Randy's Yuckaduck Pitcher

My friend Randy came up with this drink, and I have no idea why he calls it that. I’ll have to ask him… :) It’s as delicious as it is fun to make and drink! This works really well for having along at a campout, where everybody will be sitting around eating, talking, and drinking in a circle. Use whatever fruit you like, but try to include something like watermelon that releases juice easily. -- posted by Uncle Dobo

White Russian Drink

If you like anything with a chocolate flavor, you'll love this drink.
I got the recipe from one of the bartenders at a large establishment in Dallas, Texas. They make them slightly different than the traditional White Russian.
If the drink is a little strong for you, increase the amount of Coke and/or half-and-half a bit.
I keep all of the ingredients chilled in the fridge, and use no ice, but that's just my personal preference; traditionally they are served over ice.
You can prepare multiple servings ahead of time, and store in a pitcher in the fridge for a day or two. -- posted by Karen Anne Newton RN

St. Vincent Rum Punch

I spent quite a bit of time living on the island of St. Vincent in the West Indies and picked up this Rum Punch recipe from the Grand View Hotel there. I cut the ingredients in half as the original recipe was for a huge quantity. Also, the amount of rum and water was unclear. I interpreted the rum to water ratio as 1 part rum to 2 parts water since the original recipe does not quantify an actual amount of either. If you use a normal size bottle of rum and double the amount for the water, you should be fine. It takes a few days to make, but is definitely worth the effort. -- posted by Green Cuisine

Oh and this will even make your breath really nice for kissing! Perfect for New Years Eve! After trying this I found that I would like the mint a little more pronounced.
I am a real booze wimp when it comes to the actual taste of alcohol but I do like a drink now and then. Tonight was one of those nights and I went out to the kitchen to see what we had and this is what I came up with. The name is inspired by an old Kids In The Hall comedy sketch. -- posted by Sarah_Jayne

Prohibition Classic Cocktail

You can add some soda to this if you need to, but this is no bathtub cocktail! During Prohibition you cannot waste your time drinking a lighter drink. Lillet is a blend of rigorously selected wines and fruit liqueurs, aged in oak vats for around 12 months. Lillet Blanc has a golden color with candied orange, honey, pine resin, lime and fresh mint aromas. This is the stuff in the James Bond cocktails like the Vesper. -- posted by Jess4Freedom

Adapted from "Peterson's Holiday Helper," by Valerie Peterson (Clarkson Potter, 2008). This is a blend of all the favorite holiday flavors, not really a true sangria. You can use a sparkling cider or grape juice, or even a champagne if you'd like to. Cherries are an excellent addition to this drink as well.
Non-Alcholic Fruity Brunch Cocktail

This isn't just for brunch. It would be a nice non-alcoholic cocktail any time of day but it got the name because I threw it together this morning to drink while I put together Christmas brunch.
Black Manhattan

Toast your good health and a prosperous New Year with this wonderful cocktail. This is based on a drink served at a bar in San Francisco called the "Bourbon & Branch". The original recipe calls for bourbon, but I like the rye whiskey with the dashes of two different bitters. You make the choice!! Averna Amaro is a wonderful Italian liquor made with herbs, roots, and citrus rinds, and a caramel flavor added for sweetness...perfect on its own or just about any cocktail you can throw it in. -- posted by Alan in SW Florida

Pomegranate Mimosa (Mocktail)

Perfect for Valentine's Day or any special occasion, this very simple yet elegant non-alcoholic cocktail comes courtesy of the folks at Pom Wonderful. The amount of the cider is approximate -- the original recipe simply calls for "1 glass sparkling cider", which I've estimated at 6 ounces so as to better fit into a standard champagne flute. Feel free to adjust to your tastes. Using a champagne flute will allow the beauty of the drink to come through, with the dark red of the pomegranate juice filling the stem portion as the cider sparkles above. -- posted by Lynne the Pirate Queen

Upside-Down Tequila Sunrise

This is such a great cocktail! It's great on taste, easy to make and so pretty! This recipe only makes one drink so it might be wise to go for the pitcher-load! It's sure to be a winner at your house, or pool, or anywhere!
BTW: Torani syrups are fantastic, non-alcohol and do so much to flavor your drinks, put in your coffee, in recipes, and include it in your desserts. They come in a ton of flavors, such as caramel, chocolate biscotti, white chocolate, and that's only a few. A lot of them are sugare free. Enjoy!
