Best of Show" for Phyllis Bartholomew. In fact she pretty much cleaned up in all the categories. It looks pretty simple and clear-cut, I guess this is a good example of less is more. Her recipe uses canned sour cherries, but if you wish to substitute fresh sweet cherries, you can always reduce the amount of sugar and add a little lemon juice to taste...it should work fine with this recipe. This pie is extra pretty with a lattice top. -- posted by NcMysteryShopper

Best-Of-Show Cherry Pie

Hosted a 4-H Food Project meeting at my home featuring "Fall Produce". Although I had planned to use pumpkins, apples and cranberries for the from-scratch fillings, I figured this is another way to make a pie (from the can). She made a beautiful job of it by putting a lattice top-crust on it, then glazing with an egg wash, and sprinkling with baker's sugar crystals. When it came out of the oven, the kids and I decided this was "Best of Show" -- it was so pretty and perfectly beautiful. -- posted by Debber

Cherry Crisp Pie

I was in the mood for cherry pie but didn't want to make pie crust, so I improvised and made a cherry crisp in pie form. The recipe calls for fresh cherries, but you could substitute canned pie filling if they happen to be out-of-season. We liked this pie served a la mode and thought the sweetness of the crust and topping was a good balance with the tartness of the cherries. -- posted by MarthaStewartWanabe

These indvidual cherry pies are made beautifully fragrant with marzipan and a hint of rosewater. My own recipe! Good enough to serve at the end of a dinner party with whipped double cream or vanilla ice cream (in which case, I'd suggest 2 pies each).
