			<description>It's a gray day here in Boulder and I decided some soup would be in order.  Chicken Noodle Soup to be exact.  So what's a gluten free grain free girl to do for noodles?  Zucchini.  Yes, DIY zucchini noodles.

This recipe is super easy if you have chicken stock on hand.  I keep several jars in the freezer and try to have one in the fridge ready to go as well.  Just dice up some carrots, celery and other veggies of your choice and throw in those yummy zucchini noodles and you've got some good old fashioned, yet healthy modern chicken soup.

			<description>The way to prepare a tasty (and expensive) ribeye roast -- from my mom's aunt.  Works for her and works for me on the rare treat that we buy a ribeye roast.  The roasts I use are usually 4-6 lbs, but here's an instance where size doesn't matter.

I love this recipe because I can prepare it with great ease and convenience, all the while making the best tasting roast ever.  For a dinner party, I may start the roast at 2 pm, then with all my extra time put effort into other dishes -- like twice-baked potatoes, salad, and dessert.  I have a double oven, so I can prepare my other sides without the forbidden opening of the oven door.

If you went to the great expense to buy a ribeye roast, make your roast this way.  No butter -- no flour -- no garlic -- no basting.  Just follow the simple instructions.  I think it's best at medium-rare -- that's pink in the middle but warm.  The steam from boiling vinegar is very strong.  Avoid breathing it. 
Cooking your hot sauce will help blend the flavors together, break down pieces of solid ingredients and pasteurize the sauce. My hubby drinks a cup of coffee every morning, so as not to waste the rest of the pot, I began adding Splenda and Coffeemate powder to the hot leftover coffee. You can use the powdered creamer(I prefer Coffeemate)ay flavor, or the liquid kind. If you like the flavored ones, go ahead! Mine keeps about a week. 			<description>I found this on a site called &amp;quot;Tammy's Recipes&amp;quot; and have found it to be a great substitute for canned &amp;quot;cream of&amp;quot; soups. It is different from the others on this site as it is not a dried mix, but an actual condensed soup like Campbell's. I like that you can adjust the amount of salt and fat to your liking, and that it doesn't have any chemical additives in it. I make it with 1% milk and low sodium or homemade broth. It is also cheaper than the canned stuff - I usually make a double recipe and freeze it in 1 and 1/4 cup amounts (10 ounces in each ziplock bag = I &amp;quot;can&amp;quot; of soup). Greasing the measuring cup with pam before putting the soup in makes it easier to pour it out into the bag.
I have not tried yet, but I bet you could also make a good Cream of Mushroom with this recipe by using mushroom broth...

A mainstay of their breakfast offering is their creamy and delicious oatmeal which sits in large pots over a water bath and enjoys a cult-like following.  Cooked long and slow, their oatmeal is a steaming, hot cup of comfort warming your soul on cold and snowy mornings in the city. I came up with this version after a serious weekend craving for Amish Market oatmeal. The secret is the whole cinnamon stick that infuses the whole pot while it is cooking. My daughter, an oatmeal purist and aficionado as well, happily approved of this, and began requesting it during the week for breakfast. None of us likes instant oatmeal, so I tried freezing it and it reheated nicely. Now we can have slow cooked oatmeal on busy mornings when standing over a stove isn't feasible.

It can be made with water, soy milk, or skim milk, but adjust the volume of skim milk to your taste as the texture becomes somewhat runny. My family prefers it with low fat milk, but this can be made with water, skim milk, or soy milk, but adjust the volume of liquid to suit your preference for texture. Our favorite topping is dark brown sugar, cinnamon, but it is delicious with dried cranberries or cherries and walnuts as well. In the US, we have 20 oz cans of pineapple and that worked fine.  I didn't use the stock cube and would sub. shicken stock for the 1/4 C water instead next time.  I just realized I read the curry powder wrong and put in almost 1 tablespoon of sweet curry!  I would probably do that again, as it wasn't too much. Rich taste, full of beta carotene, filling but not fattening &amp;amp; inexpensive  - gotta love these vegies! Used a Golden Butternut to make this soup last night. It was the first use of our version of Sherry Peppers (habaneros, cinnamon sticks, allspice berries, black peppercorns in dry sherry) - turned out mighty well. I subbed hot pepper  &amp;amp; dry sherry into this recipe as Bermuda Sherry Pepper is hard to come by. The squash cooked down to a beautiful thick orange base that did not need pureeing - the carrot bits were soft too but added a bit of texture which was appealing. Keeps well for reheating in microwave  without separating too. Posting at request of DN who wants the recipe after tasting. Both of us are committed to eating healthy MOST of the time (that way, we don't feel as guilty while eating our pizza and wings and downing a couple of adult beverages on the weekends haha).  Anywho, I'm on this huge kick right now of using cheap but healthy &amp;quot;fillers&amp;quot; such as beans, brown rice, textured vegetable protein (TVP), and fresh veggies (sometimes all at once!).  My favorite home-cooked meals are not only healthy, but provide both of us with large enough portions to feel satisfied, plus &amp;quot;seconds&amp;quot; for the boyfriend, PLUS provide me with a work lunch the following day.  If I can freeze half for a future meal, even better.  Next time I make these, I'll probably throw in some chopped bell pepper and shredded carrots...that'll give me a couple more tacos, and more veggies! 			<description>I just made this recipe, and it is soooo good! Beautiful, jewel-toned strawberry jam with a touch of lemon--I found the recipe in the Ball powdered pectin box. My chef husband gave me a bar zester years ago, and I use it to get a fine, delicate lemon  peel with no pith. If you don't have a zester, prepare the peel to your preference, but be sure to remove as much of the pith as possible.

If you cannot find candied jalapenos, just use one small fresh jalapeno (seeded and minced) and a tablespoon of sugar....it is just as good.  We love curry, so we add more curry powder.  Taste it and customize it to your taste!
