Wild Mushroom Spaghetti

Olde Mill Inn Pecan Molasses Pork Loin With Cheddar Mashed Potat

In 1768, Samuel Lewis, a miller from Franklin Corners in Basking Ridge, built a water-powered grist mill and a barn on the Passaic River on land originally acquired from William Penn. Through the generations, the business evolved into a thriving inn that still reflects its historic charm. The Grain House so deeply rooted in America's past and so lovingly preserved by all its owners, offers a historic atmosphere of charm and fellowship unmatched anywhere else in New Jersey. -- posted by Molly53

Hirsch Insanity Sauce Pizza

or Pizza with Chicken, Cranberry, Jalapeno, and Apple.

Great for the Fall with hard or mulled cider! So titled because my brother created the cranberry jalapeno sauce, and I created this pizza. We're the black sheep of the family. You won't believe me, but this is a great flavor combination. It was popular with everyone, including my 3 yr. old and 1 1/2 yr old.

To make all of it at once might have been a little more time-consuming than I would normally tolerate. But the sauce keeps very well in a ziploc in the freezer, and you can break off bits to use when you need it.

(The prep time I gave assumes you have already made the sauce ahead.) -- posted by Mudflower

Chicken Paprikash

This is a family favorite! My husband's mother used to make this recipe for him as a child, and she passed it down to me and now I make it for my children. I admit to lightening up the recipe a bit, but I did not sacrifice any flavor. This is creamy, comforting, filling, homey and downright delicious. Once you are full you will be going back for more bites just because you want more taste. I hope you enjoy this as much as we have over the years. -- posted by LizP

Shrimp Cacciatore

If you are looking for a KILLER pasta dish, this is the one. This was my mother's signature dish when I was growing up. It is like something you would get in a Italian fine dining restaurant. Since I have adopted my husband's family traditions for Christmas Eve of doing seafood and no meat, it is our traditional Christmas Eve recipe. I hope you enjoy it. It is also delicious as Chicken Cacciatore or if you just use the vegetables. It seems like a long recipe, but it is actually very, very easy, especially if you make the sauce base ahead of time. The tomato sauce base is delicious on its own, so I make a huge batch and keep it frozen in the freezer to use over pasta in other preparations. -- posted by LizP

Breaded Cutlets Holstein

Veal (or pork, or chicken) cutlets topped with fried eggs, anchovies and capers. When the yolk is broken, it makes a rich and golden sauce. I like to season my breading with lemon pepper.
Chef's First Prime Rib Roast

I learned the foundation for this recipe at culinary school from one of
my favorite chefs. I tweaked it to suit my own taste, making my chef
proud of my ingenuity and taste.
I've made this countless times for both friends and family, and it's
been a hit every time.
The only tip I can offer is that you should use a bone in rib roast
(which is what is meant by "prime"). It will provide superior flavor, a
natural built-in rack, and the leftover bones make a decent brown stock
afterwards. If you would rather get rib eye, then use a roasting rack
during cooking.
Enjoy! -- posted by Chef Doggerton

Seared Kangaroo With Creamed Corn

I got this recipe at a local Farmers market, but have modified slightly. The recipe use sous vide method to cook the meat but as most of us don't have a vaccum packing machine in our kitchens I have gone for an easier option. You could substitute venison, as kangaroo is rather strong very dark meat, so I think the flavours would work well with venison too. If you can get the porcini and morel mushrooms fresh use about 100g of each.

Kfc Chicken

Colonel Sanders prepared the chicken recipe about half a century ago and it is really quite hard to duplicate this recipe as it uses secret combination of herbs.
To protect their top secret recipe, KFC has portions of the secret blend of herbs premixed at two confidential spice companies. After that, the blend is distributed to the KFC's offices located at different, where they are finally combined for use. There is one more point to note, KFC uses pressure cookers to fry their chicken pieces so unless you have a way of pressure frying at home, it will be quite difficult for you to duplicate KFC chicken recipe.

If you want to fry super crusty and crispy chicken like KFC, you need to dip your chicken pieces in egg, then flour, then egg then flour coating. After that, you need to fry it in a pressure cooker so that you will get the exact same crusty and crispy taste to your fried chicken which KFC is so eager to protect at all cost. Before you proceed further it is advisable to go through the article KFC Secret Recipe to know about the secret mix of the herbs used by KFC to derive that special taste.
Method
You have to put all the ingredients mentioned above in a blender and blend it for 3 to 4 minutes barring flour, eggs and milk.
Next, combine the eggs and milk and beat it to a smooth consistency after that add the previously blended herbs and work out a homogeneous mixture. and take the flour on a baking paper sheet.

Now, dip the chicken pieces in the mixture and roll them on the flour until they are perfectly coated. Fry the pieces in a pressure cooker if you have one or you can just fry them at 365 degrees F (185° C) ascertained by dropping a 2 inch square of bread, it should turn golden brown in about 60 seconds. in the hot oil fry the chicken pieces for 20 to 30 minutes, occasionally turning them so that they are cooked evenly after the chicken pieces are fried golden brown.

Drain the fried chicken for a while on the tissue paper so that it won't be so oily and greasy. Serve them hot. -- posted by Stefano Nata

Austrian Goulash

This recipe was taught to me by my Bavarian Mutti. I have, since, tried to measure and journal how to make this wonderful stew.

This stew is made with beef chuck, a combination of hot and mild paprika with a touch of caraway seeds. Served over spaetzle, buttered noodles or with tradition Semmel Knoedel (bread dumplings) this is a family favorite recipe.

Please visit my blog for a tutorial on how to make this. -- posted by FoodieWife

Sarasota's Sweet and Spicy Grilled Shrimp

This is so quick and easy, and makes a great family style dinner. For a dipping sauce, I don't think one is needed, but a few of my friends like it when I serve it with a garlic orange butter sauce. I simply melt some butter (1/2 cup), minced garlic (1 teaspoon), and some fresh orange juice (1 tablespoon). For my sides - a fresh creamy coleslaw and some chili fries. A few potatoes cut in wedges and mixed with some oil and seasoning makes for great healthy fries compared to fried or even store bought ones. -- posted by SarasotaCook

Crock Pot Pork Loin Roast

A great recipe for a rolled pork roast like the ones from Costco that tend to be a little dry & tough. The sauce can be thickened with a flour/water sauce for a flavorful gravy with pepper added. No salt is necessary as the condensed soup adds plenty! Sometimes I add 1/2 pkg dry onion soup mix sprinkling it right on the meat before cooking, Increase spices according to your taste. -- posted by Janie Cooper

Healthy Lemon Poached Salmon and a Cucumber Lemon Sauce

Salmon ... what can you say. It has amazing health benefits. The best part ... you can just lightly season, bake, broil, patties, sandwich spreads, salads and, spicy, sweet, tangy, citrus, Asian or pretty much anything you like. Well this is one way I really like to cook salmon. I showed this recipe to a girlfriend who has to watch her sugar as well as her overall diet and she makes this all the time for her family. This is very healthy and quick well to make a great dinner. I use a pea puree for the base and serve with some steamed new potatoes and my grilled vegetables, and I dare anyone to say they were hungry after finishing the dinner. -- posted by SarasotaCook

Spicy Chicken Sticks With 3 Dipping Sauces

Finger Fun Food. Who doesn't like it. I technically call this an appetizer, but honestly, I have serve this for dinner too. I have a group of friends (my pool buddies ... we play pool on Friday nights) they love these. Three (3) different dips, all unique served with my spicy chicken sticks (just chicken on a stick, but it is fun and never any left. You can always cut down on the sauces but honestly, there usually isn't any left. And what is left - I can easily use in the next few dinners. The herb vinaigrette is great over fresh fish, shrimp, scallops, or chicken. The sundried tomato is awesome on a baguette with grilled chicken for an amazing sandwich; and the artichoke, over pasta for an easy side dish or even or some grilled salmon or grilled chicken breasts. Many possibilities, trust me ... if any sauce is left, you will not have a hard time using it up. -- posted by SarasotaCook

The Realtor's Shrimp Scampi W/Spaghetti

This will blow you away. The first time you serve this, you'll be ok because they don't know how great it's going to be. The second time you serve this, you better put it on the table and get out of the way FAST cause they are going to knock you down trying to get to it. It's a recipe that I have developed through years of making it over and over and over. This is the best version I have been able to create. NOTE: This recipe is to be used with 1/2 pound of spaghetti. If you are using 1lb of spaghetti, double the recipe because there won't be enough sauce for a full pound. If you are doubling it, don't double the lemon juice or it'll be too tart, just bump it up to 3 Tbsp. and only bump the lemon pepper up to 3/4 tsp or it will be too salty for some people. The rib eyes should be room temperature so bring meat out of the refrigerator 1 hour before searing. Use tongs so not to puncture the meat.
This serves 12 normal adults. 1/4 pound per adult. BUT if like my Husband he'll eat the whole steak himself. I just don't know how he does it!

Mme Benoit's Tourtière

Tourtière is a French Canadian meat pie which is traditionally served at Christmas. It may be made from pork, beef or a combination of meats sometimes including veal. Different regions in Quebec have their own traditional recipes. Some regions use game such as hare or duck rather than beef and pork. The pies should not have too much filling as they are just a part of the whole traditional Christmas dinner. It's usually served with tomato ketchup. This recipe is the creation of Mme Jehane Benoit, a famous Quebec cooking expert who received the Order of Canada for her contributions to Canadian cuisine. I found this recipe on recipesource.com and on blogger.com where it was posted by Lizzy Ferland. For a richer stock, caramelize you onions and hocks until dark brown. You can use Recipe #356677 .

Easy Peasy Red Thai Salmon Curry

Knocked this up for a dinner party last night, as a mild dish. Tasty and quick!
This will vary tremendously depending on the curry paste you are using. Taste it first. If it's super-hot, you'll need to reduce the amount unless you want a hot curry. If this is the case, you may need to add in come more flavouring. I've tried successfully with a tin of red thai curry soup if you're going for the easy approach, otherwise add grated ginger, cumin, coriander and a splash of fish sauce and rice wine vinegar.
Of course, there's plenty of more complicated recipes out there, and this one's supposed to be easy, so try to go for a curry paste that's tasty but mild.
Greek Meatballs, Feta Yogurt Sauce and Lemon Couscous

Yummy, a whole different way to eat meatballs. No Italian sauce, but a creamy Feta sauce and lemon couscous to serve everything over versus pasta. It really is great and honestly doesn't take long. Couscous as you know takes 5 minutes. I make the dressing ahead and you are only left with the meatballs which you can actually make ahead, refrigerate or freeze and then make later. A salad on the side with a lemon vinaigrette and fresh tomatoes and dinner. Can't get much easier. Give it a try, you will love it if you enjoy greek flavors like me. -- posted by SarasotaCook

Kasia's Roasted Chicken With Veggies

This one dish roasted chicken dinner is made in 1 hour, with ingredients that you always have on hand. I use different spices everytime I make this, so feel free to mix it up and try different flavours. The best part is how moist the chicken comes out everytime.
All of the veggies are optional and you can substitute for anything you have on hand.
Enjoy.

Chicken and Veggetable Pasta

Simple and quick pasta that you can make with almost anything you have in the house (only a few of the ingredients are things you may not have). Doesn't use pasta sauce, olive oil and spices instead, and tons of veggies or just a few. (can be made for anyone who loves or hates veggies!)

Skillet Spiced Cranberry Chicken

I like to serve this easy one-pan dish throughout the holidays, when fresh cranberries are in season! Frozen or dried cranberries could also be used, for all year round appeal. Feel free to adjust sweetness to your tastes (we like it tangy). This chicken is great served with stuffing or rice, and your favorite seasonal vegetables. -- posted by BecR

A great Fall (or anytime!) recipe for an easy, convenient and mouth watering dinner. You will have a hard time not tearing into it while you smell it cooking! Warning: this feeds a crowd, it can easily be cut in half, or just make the whole thing and have awesome leftovers :) -- posted by emtpixie
