Lasagna Squisito (Exquisite Lasagna!)

This is the culmination of my lasagna experimentation... I didn't see another recipe here that was quite like mine, so I decided to share! I usually make my meat sauce with ground turkey, but it is good with ground beef, too, or "meatball mix," which consists of ground beef, pork and veal. You can also cut the amount of meat in the sauce by one half and supplement spinach, if you like. It's best to experiment with the seasoning levels as you cook, based upon your preferences... I add lots of garlic to mine, and if I am using beef or a beef mixture, I toss a splash of red wine in the sauce. I also make my layers very thin. Oh, and this freezes and reheats well, if you are the make-ahead type! -- posted by Foxgirl

Light but Luxurious Lasagne

Lasagne is a firm favourite with everyone. Unfortunately, with all that pasta, creamy sauce and fatty beef, it can be a huge meal. My version replaces some of the pasta and meat with vegetables, and compared to an additive-filled, processed version, this is much better for the waistline. All the Italian purists that I know will be up in arms, but for me this is a great dish that leaves me feeling full of energy. -- posted by lady_heather

Papa Roberto's Spinach Lasagna

This is a combination of several recipes I've experimented with from different sources. I think I've finally perfected it. I think the fennel seed is critical, giving the sauce a unique flavor. Slowly cooking the sauce is key in my book. Take your time, and you won't regret it. I like my lasagna rich and a little more dense than typical so I skip any sort of egg mixture and I go light on the ricotta. I think spinach is a must for lasagna, and makes you feel less bad about eating it. There is really no need for a side dish here. Everything you need in life is in the lasagna! -- posted by DiveAtlas.com

I did bake it longer, about 50 minutes. -- posted by Lainey6605

Mouthwatering Beef Lasagna

I happened to get this recipe from the internet months ago and have already made it many times since I'm a big lasagna fan! I adapted it a little bit this time. Surprisingly the result came out so great. My hubby loved it so much and said this is the way in which I should make my lasagnas in the future! We ate it with some freshly toasted garlic bread. WOW!--so yummy:-) And of course, you can prepare in advance. Just let it cool and store it in the fridge for a couple of days and then microwave it on the highest temperature for 2 minutes and you're ready to enjoy! The leftovers even tastes better! -- posted by sasha's kitchen

Very Simple Crock Pot Lasagna

This recipe is for those who don't have a cabinet of spices and want a short list of ingredients to remember at the grocery store. It goes over well with my family, who are used to a more traditional, labor-intensive lasagna. The recipe calls for setting the crock pot on High, which cooks the lasagna in about 2 hours, but if set on low would probably take 6-8 hours. -- posted by WadeF

Seafood Lasagna Alfredo

This looks like it should be horribly difficult, but it's really simple. If you are a beginner cook and REALLY want to impress people, this is the recipe for you. I use fresh garlic and garlic powder - feel free to cut back on either. We actually prefer this made with surimi (fake crab meat) rather than fresh crab, but either is fine. Make sure the crab is picked over for shells. Feel free to toss in some scallops too - just saute them for a few minutes in some butter first. Substitute 1 box of chopped broccoli, defrosted, for the spinach, if desired, or omit entirely. -- posted by MJaz

Vegetable Lasagna

Use a mandolin slicer to get all the veggies paper thin; that way they'll melt into one another, and this whole mixture will become homogenized goodness.

Don't let the bechamel intimidate you. This French Mother Sauce is an alchemy of very simple ingredients that become a tremendous sauce through the proper application of heat. Just don't blast either the flour mixture, or the milk, with heat higher than medium, and you should be good. TAKE YOUR TIME, and don't pump up the heat to speed it up. Your patience will be rewarded with a luscious velvety sauce. -- posted by Adam Hayek - Chef #1348906

Ski's Easy Cincinnati Lasagna

Delicious cheesy-buttery blend kicked up a notch with the familiar spice of Cincinnati chili reminds how great a combination pasta and chili are. Having left the Cincinnati area one of the craves I continue to run into is for the taste of Goldstar or Skyline chili.
My Standard Lasagna

This is my basic easy lasagna. I either use homemade sauce or a really good quality store bought brand. There are four types of cheese in this recipe. If you like things spicy, by all means add a bit of crushed red pepper to the sauce or use spicy sausage. If I am adding sausage, I prefer to use mild turkey sausage in this, but it tastes really good with just ground beef too. -- posted by HeatherFeather

Florentine Lasagna Roll

Found this in a supermarket checkout cookbook years ago and it's still a family favorite. One important step is getting the water removed from the spinach as much as possible; after I drain it and squeeze as much out by hand I wrap it in a 4 layer pad of paper towels and squeeze it some more. Save the paper towels and use them later to dry off the noodles so they don't slide all over, this makes it a lot easier to spread the filling. I have listed 2% cheese and 1/3 less fat cream cheese but it started out being made with the full deal, we don't notice any decrease in flavor (I've also made it without the egg a time or two when I ran out and it tastes the same and holds together OK). I also think the filling makes a good spinach dip if you leave out the egg. Cook time includes the 5 minute stand time. -- posted by greksgirl

Three Cheese Beef Lasagna

I used to have a great recipe for Lasagna sauce, but of course the book it's in is at my parent's winter home. I used about three different recipes to approximate it, so here's my current version. I made this for dinner the other night and it was fairly easy and very good. This recipe is written for use with fresh Lasagna sheets, the ones that aren't dried and you don't have to boil or anything. You can just as easily use the dried pasta, just boil according to the package directions and use in place of the sheets. -- posted by CoCaShe

Boxing Day Festive Roast Pumpkin and Cheese Lasagne - Lasagna

Roasted pumpkin and creamy cheese lasagne (lasagna); a Boxing Day special - although I have made this for Christmas Eve too! This is a wonderful addition to the festive vegetarian table, but is ALSO hugely popular with meat eaters. This is my adapted version of Nigella Lawson's pumpkin lasagne; I have changed a few of the methods and added (as well as omitted) a few ingredients! Boxing day is the day after Christmas day, also called St Stephen’s Day – the 26th December; it is a public holiday in the UK and most Commonwealth countries……….generally a turkey curry day, or a turkey-free day, one of the two! Serve this with a large bowl of salad and some crusty bread for mopping up the delicious sauce. -- posted by French Tart

Turkey Spinach Lasagna

This is an amalgamation of some different Cooking Light recipes using what I had on hand one evening, which turned out to be even better the next day. Best of all, you don't have to cook the lasagna noodles first! Feel free to adjust, such as replacing water with chicken broth, adding more ground turkey, using whole wheat noodles, etc. Also, I am a slow cook, so it may take less than 30 minutes for you to prep. (Warning: 9 WW pts per 1/8 of pan because I hate most fat-free versions of cheeses) -- posted by Squirrelette

This recipe was made for me by my Grandpa. Its my birthday meal every year and it couldn't be simpler to make. I don't like a lot of meat and I really HATE ricotta cheese so this is the perfect lasagna for me. We make it with jarred marinara sauce and to make it taste less like store bought try adding chopped green peppers and simmer it for about ten minutes prior to assembly.
Traditional Supreme Lasagna

This is a combination of many lasagna recipes. This version is our favorite and comes close to what I always think of as a true restaurant style lasagna. I like to cook my own noodles, but you can also use no bake lasagna noodles and just add a 1 1/2 cups of water to the bottled sauces.
Sarasota's Full Proof Traditional Lasagna

This is my favorite lasagna, and is always the one I go back to. It is "fairly" classic, but I enjoy the mix of turkey and sausage vs all beef or beef and sausage which can be a bit heavy to me. A nice mix of romano, parmesan and mozarella and some red peppers in the tomato sauce makes this just a bit unique. I have many different recipes, including ... a vegetarian lasagna, mushroom, spinach and kale, mexican, and seafood ... but this by far is my ultimate standby. I really call this my Classic Lasagna. This is what I do: Layers ... 1) meat sauce 2) noodles 3) meat sauce 4) ricotta mix 5) grated cheese 6) noodles 7) meat sauce 8) ricotta mix 9) grated cheese 10) noodles 11) meat sauce 12) grated cheese. FYI ... These feeds a crowd, but I love to make it and then keep 1 or 2 pieces out for the week and freeze the rest. This makes a great easy lunch or simple dinner -- posted by SarasotaCook

Beef & Pork Ragu Lasagne (Lasagna) from Fine Cooking

This is a PHENOMENAL recipe from Fine Cooking. I have made it for company and everyone raves over it. It's labor intensive but SO worth it. It either makes one huge pan or two smaller ones. I have found that making the ragu the night before makes the preparation a lot easier.

Two minor substitutions I have made: (1) I use the already prepared ground chuck and ground pork from the meat section of my grocery store. (2) I have always used either regular dried lasagna noodles or no-boil noodles. -- posted by CFRP

Lasagna With Turkey Sausage

This is the lasagna recipe my mom always made. It's a family favorite. There are instructions in this recipe if you want to make it ahead of time and keep in the fridge before baking. -- posted by andrea.e

Best Ever Red & White Sauce Lasagna

This is the absolute best tasting lasagna I have ever had. The red sauce offers sweetness and the white sauce gives it a warm creaminess. I came up with this recipe for my sister who doesn't eat pork, but have made it many times with traditional pork Italian sausage. Either way its yummy, hearty and sure to impress. -- posted by Shamrockjulie
