Coconut Orange Shrimp

I love coconut shrimp. I came across this recipe in my newspaper one day and though to try it. It is outstanding. The hot sauce gives it the right amount of spice to go with the sweet of the coconut. Prep time includes marinating time. -- posted by Missy Wright

Spicy Coconut Tiger Shrimp

I was trying to create a creamy, spicy flavour in my mind and I came up with this recipe. However, if you don't like it hot, just eliminate the pepper flakes. You can also add a tablespoon of fresh chopped cilantro at the end of the cooking process for added flavour. -- posted by Ranikabani

Curried Shrimp and Vegetable Soup

My sister Cathy made this recipe while she was visiting over the holidays. It is a flavorful soup that warms the insides during the winter months. She originally found the recipe in Yankee Magazine for Curried Vegetable Soup and added in the shrimp. -- posted by Babs7

Indonesian Prawns

Its about time that I share this recipe here with you. I always include this when making a Rijsttafel (an Indonesian dinner consisting of many different dishes) This is originally intended for mussels but I prefer the prawns.
The sauce can be made in advance for up to 2 days, keep in the fridge until needed -- posted by Pets'R'us

Nassi Goreng

(Sometimes spelled Nasi.) My understanding is that this is simply Indonesian for fried rice, so of course there are actually many versions. This is a Dutch version I've had for ages. Chicken can be substituted for the pork. For the baby shrimp, you can use salad shrimp from the fish counter at the grocery store--just don't leave on heat very long, since it's already cooked. Cooking time assumes starting with already cooked rice; cooking time isn't really "passive" since you have to keep an eye on it and stir a lot. You can substitute cooked Asian noodles for the rice and you'll have Bahmi Goreng. -- posted by echo echo

Indonesian Mie Goreng (Fried Noodles)

Like most Indonesian dishes this is flavorful and spicy dish- You may make it as "hot" or mild as you like by adding more or less chili.. Attractive to serve. Lovely for a luncheon or part of your dinner meal. The original recipe is from "The complete Asian Cookbook" By Charmaine Solomon- There are some minor changes by me. The Fried onions, Green Onions & cucumber slices are for garnish and optional -- posted by Bergy

Coconut Shrimp With Sweet Soy and Chili Dipping Sauce

The best recipe I have found for coconut shrimp. The dipping sauce is a perfect Indonesian- inspired condiment. Ketchup manis is a sweet indonesian sauce. You can substitute 3 Tbs. soy sauce mixed with 1 Tbs. brown sugar if you can't find ketchup manis in your local asian food store. -- posted by Kathy!!

Boiled Shrimp and Pork Dumplings

A couple of weeks ago I went to a market and saw some dumplings in one of the stalls. I wanted to buy some but they were so expensive, so I decided I'd just make them myself. The preparation - filling and shaping the dumplings - does take time, but I think it is worth the result. -- posted by j.sugiarto
