The Yogurt Shoppe Cafe Ranch Chicken

The Yogurt Shoppe Cafe is in Columbus Georgia and was established in 1987. Ranch Chicken is one of the popular items on the menu amongst many other delicious home cooked meals.
One of my friends came upon the recipe in a local magazine and was kind enough to share it with me so I just couldn't wait to share it with you.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. -- posted by Bay Laurel

Nif's Cure for Stinky Onion Fingers

Do your fingers stink like onions after you handle them? I had to list the ingredients the way that I did because I couldn't list the knife. I have never used lemon, but it can't hurt! :) You won't believe how well this works! It usually takes away the smell of garlic too. You can use a dull butter knife but if you are not comfortable using a knife, you can use some other resources of stainless steel. Enjoy! -- posted by Nif

Gingerbread Train - Works Well With a Gingerbread House.

This is a great gift idea, fairly simple to make and loads of fun to decorate! You can paint on letters on each carriage to form a name or just do an extra long train to have at a birthday party. Great addition to gingerbread house(s) to make a whole gingerbread village!
**I use self-raising flour for this as it makes a more "bubble-like" 3D train but you can use plain.** THIS RECIPE MAKES GOOEY GINGERBREAD not hard!** This will make a very long train!! -- posted by JinxTheCat

Krumkake / Krumkaker

This is a VEGAN recipe for the Norwegian cookie that is baked on a cookie iron. This recipe is suitable for a pizzelle iron, as well. One cookie is a Krumkake, two or more are Krumkaker.
I devised this recipe using vegan ingredients after being unable to find a krumkake recipe suitable to a vegan diet.
The taste of flax seed is not noticeable in this recipe.

Taco Bell Chilito (Chili Cheese Burrito) Recipe!!!

For those of you who live in a place where Taco Bell does not sell their classic Chilito (and judging from Net, this includes alot of places), you can simply make them at home! This recipe is something I developed through trial and error. It is VERY close to the taste of the original. It also has that perfect "chilito" texture. Enjoy!!

Important Note: The hot sauce called for in the recipe is Taco Bell's Hot or Mild Sauce (DO NOT USE the Fire sauce)

Rat Mash (Grain Free Dog & Cat Food)

We have two chihuahuas and two cats, all under 8 lbs,(the rats, as we call them) that we make this dish for. This will feed all four animals for two meals. Dogs and cats shouldn't eat grains as they make them fat (just like what happens to people when they eat grains) and they're not easily digestable. Cats need a high protein/fat diet and it for sure won't hurt dogs to eat it either.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just like people, our animals get a varied diet. Try not to feed them the same meal day in and day out. Our pets have the softest, shinest coats, clean teeth, a healthy weight, don't have the bad breath and "wet dog" smell that grain fed animals have.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days. -- posted by ThatSouthernBelle

Escargot Vol-Au-Vent. Garlic Butter Snails in Mini Vol-Au-Vents

Garlicky buttered snails served in little light vol-au-vent cases, what a treat for all snail lovers! Living in France gives me access to some wonderful escargots, as well as superb garlic and butter too. These are just brilliant when served as appetisers for New Year or any other festive gathering. The beauty of these over the classic snails served in a baker or in their shells, is that you can eat the WHOLE thing! EVERY single bit of that naughty but exceedingly nice garlic and herb butter, all in one amazing mouthful! If you are unable to get hold of mini vol-au-vents, I have posted an alternative way to make your own little puff pastry cases, using readymade pastry for ease of preparation! Allow 2 to 3 per person if these are being served with other nibbles and appetisers. (Prep time includes baking the cases if not using readymade vol-au-vent cases.) -- posted by French Tart

I gave him a baked one while rolling the other ones and he just sat there looking expectantly at me, for more! He even liked it unbaked. Serving size depends on how you cut it. And prep time is obviously more if you're doing the pea size pieces. -- posted by WI Cheesehead

Natural Drain Unclogger

Based on a recipe from my Shaw’s grocery store’s Wild Harvest November 2009 holiday pamphlet. It says, “Along with potato peels and onion skins often comes a clogged sink. Thankfully, there is a way to unclog sinks without sending toxic chemicals down the drain and out into the environment.” Cook time is boiling water time. I can honestly say that I use this regularly in my kitchen sink and it works as well for me as Draino did. -- posted by mersaydees

Copycat Cracker Barrel 40th Anniversary Double Fudge Cola Cake

Cracker Barrel brought back their famous double fudge cola cake for their 40th anniversary and I was able to give their version a try. It was quite different from most of the usual copycat recipes out there, so perhaps their current version has been somewhat adapted over time. There are no nuts in this version. I did base my version on one I originally found on copycat.com, and I think I have it just about right.
Some properties in honey might contribute to its ability to fight infection and promote healing.
Vanilla Vodka Almond Jigglers

This recipe for vegetarian-friendly, alcoholic almond gelatin jigglers (think Jello Jigglers meets Jello shots) combines vanilla vodka, uses seaweed-derived gelatin called agar-agar (as opposed to nondescript gelatin, which is likely to be animal-derived), and reduces paper/plastic waste (no cups). The ratio of water to alcohol is 1:1, so these jigglers are quite alcoholic! For better taste/less alcohol, you might consider reducing the amount of alcohol to 1 1/2 cups and increasing either the amount of water or milk to 2 1/2 cups (I would increase the milk, for more body and color). Of course, it's all a matter of personal taste and preference. The agar-agar powder can be found at your local South East Asian market. -- posted by Thuha

Chicken Pepper Pot Soup

I got this fabulous recipe when I vacationed at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. The soup was on the Boma - Flavors of Africa Buffet. When I inquired about a cookbook with the recipe, the waitress went & got the recipe from the kitchen. This is posted in the same manner I got it, but I'll tell you that finding 1 gallon containers of broth is difficult. So I use 10 14oz cans, it's a little more, but just as good. I also usually use 2 poblanos. Using ready to go chicken tenders is a big time saver. I just sautee them in a little sesame oil & garlic before I dice them. This soup is very tasty and borderline addicitive. I've made several times since I got back. It is absolutley delicious the next day and freezes well. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. -- posted by Tina & Angie

Poison Ivy Infusion Relief - Jewelweed (Impatiens Capensis)

There is an interesting anecdote attached to this one. One summer, we found a mysterious and attractive wildflower out back of my bf's mom's house. Later the same summer, I contracted a horrific case of poison ivy.

Close to three weeks of scratching, squirming, Calamine-encrusted misery ensued. During a heatwave, no less. I tried everything available over the counter to no avail.

Reading up on wildflowers out of simple curiousity - I fortuitously discovered this plant I'd been curious about was called Jewelweed, or Spotted Touch- Me-Not. The field guide I was reading metioned that it's considred an excellent treatment for poison ivy. Right in our own backyard!

After doing some research on how to prepare the stuff for use, I found the following instructions at www.altnature.com. It worked within a couple of days after everything else had failed. That it could be frozen as ice cubes had added benefits on a really hot day. Best of luck with this and please let me know if it works for you, too. : ) -- posted by Cecily Parsley

Easy Hand Sanitizer

I wash and sanitize my hands frequently, because I work with animals. I needed something that could clean my hands but not dry them out. So I made this!
My fiancee uses this as an aftershave, and sometimes uses it as a mouthwash. I'm not sure about that last bit, but it's definitely nice as an aftershave.
Tea tree oil is a very strong antibacterial, antifungal, and has viricidal qualities, but it's not for those with very sensitive skin. I have fairly sensitive skin, and I can use it like this. Lavender and Lime oil are also good antibacterials. To make it manly, use cedar wood oil in place of the lavender.
Do not use it if your life is in danger. -- posted by IndinaMarie

Barbeque Deviled Eggs

This is the Neely's spin on a great Southern tradition. The sweet, tangy flavor of the barbecue sauce blends surprisingly will with rich, creamy egg yolks. Topped with thinly sliced scallions, these eggs are perfect for a picnic, a party, brunch or dinner, not to mention game nights! -- posted by Sharon123
