It is pantry food - a sauce that can be thrown together from ingredients you can keep in the cupboard for months at a time. This is the simplest recipe for it I have found, but is still delicious. When condensed down there may not seem to be much sauce, but you want to treat this like pesto - a small quantity swirled through lots of pasta, rather than drowning in sauce. 			<description>My son &amp;amp; daughter-in-law raved about this German soup but it just didn't sound like something I would like. One evening my little granddaughter asked my husband and I to stay for dinner and we accepted without knowing what was cooking. Needeless to say, we had our first taste of the infamous Greenbean Dumpling Soup ....and fell in love with it!
I prefer my dumplings more like spaetzle than the regular biscuit type-dumplings. Also, either French-cut or regular green beans can be used. 
I do not use the roue - I thicken in the soup liquid.

			<description>A versatile stew base that can be switched to suit any palate. The tomatillos give this stew base a plenty of citrus flavors, so feel free to leave out the additional lime juice.  The roasted poblanos provide a very subtle heat that is not at all overpowering.  If more heat is desired, add a couple of chopped chipotles in adobo or 2-3 chopped serrano or jalape&amp;ntilde;o chiles. 

Serving Ideas: When the stew has cooked about halfway (step 4), add meat of choice: shredded roast chicken or thinly sliced boneless pork chops would be equally good.  In the original version, I used 1 1/2 pounds of pre-cooked beef tongue; the richness of the meat paired quite well with the tart flavors in the stew. 			<description>The way to prepare a tasty (and expensive) ribeye roast -- from my mom's aunt.  Works for her and works for me on the rare treat that we buy a ribeye roast.  The roasts I use are usually 4-6 lbs, but here's an instance where size doesn't matter.

I love this recipe because I can prepare it with great ease and convenience, all the while making the best tasting roast ever.  For a dinner party, I may start the roast at 2 pm, then with all my extra time put effort into other dishes -- like twice-baked potatoes, salad, and dessert.  I have a double oven, so I can prepare my other sides without the forbidden opening of the oven door.

If you went to the great expense to buy a ribeye roast, make your roast this way.  No butter -- no flour -- no garlic -- no basting.  Just follow the simple instructions.  I think it's best at medium-rare -- that's pink in the middle but warm.  You may use a meat thermometer if you like, but I've never needed to when following the instructions.

If you have the &amp;quot;convection&amp;quot; setting on your oven, don't use it.  Just use the conventional setting.  If you must use the convection setting, you'll need to use a meat thermometer or adjust cooking times as convection will cook the meat faster. This recipe calls for slicing raw squash but to make it easier to cut, microwave for 3-5 minutes, or lightly steam or bake and then cut in pieces. I had made a request for ideas to use up some ingredients in my freezer and pantry, and she kindly described how she likes to prepare chicken using the ingredients I had on hand.  I took her idea and this is what I came up with.  Sarasota told me to go ahead and post the recipe, so here is how I prepared it. I used Muir Glen organic for the diced tomatoes.  Note: I removed the skin after cooking and served the meat sliced off the bone; the nutritional facts are assuming you ate all of the marinade, didn't spoon out the fat, and ate the skin.  My chicken breasts were huge and had enough meat to feed 3 servings. 			<description>I first was introduced to this recipe when I was reading the book, &amp;quot;Belong to Me&amp;quot;, when the main character &amp;quot;would have sold her soul&amp;quot; for a plate of this. I had to do further research and hours later, found a recipe that I was happy with sharing. There are American versions of this and Italian versions of this. The Italian version has you begin by reducing the anchovies into a paste, reducing their fishy taste. It also has you cook the sauce longer, mingling the flavours and reducing the tomatoes into their own paste. Although excellent the 1st day, it is even better the second so plan ahead to make more! And please, RESIST the urge to cover this with cheese!
