			<description>This is an absolute favorite of mine and is a staple at all of my Christmas parties...wouldn't quite be one without them! They have a little bit of heat, balanced by the sour cream, and the combination of crunchy edges on corners of the wonton skins with the chewiness of the portion that cups the filling makes for a wonderful sensation. 			<description>In November 2009, my husband and I were delighted to be able to have Sunday brunch at Chef John Besh's restaurant, La Provence, in Lacombe, Louisiana. We fell in love with everything we ate that day, and I purchased a signed copy of Chef Besh's cookbook &amp;quot;My New Orleans&amp;quot;. Our waitress was wonderful; the manager was personable &amp;amp; friendly.  We even chatted with the head chef, Erick Loos IV, and he signed my cookbook, too. We also had a wonderful drink - an Old Fashioned. Unfortunately, the recipe for this drink was not in the cookbook. So I emailed the restaurant and they graciously sent me their recipe. We make the recipe as stated, even for our small family, because of all the wonderful leftover ham recipes on RecipeZaar! 			<description>I don't know if my friend Lorena made up her own recipe for this popular drink or if she got it from someone, but she's who I got it from- so she gets the credit!  This is a great, sorta spicy but refreshing beer cocktail that pairs well with Salt &amp;amp; Vinegar chips and Mexican Novellas!  Sort of like a Mexican Bloody Mary..  All the ingredients are adjustable to your own taste; want it spicier?  Add more hot sauce.  Tangier?  More lemon! 			<description>While this recipe calls for summer vegetables, my brother and SIL prepared it for Christmas dinner 2009 and I loved it.  Good as a vegetarian main dish or a side.  It's not quite the same as other vegetable gratins already on RecipeZaar.  Personally, I would make this with less olive oil, the amount of which I specified in the ingredients, but you can use the original amount if you prefer (just convert teaspoons to tablespoons).  This can also be made ahead after assembly and before baking.  Just pre-heat the oven.  Try to buy the zucchini and squash of roughly the same diameter.  I might serve this with bread to soak up the juices.  To make this vegan, omit the parmesan cheese. 			<description>I don't know about you, but I'm a bit of a soup and salad person, and once a week I have just a salad or soup/salad, soup/sammy for dinner rather than a heavy dinner. I make this quite often and serve it with a bowl of my potato soup or my chick pea soup, but you can use whatever you like best. Slice a few good fresh tomatoes or some fresh fruit if you prefer, and you have a great easy dinner. Two (2) nights a week, I really try to eat a bit lighter - and this fits the bill. But, it also makes an amazing appetizer, or a great side dish for any meal during the week. Simply put, it is just really good.  Now whatever you do ... don't get rid of that cheese - Save!  It makes a great spread on baguettes or makes an amazing spread for a sandwich. 			<description>An old-fashioned treat, this is a fabulous way to use up left over ham, although I have also put some freshly cooked ham aside especially for this when I have baked a ham for Christmas, Easter or another special occasion. The ham is finely minced and mixed through with old-fashioned spices and butter, and it keeps for several weeks in a cool place. Another name for this recipe is Potted Meat, and it was VERY popular in Victorian times, although recipes for potted meats (preserved under butter) goes back even further than that historically. Wonderful in sandwiches for the teatime table or for picnics, lunch boxes and festive buffets. This is an adapted recipe from Mrs Beetons Book of Household Management, where she suggests that this is a nice addition for the Breakfast or Luncheon table. Serve with sliced breads of all types, oatcakes, toast, bread rolls, and crackers or with salad, chutneys, mustard and pickles.  NB: Use a good cooked ham on the bone for this recipe: the sort carved by hand at the deli and old-fashioned butchers.
