Apple-Pecan Crisp (Crock Pot)

This recipe totally blew me away on how good it was. Everything can be made up ahead of time and put into the crock pot just before cooking. The trouble was keeping the fingers out of the pot while it was cooking. This is perfect for family or casual settings -- posted by Abby Girl

Slow Cooker Carrot Cake

My oven has been out of order for some time now as I await the arrival of some special order part. I had a craving for carrot cake and tried out this novel way of 'baking' one. The recipe is an adaptation from Beth Hensperger's "Not Your Mother's Slow Cooker Cookbook". You can use a small spring form pan that fits inside your large slow cooker. I did not have one so I used the no stick insert from my rice cooker as an improvised cake pan. -- posted by Chef Regina V.
Butterscotch Pudding

I found this recipe in 'Joan Bishop's New Zealand Crockpot and Slow Cooker Cookbook'. This dessert is more like a baked pudding than a steamed one. It has a rich butterscotch sauce and is a good family pudding or to serve guests, especially in winter. It's also very easy to prepare. Definitely comfort food best served with vanilla ice cream or fresh cream. The author says to sit the pudding basin on a trivet in the slow cooker. If you don't have one of these she suggests using a metal jam lid or a metal biscuit cutter. -- posted by Sazza

Low-Cal Tapioca Pudding

Based on Alton Brown's recipe, using non-fat milk and sugar substitute. Works best with Splenda brand, but NutraSweet or SweetOne can be used easily. (The cooking time after adding the sweetener is not really long enough to break down the aspartame; if it's not sweet enough for you, you might add an extra packet.) -- posted by DrGaellon

Cinnamon Apples (Crock Pot)

This is a super rich indulgence that is very much like the middle of an apple pie. A great recipe for those apples that are sitting in your fridge that nobody wants to eat. Prep time includes time to peel the apples by hand (but you don't have to peel them if you don't want to).
Pumpkin Bread Pudding With Dutch Honey Syrup

Apple-Raisin Bread Pudding With Cream Soda Sauce - Sandra Lee

This is a Sandra Lee recipe. I am going to post exactly as she did.
Ms. Marsha's Crock Pot Candy

This recipe came from a very sweet woman I know. My family absolutely loves these little candies and they could hardly be easier. The hardest part is spooning the candy on to the paper to cool, that and not eating them all be for they set.
Please note only use DRY utensils when making chocolates, water can ruin your candies. You may need to put the candy in to the fridge for a little while to get it to set if it is very warm in your house the day that you make them. For example, last time I made them I was also baking bread that day, the kitchen was too warm for the candies so I had to very carefully cut my parchment to manageable sizes so that my candy could be placed in the fridge. If it is more than 72 in your kitchen you may want to plan on chilling them in the fridge and that means making sure you can safetly make it from your crock pot to your fridge or a really cool place in your house without dropping all your goodies on the floor.

I use what I consider to be an average sized family crockpot for my candy I believe it holds about 3 quarts. I have successfully halved the recipe and used a smaller crock pot, the candy will only take around 1 hour and 45 minutes for the half batch to melt. -- posted by Turkeys Mom

The National Trust Heritage Lemon Curd: Crock Pot or Traditional

A wonderful classic British preserve. Spread it thickly on fresh baked bread, crumpets, muffins or hot buttered toast. It's also delicious on pancakes and if used as a filling for cakes or tarts - such as my Recipe #176514. This recipe has the benefit of being made in the Crock Pot/Slow Cooker, acting as a bain marie which allows you time to being doing other things in the kitchen! I have also given instructions for the more traditional method if you don't have a slow cooker. A jar or two makes a lovely gift - tie a pretty ribbon around the neck of the jar and provide a recipe tag as well. We like our lemon curd quite tangy - so if you are not keen on a very lemony taste - increase the sugar by about 2 to 3 ounces, or use 2 lemons only. This can also be made with oranges or limes, or a mixture of all three Citrus fruits; it will then be called St.Clement's Curd, from the Nursery Rhyme "Oranges and Lemons - The Bells of St.Clements". (This recipe was adpated from The National Trust Cookbook, hence the title of this lemon curd recipe!) -- posted by French Tart

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Who would have thought you could make chocolate chip cookies in a slow cooker? Though they'll certainly look different from what you're used to, the flavor is great and they're easier and less labor-intensive to make. The cookie slices are delicious topped with ice cream, or simply served with a tall glass of cold milk.

Easiest Crock Pot Fruit Cobbler

I found this recipe in a Fix-It-And-Forget-It crock pot cookbook. It is extremely forgiving and versatile...not to mention delicious! You'll be amazed at the cobbler-like texture that you can get with boxed cake mix, butter and a crock-pot. I personally prefer yellow cake mix + cherry pie filling + walnuts (as recipe indicates). -- posted by firealarmqueen

Slow Cooker Rice Pudding

Nice plain rice pudding - done in about 3hrs with just a couple of stirs (so not suitable to leave overnight or while you are out). I love to serve this warm with a big dollop of stewed apple or roasted rhubarb.

Slow Cooker Banana Upside Down Cake

I have just discovered the wonder of the slow cooker, and found this recipe online. You can make dessert in a slow cooker, too? Indeed you can, and this is an excellent one to try. My husband raved about it and finished it off in less than 24 hours. He loved the caramelized edges, while I particularly enjoyed the delicious cake. I did not find it too spicy, but actually a good compliment to the sweetness of the bananas. -- posted by Foxxyladyone

Tropical Fruit and Apple Cobbler-Crock Pot!

Ok, this isn't exactly the toss it in and forget it crock pot recipe, but it does make sure you have hot cobbler for dessert. It really isn't difficult to make, it just take a little more preparation than your average crock pot dish. I think you'll be happy with the results though. The flavor is really special. Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. -- posted by Chef Jean

Craze-E Tropical Crock Pot Cobbler

I wanted to create a tropical dessert using 5 of the 21 contest ingredients. This dessert is light and tasty, and the juices from the fruit add a tangy sweetness that does not require sugar. Toasted coconut and almonds add a bit of extra texture. This dessert has 3 main ingredient combos - a fruit mixture, a flour mixture and a topping mixture. Great ending to a picnic or bar-b-que with friends. Enjoy! -- posted by FloridaNative

Butternut squash, apple and yes, pineapple makes this unique variation of a pineapple upside down cake the perfect choice for autumn. It has the traditional brown sugar-pineapple topping with a very moist and oh so delicious spice cake twist. The recipe was tested in a 4 quart oval crock-pot and would work fine in a 4 quart round crock-pot as well.
Crock-Pot / Slow-Cooker Cheesecake

This is an easy recipe for a cheesecake with an unbelievably silky texture because the machine steams the cake as it bakes. Recipe is from Beth Hensperger and was printed in "Food & Wine" (November 2007). You must resist the urge to peek inside as it is cooking—the lid must stay closed to retain heat. Cake must be chilled for at least 4 hours. -- posted by blucoat

This dark, rich, chocolate cake is perfect with coffee on a lazy afternoon or as a special treat for a birthday cake. It has no eggs or milk so is ok for Vegans. Top it with your favourite frosting, or just sprinkle powdered sugar on it to 'finish' it for the table.I love the recipe as I alway seem to be out of milk and eggs, so this recipe suits my house!
