Simple Pasta Salad

The amounts given here are just to start you off. The prep time is just a rough guess as well.
Algerian Tli Tli B'djedj - Pasta With Chicken!

This is our family recipe for the very traditional Algerian dish tli tli. You can make tli tli with chicken or meat - the meat recipe is slightly different & I will post it later. You can use any tiny pasta for this but traditionally homemade tli til pasta OR orzo / bird's tongue that is used. My kids love it when I use the tiny stars or shells also. Traditionally we steam the pasta for this but you can cook it for 4 minutes or so in plenty of lighty salted water before adding the sauce - the pasta needs to absorb quite a bit of the sauce so keep it undercooked.. -- posted by Um Safia

Fire Island Veggie Pasta

Great as a summer bounty recipe, green beans, squash, herbs and tomatoes and other garden veggies. This was my brother's favorite pasta dish, great times and good food served on Fire Island. The crunch of fresh green beans and yummy melted cheese brings this easy veggie dish to life. Feel free to use any "in season" veggies like squash, eggplant, etc. Adding the cheese to the HOT veggies and pasta makes this dish a creamy delight. As reviewed... one chef used grilled veggies... what a great idea!!!! -- posted by BakinBaby

Baked Sausage-Stuffed Jumbo Pasta Shells

A Canadian Living hit with the Ontario ZAARians, at our Annual Appy-fest. While this recipe actually calls for mild Italian sausge I used Bajan-seasoning called Delish-Dish in a meatball stuffing. I doubt that many ZAARians have "Bajan Delish-Dish" in their pantry. To stay true to the original recipe, therefore, I shall post the recipe as it appears in Canadian Living.. I like the recipe because of the ease with which ingredients combine to produce an interestingly flavourful filling.
Eric's Pasta Salad With Tuna and Peas

This recipe came about at the last minute on Memorial Day. I needed something to take a to a barbeque, but didn't want to go to the store. My husband suggested shells, tuna and peas, all things we had on hand. I thought, ewww, sounds gross in the heat, but, I whipped it together. It was a huge hit. So much so our kids, my sisters and niece request it frequently. I'm estimating the measurements for the dressing, as I don't usually measure. -- posted by nanner18411

Despite the fact that my two young children go through picky phases, they have decided that they both LOVE this pasta. DS especially can't get enough of the stuff & I am very happy as it's a healthy, filling meal suitable for all the family. I use the wholewheat tiny pasta shells (sold as conchigliette) but you can use any small pasta really. We like to serve this with a green salad & crusty bread!
Ultimate Vegetable Stuffed Shells

This was sent to me by a friend a couple of years back. And according to her ... she found it on the web. Being a vegetarian she was always looking for some unique ways to enjoy traditional dishes since her boyfriend was a "meat eater.". Now her pasta, and cheeses were tailored to her diet requirements so I tailored it to mine. Now if you want, you are welcome to make your own tomato sauce, etc. and I do sometimes, but there are some quality pasta sauces out there. When my tomato plants are flourishing, absolutely make my own sauce. I changed a few ingredients, but these are definitely worth it. It is a little work but so well worth it and you will certainly have leftovers. I served a chilled romaine salad with a blue cheese vinaigrette and some crusty Italian bread with a basil butter.

This is good for a weekend dinner, or company. They also freeze very well. -- posted by SarasotaCook
