Sweet Potato Cornbread With Dried Cranberries

This is similar to the other Sweet Potato Cornbread recipe that is posted. The cooking method differs and this makes two loaves.
The cooking time includes the time to bake the sweet potatoes as well as the time to bake the cornbread. Leftover baked sweet potatoes would be fine for this. I think toasted, chopped pecans would be a nice addition to this. -- posted by Barbara's cooking again

Apricot Bread, a Beautiful Loaf, Abm

Looks good, tastes great! Wonderful for special occasions. Looks sooo nice when sliced. Great for ham sandwiches. I found this online, don't know where. This was very slow rising in the abm but rose well after being shaped. I cut the dough in two, added dried fruit to half and twisted them together, used a large bread pan. It would be appealing if baked in a tube pan. Used both diced apricots and cranberries for a second loaf. Don't soak fruit, it gets too soft and wet to look pretty. Prep time includes time in ABM. -- posted by Jezski

Martha Stewart's Banana Bread

I have been searching a LONG time and making MANY loaves of banana bread trying to find a light and fluffy (not dense and heavy) bread, and I finally found it! I think the sour cream has a lot to do with it. I have made 3 loaves, 2 of which turned out perfect, 1 of which didn't - I tried to cut back on the sugar and that must have been the problem. From now on I will follow the recipe exactly. I have not made it with the addition of the nuts yet. Don't be alarmed - the outside gets dark, but the inside is very moist. I use a 10" loaf pan and it bakes for exactly 50 minutes. BEWARE: The loaf will quickly disappear! -- posted by Beaner #2

Easter Raisin Bread

Aunt Joan's Rye Bread

When I was a little girl, Aunt Joan made the BEST rye bread I ever tasted. She'd sometimes give us a whole loaf and I'd have to make my brother and sisters promise not to eat it all.... For Christmas I asked Aunt Joan to write down her recipe and share with me. I'm putting it here for everyone's enjoyment. Note - it isn't very explicit, so you'll have to have some experience to get it right....
Cranberry Orange Wheat Bread (Like Great Harvest), Breadmaker

I've been experimenting with my breadmaker and this is the most fabulous loaf of bread I've ever made in it, so I shall post it quickly before I forget what I put in it! It tastes very similar to Great Harvest's Cranberry Orange bread, which they only offer around the holidays. Now I can have it all year! Yay! This makes a one-pound loaf, perfect for my Zoji mini.
NOTE: If you absolutely can't find the pomegranate molasses (I found some at Whole Foods), you can substitute honey. -- posted by hotdishmama

Wheat Sandwich Bread from Amish Starter

I had an abundance of Amish friendship bread starter and wanted to try something different than the sickly-sweet quick bread recipes out there. I saw JanuaryBride's Sourdough French Bread - ABM (Amish Bread starter) at http://www.recipezaar.com/sourdough-french-bread-abm-amish-bread-starter-375789 and decided to adapt it a bit.

I have a Cuisinart SM-70 stand mixer, so my directions reflect this. Refer to your mixer's manual for the speed and duration to use for bread dough.

You can also use a bread machine on the French Bread setting. Follow your machine's instructions.

Keep in mind that the bulk of that prep time is idle time when your dough is rising and you can do other things. :)

NOTE: The starter ingredients at the beginning are here for nutritional info only. The system doesn't know the nutritional info for starter, so I gave approximate measurements of the starter's ingredients). -- posted by Gardenwife

Easy Banana Bread

I do not know where this recipe originated from, but this Banana Bread always gets rave reviews. I wanted to post so i can throw away my handwritten recipe (i do not trust my memory to try it without) and have it in a safe place. You can substitute with egg beaters and use the 1/2 butter 1/2 margarine spread that says its baking friendly if worried about calories. Try peanut butter chips (so good), chocolate chips, or pecans in place of the walnuts to change it up and make it your own. -- posted by Chef #1475020

I Cant Believe It's Gluten Free Bread

I have tested this recipe many times in many ways, and it is really faboulous bread. Make sure you don't overmix the dough, and only let it rise once when its in the pan. Xanathan gum is expensive but it lasts a very long time. I have subbed many different gf flours in this recipe, and they all turned out "fine" but this one is "fabulous". -- posted by Nurse Rain

Gluten Free Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Bread

I composed this recipe from 3 others mixing and matching the ingredients to make the perfect soft, moist bread. It tastes just regular chocolate peanut butter banana bread. My family, including my 4 kids, loved it so much it was eaten within 2 days. There are lots of ingredients, but it is well worth it to get such a soft, moist and delicious gluten free bread. -- posted by Chef Q in Oregon

No-Salt White Bread

Very simple white bread recipe for breadmaker (if you're clever you can adapt for oven!) Whole wheat flour could be substituted. This is originally a medieval Tuscan recipe, created by peasants who couldn't afford the high taxes on salt. Perfect for those of us on low-sodium diets! -- posted by JennyMidget

Brother Juniper's Cajun Pepper Bread

Delicious bread from Brother Juniper's Bread Book. Excellent when paired with savory foods or just by itself (with butter, of course). I often use half the amount of Tabasco for those with a little milder mouths, because the full amount is SPICY! As noted, I use the Trader Joe's frozen pepper medley, but you can also use fresh, cans/jars or even pimientos. They all taste fantastic in the finished product. -- posted by SillyRhino

Mrs. Schneider's Date Nut Bread

This recipe came from a choir member more years ago than I wish to remember. It is the only date nut bread my family will eat. I'm putting it here for safe keeping as I have worn out several recipe cards for this one. While the ingredients may be the same as other breads, the preparation method is totally different. It will make 2 - 3 standard sized loaves and sometimes it may take a bit longer than the stated bake time. Prep time includes cooling time before baking. Cooking time includes the boiling and cooling time during prep. -- posted by Aubergine910

Brown Bread--With Leftover Crumbs of Any Kind

This is a great recipe to use up leftover cake, bread, cookies, doughnuts, etc. When my kids were little I always seemed to have leftover stuff that got thrown away. When I found this recipe I would use it and make Brown Bread. You can put scraps in a baggie in the freezer and when you have enough, make this recipe.
