Three Cheese Macaroni

This was a happy accident based on the cheeses I had in fridge today. You can save yourself a pan to wash by boiling the macaroni in the same saucier you build the sauce in (I would recommend 3 qt. for the amounts I used, it worked perfectly!). This made 6 good side dish servings, probably 4 main dish servings. Topping this with slices of a good tomato would be excellent as well. -- posted by CraftScout

This is a recipe that I came up with. I knew I wanted to make chicken & pasta, but I didn't want a heavy cream sauce. So I just started pulling stuff out of the fridge- making & creating & came up with this. It turned out great. The sauce has a sweet taste to it. My 3 kids ate it up.
Homemade Spaghetti

This is a recipe that I learned from my mom. She was Vietnamese, but since her husband (my dad) was an American, she tried to make American dishes as well. Through the years, she would change & improvise. I could never get an exact recipe from her on this. On one of her last trips to NC to visit us, she made this & I made sure to watch very closely.
Buffalo Turkey With Linguini

A tasty looking recipe I am dying to try found in my June 2009 issue of TOH's Simple and Delicious. This recipe uses meat cooked in a sister recipe - Roasted Turkey Breast Tenderloins & Veggies ( also posted). I am sure you could make them ahead using the similar seasonings too. :)
***Prep/Total time is listed as 25 minutes for the meal. I haven't made it yet so I can't say until I do. I assume the chopping will take a few.... -- posted by Mommy Diva

Tortellini and Ham

A quick any night dinner fix when you are short on time and don't know what to make - from June 2009 TOH's Simple and Delicious. CAN be adjusted to suit your tastes and what's in the fridge/pantry! Recipe calls for frozen peppr strips, thawed. I have never used those so I modified it to use fresh peppers quickly sauteed. **Also think red pepper flakes would be good in this - asparagus. Haven't made dish yet, will update as I do. -- posted by Mommy Diva

I was in search for a pasta salad that had tuna in it....I came across a recipe that I thought would be perfect but made so many changes I had to post it as a new recipe.
Double-Dutch Mac & Cheese With Chard

This is a rich and delicious macaroni & cheese from Bon Appétit Magazine (May 2009). You can use any combination of good melting cheeses such as Gruyere, Emmentaler, Fontina, or cheddar. It works with kale, chard, or spinach. If you omit the greens, this also makes a great traditional mac & cheese. If you want a creamier macaroni & cheese, just add a little more milk until you get the desired consistency. -- posted by blucoat

My Favourite Sweet Toasted Vermicelli for Ramadan

I do have another recipe for Seviyan posted, but that is a creamier more dessert like dish. I prefer this one as it is not as sweet & is brilliant for Suhor (the meal before dawn). Seviyan is the name of the toasted vermicelli used to make sweets aswell as savoury dishes in countries such as Pakistan & India. It is eaten throughout the year but comes into it's own during Ramadan. You can buy Seviyan / toasted vermicelli at most Asian stores & you can find it in the international isle of the larger supermarkets. Otherwise you can toast your own fine vermicelli in the oven! The fruit & nuts I refer to is the tropical dried fruit & nut mix you buy which typically has coconut, papaya, pineapple, banana, raisins & peanuts. If you don't want to use this then you can use slivered almonds & roughly chopped pistachios instead. -- posted by Um Safia

Frozen Baby Meal 3 of 6 (Chicken Soup)

This is one of six frozen baby meals I used to make for my son. A friend gave me the combination and with minimal preparation you save yourself time and money. All six are really pretty good and I've made them for myself in a pinch. I would either try to use leftover meat from other dishes I'd prepared or intentionally make extra to use for these meals. My son used to have a three-compartment baby tray with lid and I'd put one or two frozen cubes in the first slot, a little baby vegetable in the second slot and a little baby fruit in the last slot and he was set for lunch. I'd have his tray ready the night before or in the morning and by lunch the frozen cube(s) had almost thawed and just needed a little warming in the microwave. The serving sizes are difficult to determine since it is dependent on the age of the child. -- posted by Queen Puff

My Kids Favourite Pasta Meal.

Despite the fact that my two young children go through picky phases, they have decided that they both LOVE this pasta. DS especially can't get enough of the stuff & I am very happy as it's a healthy, filling meal suitable for all the family. I use the wholewheat tiny pasta shells (sold as conchigliette) but you can use any small pasta really. We like to serve this with a green salad & crusty bread!
Fideo

A favorite lunch dish at our house. I started with Debbwl's Recipe #366582 and made some adjustments to suit our tastes. We think it tastes very similar to spaghettios. Stewed tomatoes with sugar is necessary for the slightly sweet taste - if you substitute diced tomatoes, add a bit of sugar. I usually buy fideo in the ethnic food section (it's a popular pasta in Mexico). I have also substituted the tiny ABC pastas, but they take just a bit longer to cook. -- posted by appleydapply

I guess you would call it a comfort food for me as I was always so happy when I asked, "What's for supper" and Ma answered, "Chop Suey". She never called it "American Chop Suey" except on her recipe card. It was always "Chop Suey". I can't believe that I haven't posted this as I still make it often. I guess I figured it wasn't fancy enough and everyone knew about it, but because I don't want to lose it, I am posting it now.
Basic Garlic and Oil Sauce for Perfect Pasta (Rachael Ray)

If you like pasta, you're going to LOVE this recipe from Everyday With Rachael Ray's magazine (Oct '09). She has a "secret ingredient" that adds an unexpected zest to the ordinary ingredients: anchovies. She notes in her recipe that " even if you think you don't like anchovies, you should try this recipe--it'll change your mind." Further, she points out that "once you heat anchovies, they stop tasting like fish and start tasting more like salted nuts." So: try it, you'll like it! If you must, don't say anything to the diners--and ask them if they like it, before you reveal the "secret ingredient." -- posted by Debber

Delicious Veggie & Herb Ravioli Soup

I received this wonderful recipe from my sister. I love that the only preparation needed is to chop up some garlic and herbs. I really like flavor of this soup's base as it is seasoned with garlic, herbs, tomatoes and chicken. This is a great meal to make when time is short. Lastly, I do not care for red peppers. In most recipes, I won't include them. Thankfully I tried this with the red peppers included, and I can't imagine this soup without them. -- posted by Leilani

Shrimp Cacciatore

If you are looking for a KILLER pasta dish, this is the one. This was my mother's signature dish when I was growing up. It is like something you would get in a Italian fine dining restaurant. Since I have adopted my husband's family traditions for Christmas Eve of doing seafood and no meat, it is our traditional Christmas Eve recipe. I hope you enjoy it. It is also delicious as Chicken Cacciatore or if you just use the vegetables. It seems like a long recipe, but it is actually very, very easy, especially if you make the sauce base ahead of time. The tomato sauce base is delicious on its own, so I make a huge batch and keep it frozen in the freezer to use over pasta in other preparations. -- posted by LizP

The Realtor's Shrimp Scampi W/Spaghetti

This will blow you away. The first time you serve this, you'll be ok because they don't know how great it's going to be. The second time you serve this, you better put it on the table and get out of the way FAST cause they are going to knock you down trying to get to it. It's a recipe that I have developed through years of making it over and over and over. This is the best version I have been able to create. NOTE: This recipe is to be used with 1/2 pound of spaghetti. If you are using 1lb of spaghetti, double the recipe because there won't be enough sauce for a full pound. If you are doubling it, don't double the lemon juice or it'll be too tart, just bump it up to 3 Tbsp. and only bump the lemon pepper up to 3/4 tsp or it will be too salty for some people.
Nif's 30 Minute Tuna Casserole

A follow-up to Recipe #349613, this recipe is healthier and has more fresh ingredients. You could realistically have this meal on the table in a half hour as you are doing a lot of the prep while waiting for the pasta. This counts as 7 WW points. Enjoy! -- posted by Nif

Jamie Oliver Mac N Cheese

Jamie: ''Mac 'n' cheese' is a classic American pasta dish - everyone loves it. Sometimes it's done so badly in the convenience area, it's almost become famous for being horrible, but when you do it properly, trust me, it's an absolute killer. Feel free to use any tubular pasta you want. I've made this dish my own by lightening it with sweet tomatoes and given it some crunch with delicious breadcrumbs. Just you wait till you try it!

This dish isn't going to win any prizes in the nutrition department, but you can, and should, balance it with a nice salad. If you only have it once in a while as a special treat it'll do you no harm."

Haven't tried it yet but it sounds so good so posted for safe keeping.. Preperation and cooking time are estimates -- posted by mamaDlicious
