Sugar Free Punch

A Sugar Free Punch that a Type 1 diabetic could drink all day long without having to take extra insulin. People with diabetes will just love you for thinking of THEM! Especially any diabetic child like mine. Do you realize a Type 1 diabetic can eat only at certain times of the day and only a certain amount of carbohydrates? Hopefully my daughter will go on the insulin pump this summer so things do not have to be so rigid for her. -- posted by Charlotte J

Flower Ice Bowls

Talk about presentation! These gorgeous frozen floral bowls (edible!) are recommended for cold soups, particularly fruit soups. But I figure anything cold would be more than enhanced by these bowls. You can make a bowl for each serving or one big serving bowl.
Apple Butter Tzimmes

This is a recipe for stovetop Tzimmes. It is great for camping and for a quick and easy side dish at home. This produces a lot of extra liquid which is more or less, apple butter, which can be soaked up with challah. Also can be prepared in a crock pot. -- posted by LordNeuf

Classic Jewish Chicken Soup

Makes a nice big pot of cure a cold, feel-good, Friday Night chicken soup. If you are looking for crisp veggies and a light, clear broth, this is not the recipe you want. Long cooking allows for the flavor of the veggies and chicken to really penetrate the broth (leaving the veggies quite soft), and keeping the cover off concentrates the flavors further. Add fine egg noodles or kreplach (Jewish meat dumplings) and you'll want to dive into the bowl! Enjoy! -- posted by Kishka

Homemade Authentic Gefilte Fish

Gefilte fish is the traditional first course of the Passover Seder meal in Ashkenazic homes. Horseradish is the accompaniment. The combination of fish listed is only a suggestion, and other proportions may be used, depending on tradition.
What most non-Jews don't understand is what IS Gefilte fish?? Gefilte means stuffed and refers to actual fish being stuffed with this mixture and then cooked - rarely done these days. I hope you enjoy this! Recipe from Ray Sokolov. Make in advance. Refrigeration time not included. -- posted by AniSarit
