Greggie's Hotdish

Greggie's hotdish is a hotdish that was my uncle Greg's absolute favorite, so it was his! We always serve this with Green Stuff, corn, and Gedney pickles. Everyone in the family loves it! We always double the recipe, simply using a full 24 ounce container of cottage cheese and a 16 ounce container sour cream, and cooking it in two baking dishes. -- posted by Bec

Jim's New England Clam Chowder

After years of watching my New England relatives try to perfect their versions of this venerable seaside staple and several morphs and versions of my own, this has become my favorite. It yields a hearty delicious chowder that is not too thick. It is also forgiving enough that you can tweak it a bit to make it more healthy. For parties, I make this recipe as follows then place it in a crock pot on low. Guests eat it all day and there are never any leftovers! -- posted by Vic Damoth

I found this recipe out of the blue-we tried it and loved it!
Partridges - Catalan Style

Young partridges are considered to have particularly delicate flesh and are usually roasted, while older ones are most often used in casseroles or stews. Count on one bird per person. There are two main types, both edible: the grey or common partridge and the red-legged partridge. The latter is larger but its flesh is considered to be less delicate. If you do not hunt for these wild birds, they are readily available in speciality shops with a gourmet butcher, or most larger super-markets will have partridges packaged in two's, and frozen. These seem to be more readily available during the Christmas season. I acquired an excellent cookbook, while on a trip to England many years ago, entitled "Supercook's Poultry and Game Cookbook". The investment in this book has returned extraordinary dividends. Over time, I have used most of the recipes in this book, at least once. An absolutely delicious dinner, this recipe may be served with mashed potatoes, and buttered baby carrots; but make your own choices, you won't be sorry. -- posted by TOOLBELT DIVA

Legion's Westward Ho Salad!

Another great recipe from the the desk of my MIL they went to a brunch for the Canadian Legion at the Westward Ho RV Park just outside of Calgary and another lady was kind and gave her the recipe for this salad which is so refreshing, light, and creamy but the cranberry gives it another dimension which is very surprising just enough of a kick to make you surprised! We did refrigerate for 48 hours before serving. -- posted by oilpatchjo
