Edible Snack Bowl

Dubbed the "Super Bowl" - this recipe was featured in the Jan/Feb 2010 issue of Food Network Magazine. Stashing for safe keeping. You will also need aluminum foil and an ovenproof 3 quart bowl to pull this trick off. The article says it is strong enough to hold dip! The original recipe didn't include servings, so 8 is an estimation. Prep time includes time to cool as well. -- posted by Misa

Ole! Fresh Guacamole With Key Lime

I love every classic ingredient used in Mexican food. But when it comes to guacamole, I'm not crazy about all of those ingredients together! I love it fresh, pure and simple... the way I made it every day in my friend's Mexican restaurant in Nevada (constantly, since the customers just couldn't seem to get enough!). We sold a lot of it a la carte, and only used the finest, freshest ingredients possible... fresh ripe avocados, Key limes, onion, and just the right amount of Margarita salt. Look for large Key limes and ripe avocadoes in Mexican markets -- they're the best. For those quacamole purists like me who do not want chunks of this-and-that in their dip... then this is definitely the guacamole for you! -- posted by Bazaar®

Copycat Olive Garden Spinach Artichoke Dip

If you are here you know how delicious OG's spinach artichoke dip is! Well, you are in luck, this takes that recipe and multiplies it by love.

Love, of course is what takes food from ok, to "more please and can I get the recipe?!"

I came up with this recipe after a lot of trial and error, and many outings to olive garden for comparison. It's a huge hit any time I make it, and requested at potlucks. -- posted by Got Sauce?

Too Cheap to Make Real Pesto. Pistachios are Perfect

Since the Umpa Lumpa's that harvest pine nuts started their own union, I have had to make some changes to my grocery list. $14 a pound is a little pricey for some tiny little nut. Pistachios are an ideal substitue. They taste great and if you buy them salted, (which is the only way I have ever seen them sold) you don't need to add any additional salt. One other thing. Peste freezes very well. I like to put it into ice cube trays and freeze it into portions. Then pop them out and put them in a frezer bag. It's easier to stuff a roast with pesto when it's solid, than when it's a messy goo. -- posted by ROV Chef

And this is so quick to put together. I have doubled, and tripled this recipe and never have enough.I only made three change's for our taste .I used 1 (4oz ) can mild green chiles diced, and 1 jar ( 11.5oz ) hot jalapeno nacho slices and 1 fresh jalapeno with the seeds. We like it Kicked Up !!
Bleu Cheese Dressing With Baby Dill

This is inspired by the house-salad bleu cheese dressing of an upscale restaurant I once worked. We actually served it quite simply, yet somehow it was elegant -- drizzled over a one-quarter wedge of iceberg lettuce... with a dash of freshly cracked pepper. A favorite recipe of mine, it's great on a Cobb salad or with buffalo wings. The snipped baby dill gives it a unique, fresh flavor not found in other recipes. -- posted by Bazaar®

Fast and Easy Pizza Fondue

This is like a deconstructed pizza!! Its really fun for a party (just double recipe) or one of those nights when everyone is busy and don't get a chance to eat at a "normal" time. I, personally, like to use garlic bread for dipping; but you can certainly use any tip of crusty bread. I would suggest adding any of your favorite pizza toppings.
Secret Ingredient Spinach Artichoke Dip

This dip is always a big hit at parties!! I've been told by many that it's the best spinach artichoke dip that they have tasted.
Nelson's Mexican Cheese Dip

In Memphis, TN in the 1970's there was a restaurant called "El Chapo", where we ate mexican food on an almost weekly basis. I can remember my father asking the waiter for the recipe for their cheese dip, which was served along with "hot dip" (salsa) and tortillia chips. Over the years he adapted the recipe, which he always had on hand for a late afternoon snack. Dad served it cold from the fridge. My son prefers it warm. Either way it is addictive, so make sure to have lots of tortillia chips on hand! -- posted by REALtorFOOD

Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip

a great way to enjoy chicken wings without the mess. great served with celery or tortilla chips for dipping. I like to use a crock pot to keep this dip warm during parties, just mix everything up on the stove than transfer to the crock pot or you can use a electric fondue pot on warm too. If you don't want to use those then separate into small batches in oven safe dishes so you can keep the dip warm. Not sure where the recipe came from, everyone I know has their own spin for it. -- posted by Chef ChristinaMac

Sarah's Secret Recipe Refried Beans

I have been making this recipe for years. It is a very simple recipe and it always meets rave reviews. I prefer it with bacon fat (I'm the sort of person who keeps bacon drippings in a canister in the refrigerator), but if you don't have any on hand, or want to make this recipe vegetarian, it tastes almost as good with vegetable oil. Black beans are my favorite, but you can also make this recipe with nearly any other type of canned bean. I've used pinto, kidney, cannelli and even chickpeas. Use this as a dip or a filling for burritos. -- posted by SarahCKS

Harissa-Spiked Houmous

This recipe is delicous -- for a nosh, cocktail party or just an evening snack! I love these kinds of appetizers because they don't take much time, this one is vegan -- so almost anyone can eat it. I like to serve them with Pita Crisps: preheat oven to 375ºF. Split 6 pitas hrizontally into circles, then cut each circle into 6 triangles. Lay them in a single layer, rough side up, on 2 or 3 baking sheets. Use a pastry brush to brush triangles with olive oil, then sprinkle with fennel seeds and a pinch of sea salt or instead of fennel and sea salt use Mrs Dash salt free seasonings. For example: Table Blend, Original or Garlic & Herb, these have a flavor all their own -- try it you might like it. These can be made about a week ahead, just store in airtight container. -- posted by Manami

This looks not so attractive but is very addictive and everywhere I take it people beg for the recipe! Serve this with sliced and or small squares of frech bread. Its not a dieters recipe, greasy but FABULOUS!!!! I cut bread pieces up and place them back in there bag. Set the bag next to dip for easy access and the bread stays soft and fresh this way also. SO GOOD! Hint: If you like this you can make this and put it on a pizza crust. SO good that way too. -- posted by Mandy ny
