Steak Marinade M L V

I was having a big BBQ party at my house and was stumped as to what kind of marinade to whip up for my guests. I brain stormed what would taste good with what and went from there. My guests raved about it. When I invited people for the next BBQ, all I heard was, "are you making those great steaks of yours?" I hope you enjoy this marinade as much as my friends have. -- posted by V_Master

Kittencal's Beef or Pork Marinade and Tenderizer

This is a teriyaki style marinade ---who ever said that marinades are only for flavor and not tenderizing has never tried this recipe! this marinade produces the most fabulous tasting beef and pork and tenderizes like nothing you have ever had before! I developed this recipe almost 20 years ago and still use it to this day, this works fabulous on a London Broil, it makes the best kabobs and pork tenderloins!--- the longer the meat marinades the more tender and juicy it will be, so plan ahead the meat needs to stay in the fridge for a minimum of 8 hours to 24 hours (even better if left for 24 hours!) the amounts listed are enough for 2 pounds beef or pork so you might want to double or even triple the ingredients, if I am doubling or tripling I usually cut back on the soy sauce and still only use 2-3 tablespoons fresh garlic, you can add in 1 teaspoon dry mustard powder also, the powdered meat tenderizer is only optional you do not have to use it this works great even without it! don't forget to allow the meat to come down to almost room temperature before cooking, this will relax the meat fibers and create a more tender meat --- DO NOT substitute the honey for anything else but pure maple syrup, if possible use honey it will work the best! -- posted by KITTENCAL

Tangy Beef or Pork Marinade

I created this recipe by fooling around with some ingredients. The result is a wonderful tangy marinade with a bit of a kick that I use on steaks, pork chops, roast pork and even deer meat. This is especially good for a tough cut of meat. I frequently use this for london broil and marinate overnight. If I use for a pork roast, I add more maple syrup to make it sweeter and then baste the pork roast with it when it is cooking in the oven. -- posted by Cathy17

Kitchen Witch's New Orleans Pepper

Try this dry rub on your next grilled steak. If you've ever read any of Chef Paul Prudhomme's cookbooks, you'll see that he is adamant about using red, white and black pepper in dishes because each type of pepper affects a different set of tastebuds in the mouth; so in theory, your whole mouth will "feel the burn" when using each type. Basically, we like it because Ed prefers extremely simple steak preparations that allow the flavor of the meat to come through, not seasonings that cover it up, and this is perfect in that respect. -- posted by EdsGirlAngie

Restaurant Steak Marinade

Got this on the hush from a restaurant that is famous for their marinated steaks. The steak can get dark on the outside but it tastes great. There is beau monde seasoning and gravy master in this blend! This is a strong marinade and it can last up to 2 months in the refrigerator.*the reviewer is right but I ususally go to the restaurant in Riverhead! Been going for 20 years! I feel so old saying that. My kids love this marinade too.
Rib Eye Steak in Bock Beer Marinade

AUS/NZ for ZWT 5 due to the influence the German culture has had on the region and the propensity for grilling! So succulent and tender you may not even need a knife. This steak is one of the top dishes served at Hudson's on the Bend, a popular Austin, TX, restaurant known for its game cooking and big-flavored, robust dishes. "These guys could cook a horseshoe and make it delicious," says CBS news anchor and frequent Hudson's diner Dan Rather in the foreword to their new book."

Chef Jeff Blank offers creativity and originality in the kitchen to make him one of the most celebrated chef's in the country. Jeff has owned Hudson's on the Bend Restaurant in Austin since 1984. Prior to that, he owned and operated Wineskin Restaurant in Aspen, Colo.

He was praised by the New York Times, Texas Monthly, and Chef's Magazine. In 1996 and 1997, Jeff won the People's Choice Award at the Texas Wine and Food Festival. Hudson's on the Bend was named to the "Top 50 Restaurants in America" list.

(Cook time does NOT include marinating time.)

Variations: This is also a wonderful marinade for baby-back ribs, portabello mushrooms, chicken . . . you get the idea.
Timing: Marinate the steaks in an airtight plastic bag the day before grilling to achieve the optimum flavor.

Love Connection Steak Marinade

A wonderful marinade. The first time my husband (then my boyfriend) made this for me he said - quote - 'When you taste this you'll be mine'...now we're married so I guess i'm just a sucker for a good meal! The recipe is originally designed for flank but since london broil is cheaper and just as good in this, either will do. Now for those of you who are leery about the combo of star anise and steak (like I was), TRY IT; the marinade combines into a completely different and addictive taste! -- posted by Irene H Forster

Latin Fusion Marinade

Although this recipe uses an ingredient found in the Asian food section of the supermarket, it has a markedly Latin American flavor. I didn't have a marinade one day, so I did a search of the cabinets and this is the result. It can easily be multiplied for big groups, even made ahead. If you can't find chile oil, it can be made by heating red pepper flakes in a neutral oil, then allowing the mix to cool and straining the oil. -- posted by Anacat

This is the real deal. I don't know where the other people get their recipes from but the REAL Zip Sauce doesn't have all those herbs. My father-in-law used to play poker with the owner of one of the famous steakhouses in Detroit that served this sauce and one night he divulged the recipe to him. Here it is!! -- posted by Elizabeth #5

Nua Yang - Thai Style BBQ Beef

Thai style bbq marinade, great for steak sauce or stir fry marinade. I love it because it's very fast and the flavour is strong. It's close to the flavour from my local Thai restaurant.

I can't take all the credit I was given the recipe from a friend but I have cut it down to just the basics. No idea where it originated from. -- posted by Chef #1439705
