			<description>This is possibly the most nutritious sweet treat in the world. A delicious rich melt in the mouth halva. Great for babies and children. Sesame seeds are the highest source of calcium (975gms per 100gms -9 times that of whole milk-), high in iron (14.55grams -grain fed beef mince has only 1.99grams-) an almost equal amount of protein to beef and numerous other nutrients. This has become a staple in our house and the combinations are endless. I like to mix in chopped pistachios. You can use other things such as prunes, date paste, dried cherries, apricots, coconut, cocoa powder or other nuts and flavourings. you can add more dates if you prefer it sweeter. 			<description>My late dad was a fabulous cook.  My mouth waters when I think about his concoctions.  He owned a pancake parlour and this is his pancake recipe that he used and that I memorized as a young girl.  Fortunately it is dairy free so it works well for my dairy allergic son.  My dad insisted that this recipe worked better if the batter aired for at least an hour prior to cooking.  The batter can last in the fridge for up to 24 hours. For me, this book is like a second chance at finally listening to my grandparents and great grandparents. :) For other country drinks, you may substitute barley, oats, or soybeans, as these were used during the Civil War; the roasted shells of acorns were used during WWII by the Germans (caution: do not use acorns unless you boil them first to remove their tannic acid). Im guessing on the quantity and will adjust accordingly after Ive made this. If you try this, please let me know what quantity worked for you. This recipe requires a coffee grinder, or some other equipment or method for grinding the kernels. Please note: this milk has a consistency of thin porridge before straining.
After straining, depending on the amount of water added, it should have a consistency of rice milk.

This milk has a nutty flavor. It tastes a bit like unsweetened soy milk. You can of course, add sweeteners and flavorings to your quinoa milk (I recommend almond extract) so you can probably get it to a taste that is very similar to commercially purchased rice or almond milk.

			<description>I discovered fingerlings at a Farmer's Market a couple of years ago and found the best method that makes them fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The parboil method may not be necessary, but otherwise it won't be so fluffy on the inside. Duck or goose fat is ideal for this, but I have never tried it due to cholesterol. Make sure to rough the potatoes up well in the colander to get a maximum crispness on the outside.
I tend to eat them cold from the fridge the next day, but they can also be used as an appetizer with an Aioli dip or one of your choice.

(If you want to use whole wheat you can add only a half a cup to this recipe -more than that will make the bread dense) Also if you only have active dry yeast- double the yeast amount to 1/2 tsp.

Sarah Owen says &amp;quot;All three fruits in this juice provide a massive infection-fighting boost of vitamin C and can help to shorten the duration of a cold. The kiwi fruit a also contain lutein, a phytonutrient known to reduce the risk of cancer, heart disease and eye disease. Both strawberries and grapes are high in ellagic acid, which neutralizes carcinogens. The tannins, flavones and active compounds in the grapes combine to make them energizing and strengthen the cell walls of blood vessels&amp;quot;
You could make more than one serving, and serve with lemonade and ice in a punch bowl for a party if desired.
I haven't made this yet, as I don't have a juicer, but if I ever get one, this will be the first juice that I make.

			<description>The way to prepare a tasty (and expensive) ribeye roast -- from my mom's aunt.  Works for her and works for me on the rare treat that we buy a ribeye roast.  The roasts I use are usually 4-6 lbs, but here's an instance where size doesn't matter.

I love this recipe because I can prepare it with great ease and convenience, all the while making the best tasting roast ever.  For a dinner party, I may start the roast at 2 pm, then with all my extra time put effort into other dishes -- like twice-baked potatoes, salad, and dessert.  I have a double oven, so I can prepare my other sides without the forbidden opening of the oven door.

If you went to the great expense to buy a ribeye roast, make your roast this way.  No butter -- no flour -- no garlic -- no basting.  Just follow the simple instructions.  I think it's best at medium-rare -- that's pink in the middle but warm.  You may use a meat thermometer if you like, but I've never needed to when following the instructions.

If you have the &amp;quot;convection&amp;quot; setting on your oven, don't use it.  Just use the conventional setting.  If you must use the convection setting, you'll need to use a meat thermometer or adjust cooking times as convection will cook the meat faster.
