Alive Cookies

My mom has been sending me these healthy recipes lately, and this one was so weird I just had to post it. I don't have a food dehydrator but I may try to make these in the oven, just as an experiment. I think it sounds good, but I am kind of scared to mess it up! (Cook time==dehydration time, and prep time is soaking time for the oats.) -- posted by spatchcock

Dried Fruit Balls

If you love to camp and enjoy the great outdoors as much as my family, here is a take along snack that is sure to please. Using my dehyrator compacts so many things and makes them easy to take along since it removes the need for refrigeration. -- posted by Steel Magnolia

Acorn Meal

Acorn meal can be used in place of corn meal. Most cooks usually substitute acorn meal for half of the corn meal in a recipe. Look through my recipes for more uses for acorn meal. Time does not including drying time which is optional. -- posted by Nyteglori

Igor's Crackers (Raw Foods)

From Victoria Boutenko's 12 Steps to Raw Foods. I haven't tried it yet and I have to give the library book back. I read in their newsletter that they tossed some crumbs from these crackers outside for the birds and in the spring flax started growing on the spot. Now that's *live* food! -- posted by mliss29

Oatmeal Cookies (Raw Vegan)

We all love this recipe, especially my 6 year old daughter. We often have these for breakfast, so much better for you than processed cereals. This recipe is inspired by Juliano's recipe, but is quite different. -- posted by RawFoodNut

Luscious Lemon Cookies (Raw Foods)

From Raw Food Celebrations - Party Menus for Every Occasion by Nomi Shannon and Sheryl Duruz. It's due back to the library tomorrow and this looks good! The book says these cookies were meant to be dehydrated but taste good fresh too. "If you are not dehydrating the cookies, use dried coconut." -- posted by mliss29
