			<title>Italian Hamburger Veggie Soup Like Olive Garden Soup</title>

			<description>This recipe was one I came up through trial and error after eating at olive garden last year on my birthday.  We don't eat out much and we love homemade soups. I also don't personally care much for canned soup.  I had been looking for a new soup to try and after I liked the soup at olive garden so much I decided to give this a try.  I personally used a 50/50 mix of ground beef and venison burger for this but use what ever you like.  I also like to make my own stocks but I found the Progresso Beef broth works very well for this when I am time crunched.  I have done this on the stove top but it works great in the crock pot too.  I grow and preserve my own veggies and freeze some soup ready mixed veggies but you can just as easily buy mixed veggies if you wish.  Canned works ok for stove top but turns to mush in the crock pot, use frozen for that.  Don't feel intimidated by the long list of ingredients, this throws together in about 15-20min and in the crock pot its almost no effort at all.  We serve it with a fresh salad and breadsticks so its just like the resteraunt soup, salad, and breadsticks special. 			<description>This is a Midwestern classic apparently-- a school chum from Iowa told me about this recipe that's popular around fall and early winter, from having leftover cans of pumpkin from stocking up on sale but not wanting to make any more pumpkin pies-- they're popular for high teas, luncheon spreads, Superbowl parties, Thanksgiving and Christmas, or sitting on your can watching The Golden Girls. :D Since I didn't want to use actual marshmallow Fluff...this is my fluffy adaptation of this recipe that came out HEAVENLY. I could eat a drum of this stuff and not get bored of it! One 15 or 16 oz can of pumpkin works, or you can measure out 2 cups from a 28-oz can. 			<description>This dipping sauce, fresh with herbs and tangy with lime, is Blue Ginger's, Ming Tsai's restaurant, most requested recipe. It's based on the traditional Thai dip called cha-gio, which gets its flavor from fish sauce. That salty ingredient is nicely balanced with lime juice. The herbs darken as the sauce ages; this isn't a taste problem (quite the opposite, as the flavor deepends over time) but the sauce will lose it looks. If this bothers you make and store the sauce &amp;quot;base&amp;quot; only, then chop &amp;amp; add the herbs an hour before serving it.Ceviche is food &amp;quot;cooked&amp;quot; without heat. After trying this recipe, I can certainly see why.  PURE comfort food here!  When fall comes, this is what you'll be craving.
   I usually take two days to put these together--stewing the chicken and sauteeing the vegetables on the first day; making the cream sauce and the crust the second day.  Do not be intimidated by the crust!  It's just a top crust and hangs over the side of the dish in a rustic, country fashion.  Very, very easy to roll out and work with.  Also, don't buy any special oven proof bowls for this recipe--I always make it in two 9&amp;quot; pie plates and it fills them nicely.  I add about 10 minutes to the bake time, but watch carefully so they don't burn.

			<description>My grandparents lived in Joplin, MO (just down the road from Springfield) and this has always been one of my favorite comfort foods.  This is very different from the cashew chicken found in Asian restaurants in the rest of the country.  It has been westernized almost to the point of not being Asian at all, but has become a regional favorite.  This recipe has been adapted from a  recipe found on Grouprecipes.com which is said to be the original recipe from Leong's Tea House in Springfield.  I'm not sure if that's true, but it's pretty close to what I grew up with.  

Prep time includes the resting time for the chicken.  The original recipe called for 9 tsp bouillon granules, but we thought it was a bit overpowering so we decreased it slightly. 			<description>I found this recipe several years ago at the service meat counter in our local supermarket and tweeked it a little. I also call it 'Really Good Chili That's a Whole Lotta Work' but my guys love it so what can I do? It can be 1/2 diced beef and 1/2 ground beef but we like it all diced. It's pretty mild so add more chili powder and chopped chilis if you like it hot. I also use trimmed stew beef instead of a roast, costs a bit more but its quicker to cut up. I casually sprinkled the thick-cut Hemplers bacon with cayenne before frying to a nearly blackened crisp. Once the caramel had reached its perfect molten temperature I stirred in a handful of the bacon then reserved the rest to get sprinkled on top. The caramel set beautifully. Some were cut and served as is while a select few were covered in tempered dark chocolate. All of them were devoured.
