			<description>My poor wisp of a husband recently found out he was gluten intolerant. Combine that with his vegetarianism and active lifestyle and he's withering away to nothing. He also has virtually nothing to eat for breakfast, hence this deliciously fattening granola full of lovely things like seeds, nuts and dried fruit. It's also not overly sweet as a base, especially since the fruit adds to the overall sweetness.

I prefer the oven to the microwave as it gives the granola a toasty flavor. 
Experiment with different types of nuts, dried fruit, and honey. You can use old fashioned rolled or quick oats. The old fashioned have a better overall quality but don't clump well, while the quick oats can get pasty when too wet but help with the clumping. 			<description>This is a modified energy bar from Mollie Katzen's Protein Bar recipe, found at {http://www.fabulousfoods.com}. I try to steer clear from dairy as often as possible and it was tough finding a granola/energy bar recipe that didn't use milk or yogurt.  So I kinda took what I liked from this recipe and left what I didn't and added a few other things.  It's a really great tasting bar that is egg-free and dairy free (except for the chocolate chips, use carob chips instead or just omit them altogether if you want a truly vegan bar) and packed with nutrition.  They're pretty sweet so if you like a less sweet bar use less sugar, choose a less sweet nut butter, and/or substitute dried fruit and chocolate chips for nuts and carob chips.  Eat one fresh out of the oven then freeze the rest in freezer zip-bags.  Just make sure to defrost or warm them before eating. I originally began making them to leave as gifts for the deer and other animals around our home, and under the trees we decorate in the woods. However nobody can ever keep their mitts off them! 			<description>This is great simple recipe I found online.  It is great for clearing out your fridge.  I saute any misc veggies I have laying around such as mushrooms and spinach and add them to the mix.  These can also be put into casings and refrigerated.  The colder the rice the easier it will be coat in bread crumbs.  I can't say how long because they never lasted longer than a day or so. She was explaining this recipe on one of her shows and I decided I had to try it.  I don't know if I got the exact measurements right, but I think I'm quite close.  This is delicious and fast and easy.  I think it makes an excellent quick breakfast if you have no time to eat, or makes a great snack too.  ETA:  I caught a rerun of the episode on which this particular recipe was featured and realized my error in naming the recpe &amp;quot;Banana Mocha Smoothie&amp;quot;.  The correct name for this recipe is &amp;quot;Banana Latte&amp;quot;.  Sorry for any confusion and no wonder, because mocha usually means chocolate is added, but it wasn't a part of the original recipe.  The name &amp;quot;Banana Latte&amp;quot; makes more sense. The taste is similar to english muffins or mild injera (Ethiopian flatbread). The texture is amazingly light, almost frothy, but still chewy, holding its shape with no problem.

			<description>I love French Toast and so many of the recipes I've seen are for more then one person.  So I came up with this one.  If you don't like Nutmeg, use Cinnamon instead.  I'm sure it will be just as tasty.  I used agave instead of maple syrup because its low on the gylcemic index.  You could use an unsweetened seed or nut milk instead of soy if you wish. 			<description>This is my adaptation of  Recipe # 55172. Unsweetened soy milk is best. (I'm lactose intolerant.) Reduce the sugar if you use sweetened soy milk. For vegetable crepes, omit vanilla and reduce or omit sugar. (It does not need salt, but if you must, you can add a pinch of salt.)  For what it's worth, I am using an old Wagner cast iron frying pan, that's so worn I can't read the markings, but it measures 8 3/4&amp;quot; wide at the top (inside dimension), and cooking on a Frigidaire glass/ceramic cooktop. Without honey, it's quite bland. 			<title>Pineapple Oatmeal Pancakes (Gluten-Free)</title>

			<description>Oh my gosh these are AWESOME!  This can of pineapple on the counter was calling to me, and my husband can't eat wheat, so if I make pancakes they're gonna have oats in them.  Plus, the Tahitian Pancakes came up on Heroes in the past week or so, so that's on my mind.
I combined two different recipes that I found online, one for pineapple pancakes and one for oatmeal pancakes.  Neither one is like this new version though.  SO AWESOME!  
One last thing, I used coconut milk instead of cow milk, since my husband is also on this non-dairy kick.
