			<description>This is a twist on a fabulous and fast recipe I found in Eating Well Magazine; it is vegetarian and low sodium.  I think this would be fabulous for a bridal/baby shower luncheon!  It is a great lunch salad with some bread and butter. 			<description>This recipe is more about assembly than actual cooking.  (I mostly wanted to post my pics, which are pretty!)  I had store-bought Romaine and Aerogarden -grown mixed greens, as well as strawberries and blueberries, needing to be eaten, so I made this salad (a variation of the usual strawberry-feta salads).  I also put Recipe#49956 on it, but any bottled raspberry vinegrette will work.  Also, it would be good with sliced chicken, avocado, onion, etc on top, or made with spinach. If you like it chunky you might consider diced tomatoes and less water. Not bad for something you can make with a $1 can of tomatoes and some ingredients in the spice rack. &amp;quot;Da kine&amp;quot; is a key phrase in Hawaiian Pidgin, the language of the &amp;quot;locals.&amp;quot; It can mean almost anything, but commonly refers to something good or genuine, or as in this case, &amp;quot;the best.&amp;quot;

 This burger is as local as it gets, both in taste and ingredients. The patties are tender and juicy, thanks to fresh papaya and sweet onion, and are spiced with Hawaiian Portuguese sausage, which is so popular in Hawaii that it is on every breakfast menu (including McDonald&amp;amp;#8217;s). The accompanying salad employs heating oil to its smoking point, a local cooking method, resulting in a dynamite burger accompaniment. To complete the Hawaiian flavoring, I added a sweet glaze (Hawaiians love sweet and savory) and was inspired by our award-winning goat dairy to create a mouth-watering ginger-infused cheese spread. 			<description>Whenever I am grilling I usually make half of my burgers this way and half plain.  Anyone who overdoses on pepper in soup and likes spice enjoys these burgers.  I was inspired by a burger I got in Toronto, ON a couple years back which had cracked peppercorns and was served open faced and drizzled with brown gravy.  Wasn't crazy about gravy on a burger but used the concept in creating my firecracker burgers.  Named this way because when you eat them it is a flavor explosion. BTW: Torani syrups are fantastic, non-alcohol and do so much to flavor your drinks, put in your coffee, in recipes, and include it in your desserts. They come in a ton of flavors, such as  caramel, chocolate biscotti, white chocolate, and that's only a few.  A lot of them are sugare free. Enjoy!

			<description>This recipe is adopted from a recipe for Flag Cake by the Barefoot Contessa.  I made it for 4th of July 2009 and it was probably the best cake I've ever made.  I don't usually like cream cheese frosting, but this one is divine, especially with the fresh berries on top.

A few months later I found cupcakes topped with raspberries and blueberries at Star Provisions' bakery in Atlanta, and I could swear they used this same recipe, though Annie Quatrano might beg to differ.  That's what gave me the idea to make cupcakes with the Flag Cake recipe.  The cake batter includes sour cream, which makes the cake SO moist and delicious.  I've tried substituting 1/2 cup of Splenda for half a cup of the sugar in the batter and they came our great, so you could experiment with substituting Splenda for even more of the sugar.

			<description>I am a single woman living on my own. When I come home from work the last thing I want to do is slave over a hot stove or spend hours making dinner. I need quick and easy options. I try to utilize as many &amp;quot;convenience&amp;quot; items as I can in order to help spend less time in the kitchen and more time relaxing. I like to keep the condiments from takeout and fast food places if I think I can use them for something else. I like to experiement with recipes and make them simple. This has to be one of the easiest recipes I make. The only thing that might be a problem for some people who want to make it, is you need to be near a Chick-fil-a. I use their spicy dressing. I don't normally like typical coleslaw dressing, so this is my little spin on it. I also like to double and even triple the recipe up for family bbq's and potlucks at work. Feel free to add your own items that you like....diced red onion, julienned bell peppers, etc. That's what is so great about recipes, you can make them your own.
