Banana Coconut Ice Cream (No Eggs)

We received an ice cream maker attachment for our KitchenAid mixer last Christmas. We also had a spare can of coconut milk left over from a curry recipe. After a few ice cream batches, I began wondering how to use the coconut milk in an ice cream recipe. This is the result. My favorite thing about homemade ice cream is the delicious taste from only a handful of ingredients, so this one is a simple, Philadelphia-style ice cream (no eggs).

It has a rich coconut flavor that isn't over-powering. The banana and (optional) rum complement the tropical theme. -- posted by calamari

Milk and Soy Protein Free (Mspi) Ice Cream

This recipe is a great substitute for regular ice cream and couldn't be easier to make. You can substitute any flavoring that suites your fancy. I've made chocolate from cocoa powder, strawberry, strawberry-banana, peach, and maple-walnut. The coconut flavor enhances the other flavors and isn't very noticable. There is more than enough sugar in the cream of coconut but a little honey might add a nice touch. -- posted by Chefro

Instant Blender Strawberry Ice Cream

The hardest thing about this is waiting for it to freeze, this also works using other fruit such a blueberries, peaches etc but the fruit must be frozen when added to the blender, thaw just slightly and enough to chop the whole berries, cooking time is freezer time, use sweetened berries for this --- this may also be done in a food process with good results -- posted by KITTENCAL

Fresh Raspberry Sherbet

Unlike ice cream, store-bought sherbet is usually third-rate. If you want a really good fruit sherbet, do you have to make it yourself? YES!
If using a canister-style ice cream machine, freeze the canister for at least 12 hours, or preferably, overnight. If the canister is not thoroughly frozen, the sherbet will not freeze beyond a slushy consistency. In-season fresh raspberries have the best flavor, but when they are not in season, frozen raspberries are a better option. Substitute a 12-ounce bag of frozen raspberries for fresh. Vodka can be substituted for the Triple Sec, but I prefer the citrus flavor of the Triple Sec. Prep time includes juice chilling time.
Fresh Orange Sherbet

Unlike ice cream, store-bought sherbet is usually third-rate. If you want a really good fruit sherbet, do you have to make it yourself? YES!
If using a canister-style ice cream machine, freeze the canister for at least 12 hours or, preferably, overnight. If the canister is not thoroughly frozen, the sherbet will not freeze beyond a slushy consistency. For the freshest, purest orange flavor, use freshly squeezed unpasteurized orange juice (either store-bought or juiced at home). Pasteurized fresh-squeezed juice makes an acceptable though noticeably less fresh-tasting sherbet. Do not use juice made from concentrate, which has a cooked and decidedly unfresh flavor. Vodka can be substituted for the Triple Sec, but I prefer the citrus flavor of the Triple Sec. Prep time includes juice chilling time.
Aunt Sue's Holiday Chocolate Pecan Neapolitan Cookies

These are very yummy and pretty for the holidays. They are fun to make, but the dough needs some time in the freezer. Also, I found that the chocolate takes quite a while to "set." I ended up placing the cookies on the wire cooling racks and setting them outside on the front steps for about 10 minutes. That did the trick. The refrigerator probably would too, but I didn't have enough room! -- posted by 2hot2handle

Iced Oranges With Granita

A pretty little dessert! Great to serve on a hot day or after a summer barbeque.

I used navel oranges for mine - please note that if you use another type/size of orange, you may have to change the quantity of syrup/juice accordingly.
Carrot Cake Ice Cream

This combines some of my favorite tastes - carrot cake with tangy cream cheese frosting & ice cream. This recipe is one that requires advance preparation of the nummy things to go into the Philadelphia-style ice cream base (named for the uncooked base not because of the cream cheese). With good mise en place this should come together nicely & be a star dessert. Found in the LA Times Food & Drink Weekly Guide.
***Assemble this to freeze several hours before serving. Take from freezer 15 minutes before scooping (gauge based on how warm your room is of course)****prep & cook time do not include chill & freeze time. I plan to chill base overnight to make life better. -- posted by Buster's friend

Tangy Frozen Lemon Yogurt

Found the secret to that special tangy twang that is hard to get at home - citric acid! Just a bit. The stuff in Fruit-Fresh. I know this recipe will be appreciated when it is just too danged hot to eat a rich ice cream but really, really want something frozen & decadent but refreshing. And I LOVE Greek yogurt & just about anything lemon. I plan to try this one with Splenda instead of the sugar as no cooking is involved.
Roquefort Ice Cream With Pears

(Helado de Roquefort con Peras) Combining the cheese and dessert courses into one delicious package, cheese ice creams are featured on many modern Spanish menus. Blue cheese ice cream in particular is a tasty and terrific idea. While pears make perfect senes, the ice cream can also be paired with other fruit, especially figs, either fresh, roasted, or in a quick compote. Instead of Roquefort, you can substitute Gorgonzola. And try making the ice cream with a mild or aged goat cheese, too.
Sinfully Rich Fresh Strawberry Ice Cream

When my girls were little, we used to have "Ice Cream Parties" where the two little boys down the street would come over for fresh ice cream. This recipe is full fat...full calories...and tastes ever so good! You need a ice cream machine for this recipe. I used to keep my ice cream canister always in the freezer and have the right amount of strawberries chopped and placed in freezer bags for the winter months... when we wanted to pretend that it was summertime! I would take this strawberry cream mixture to dinner parties and curn up fresh ice cream for dessert...then have everyone moaning in bliss!!! This makes up alot of ice cream, so the whole recipe might not fit in some of the smaller canisters -- posted by Abby Girl

Easy, breazy frozen desserts are handy to have on hand for that casual entertaining -- or -- for that last minute "guests are coming and I need something now" entertaining. Perfect in the summertime when you want something cool and refreshing. This pie makes up simple by using the food processor and needs freezing time, so plan on enough time to play. This could be made decadent by serving this with raspberry coulis and/or chocolate sauce!!! -- posted by Abby Girl

Simple Vanilla Ice Milk

I've found that I often prefer a lighter ice cream without all the heavy cream and eggs. Here is a recipe I found for a simple ice milk that can be tweaked with variations (add your favorite fruit, nut, etc.) This originally had more sugar, but I found it too sweet, and now the sugar matches this similar recipe for "Tahitian Vanilla Ice Milk" on this site.
From Taste of Home site, this was a huge hit when I served it to friends. So next time, I'll probably replace one of the sorbet layers with chocolate ice cream or sorbet. Either way, it's easy and delicous as it stands. As written, it's 5 WW pts per serving.

Creamy Lemongrass Ice Cream

I came up with this recipe because I am constantly unsatisfied with the ice cream recipes out there. They are either to rich, to egg-tasting, or too grainy. This recipe has none of those undesired qualities. This smooth and creamy ice cream combines the exotic flavor of lemongrass with the familiar texture and sweetness of ice cream. The ice cream is neither to eggy, nor too buttery in part because of the use of non-fat condensed milk and regular cream. -- posted by Timothy Sakhuja

"just Plain" Vanilla Ice Cream

Although this is just plain vanilla ice cream, it will put any ice cream lover over the edge. It is an American style, meaning no eggs, which also means no cooking and a shorter prep time. But don't let the simplicity fool you. The secret to the exceptional vanilla flavor is the Pure Vanilla Bean Powder. Extract does not even come close, that is why I don't bother with mentioning it as a substitution. This is pure vanilla bean that has bean ground into a powder. It can be hard to find so here is the link for the Madecasse, the brand I use:

Homemade Soy Vanilla Ice Cream

Need a healthier alternative to regular ice cream that is easy to make? My family (including the meat and dairy lovers) loved this ice cream, and no one would have known that it didn't have milk or eggs!

You can top it however you want, and experiment with the ingredients (we've made blackberry ice cream, strawberry ice cream, healthy chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream, healthy or "fake" butterfinger ice cream), etc.! You can make blizzards (aka Frosty or shake) by briefly blending it a bit in a blender. This recipe is perfect for experimenting! -- posted by Glorify.Jehovah

Fro. Cheesecake... Whatwhat?

Okay so this is just an ordinary cheesecake with a little twist. I remember this recipe because my manager and I was trying to figure out how to make a cheesecake unique and great. Some people uses sour cream and some people don't. Some uses evap. milk and some people dont. We werent exactly sure what would taste better and what would make the cake smooth or etc. So we came up with this! HOPE YOU ENJOY IT!

You will need a Springform pan or if you dont have won, just use a 9inch round pan with foil paper. Make sure to wrap the whole pan with foil!

As for toppings, you may use anything you like.
Whipped cream
Strawberries or blueberries or cherry or any fruits
Strawberry or chocolate syrups. Any syrups to your liking.
Almonds, walnuts, pecans... Any type nuts to your liking. -- posted by BOOMBAMBONBON!

Boston Cream Pie

An ancient Good Housekeeping recipe that I religiously make every New Years day. If you've never made a scratch cake, you don't know what you're missing. Using cake flour is a must. See Lennie's recipe #87689. Be sure to properly measure your flour by lightly spooning into a measure cup until overflowing then using the backside of a knife to level off. Too little flour will produce a callapsed cake and too much will have wet spots with dense layers. Cake layers freezeable.
