Summer Sweet Grape Salad

This is a great salad or dessert, especially for a summer BBQ. I chill a large glass bowl and line with curly red and green lettuce then add the beautiful grapes. Sprinkle with a little brown sugar and pecan pieces. I am always asked for the recipe or asked to bring it to the next party. Give it a try - Great when grapes are on sale and easy to make. -- posted by tamibic

Best Grape Salad

I got this recipe from a coworker at the salon I work at. I didn't think it would be so wonderful and addictive!! Its very creamy and sweet, and a great mix of flavors. It will be the best thing you ever use grapes for!! (except maybe wine!) -- posted by Jamie Renee

Andi's Pasta Salad W/Blue Cheese,broccoli and Grapes

This recipe is my recollection of a recipe my best friend's sister used to make. She had explained it to me once and I quickly scribbled down the ingredients and brief description of how she said she made it. I have made this several times and it is one of those "to taste" recipes. I sometimes garnish this with crumbled cooked bacon or a little Parmesan cheese. Please don't substitute reduced fat or fat free dressing - I tried doing this once and was very unhappy with the results. I prefer Marie's brand for the dressing (usually sold near produce in a small jar..I use pretty much the whole jar usually), but you could also use homemade. Prep time allows for cooking the pasta. Plan ahead - this needs to chill. -- posted by HeatherFeather

This is my favorite way to dress up salad greens. You can add almost anything to the salad, but oranges and grapes are my favorites. The dressing is not overly sweet or tart-a nice balance. Even my 2 and 4 year olds will eat salad when prepared this way! -- posted by Kaarin

Fresh Fruit Salad With Rum Raisin Sauce

This recipe is served at Wunsche Bros. Cafe in Old Town Spring and was printed in Texas Ties, a Junior League cookbook of North Harris County. If you go to Wunsche Bros., they serve beer bread alongside. Yum! I sometimes substitute rum extract for the liquor. Cooking time is chilling time of the Rum Raisin Sauce. -- posted by LonghornMama

Curried Chicken Salad

Delicious main dish salad, perfect for a summer lunch or light supper. I typically use Madras (hot) curry powder, but used a mild blend in this dish as I felt it would benefit from a lighter flavor. Use your own preference and adjust the amount to suit your taste. I garnished with fresh cilantro to add some color, but also ended up really enjoying the flavor it added. The original recipe does not give any chill time, but I think it tastes more balanced after some time in the fridge. -Adapted from Gourmet -- posted by GaylaJ

Black and White Grape Salad

I love black grapes. There weren't available until Super Wal-mart moved in. Rural areas just don't get "fancy" ingredients like a black grape. We're kinda stuck with seeded grapes with very little variety. Anyway, in a search for recipes to use these beautiful little gems, I found this one, but there is one similar using green grapes here at Zaar. I find this one especially good. I make it a habit of tasting a grape from the bunch before I buy to make sure they're sweet. -- posted by Redneck Epicurean

Gourmet Chicken Salad

This isn't your typical chicken salad. The sweetness of the seedless grapes, the lightness of the whipping cream, the crunch of the nuts and the dried fruit make a perfect complement to this chicken salad. It's just like chicken salad you would expect to find at a fancy restaurant, but it's super easy to make. I like to eat this with crackers as much as I like eating it as a sandwich. -- posted by Crafty Lady 13

Waldorf Salad - No Mayonnaise

Another VT recipe that sounds too good to lose. This is a lightened up version of Waldorf Salad that uses yogurt iinstead of mayonnaise and also, for a surprise treat, includes pears. If you don't have ripe pears, use canned. You may peel the apples and pears if desired.
The cooking time includes time to cool down the cooked cider. -- posted by Dreamer in Ontario

Waldorf Salad

Inspired by Ruby Tuesday's Waldorf. The recipe is identical except for the grapes, the oranges, and possibly the exact type of apple. I also imagine they use regular mayonnaise, sour cream, and sugar. I don't use measurements for this one, so I guesstimated it. I like lots of dressing on mine. See http://www.recipezaar.com/306406 for recipe of the candied pecans. -- posted by Rowenna

Celery Black Grape and Blue Cheese Potato Salad

This combination is genius and works incredibly well if I do say so myself! Every element of the dish complements the next. One of those things I make sometimes and live off it for days! Crunchy big chunks of refreshing celery set in blue cheese dressing with the sweetness of black grapes to offset both. The potatoes are a great foil to this and prevent it from being too rich. A great dish to serve at buffets or pot luck dinners Its a cheeseboard lovers dream and looks colourful and presentable too -- posted by robd16

Sparkling White-Sangria Salad

This recipe is from Cooking Light. Delicious and fancy enough for the holidays. This recipe uses Riesling, but for a nonalcoholic version, substitute sparkling white grape juice. Make up to a day ahead and refrigerate. Dip the covered mold into a bowl of warm water for 5 seconds to make the salad easier to unmold.
