Brined Turkey Breast With Peach Rosemary Glaze

This makes such delicious and moist turkey! I have changed the glaze before using dark cherries and cranberries instead of the peaches and that is scrumptious as well. I had to roast it longer to get to 165 degrees, about 40 minutes more, so you may want to plan on extra time. Prep time does not include brining time.
Microwave Pecan Toffee

Very easy, every day ingredients and quick. I believe the recipe said you could use pecans or almonds, but there are plenty of almond toffe recipes and besides, I like pecan toffee! I got this recipe from a cookbook, but can't remember the one. I have made this many times for work parties, christmas presents, bake sales and family.
Sweet and Savory Squash Stew

This recipe combines some of the most iconic tastes of fall--butternut and acorn squash, sweet potato, apple--in a sweet and savory pot of deliciousness. I recommend serving with a dollop of sour cream. And cornbread.

All amounts for seasonings are estimates--I tend to season as I go and according to taste; I have a feeling these are underestimates. I will be sure to update the next time I make this with adjusted amounts. I used a smoked (pre-cooked) ham steak for this; I have also made it with other kinds of ham, with turkey sausage, and without meat altogether with positive results. -- posted by Tlharin

Holiday Nut Roll (Americanized Croatian Nut Roll)

While similar to other nut roll recipes, this filling is unique because it uses no egg whites or lemon and includes a delicious "Americanization" of the Slavic recipe by adding--whiskey! It adds a fantastic additional flavor; feel free to split the filling before adding whiskey if you'd like to reserve some spirit-free for the kids (though it cooks off and I've never met a kid who didn't like this).

Makes a big batch--perfect for giving away. Freezes very well. My sister and I will make double this batch all at once and freeze them until we're ready to give/send them out. -- posted by Tlharin

Cranberry Orange Holiday Relish

There are many versions of this basic recipe. This little riff adds a little extra color and crunch to an already delightful side dish that is rich in both flavor and fiber. Add different fruits, and it becomes yet another kind of salad, beautiful in its ruby-redness, especially on a bed of greens. Note: the toasted pecans are nice added the day before serving, but as time goes on, they become less crunchy - but still add a great flavor. This relish can be held in the refrig for a week or so, and can be frozen as well. -- posted by MaryRich

Best Apple Cider Brined Turkey

This will be the BEST roasted turkey you’ve had, hands down! I prefer this over deep fried turkey as it is about as moist and has much more flavor to it. I compliment this turkey by serving giblet gravy, sautéed herbed mushrooms and Apple Wine Stuffing.

Before cooking the bird, I typically use a rub with olive oil or melted butter/margarine. I quarter an apple and stuff inside the cavity for cooking, tenting the bird until the last hour. -- posted by CooksInHeels

Corn Bread and Broccoli Rabe Strata (Melissa Clark)

A decadent recipe from Melissa Clark of the New York Times that combines the cheesy gooiness of a casserole with the custardy richness of a soufflé. Makes a satisfying vegetarian main dish (for 10) or a delicious side (for 16) for Thanksgiving or another special occasion. Recipe can be halved or even quartered.
